to all the complaints of voiceover, i may be wrong, i was one time before, i believe this is copyrighted material they are showing, i believe they are allowed to show a few second at a time, more than that, yt takes it down, i may be wrong
In 1981 I found a Hall Breechloader in the consignment rack at a local gunshop, with a price tag of $360.00 on it. Needless to say, I walked out of there with it.
The really old guns like the flintlock pistol at the beginning have always facinate me because each part was hand made on a forge. Each part was hand fitted by true craftsman.
The all metal belt pistol with the " Rams Horns " grip and touch hole pricker Screams Scotland on sight. A typical Scottish belt pistol and to have the Name of Thomas Caddell of Doune on the piece was the icing on the cake. Doune is a very small town in the Trossachs of central Scotland which was famous for gunmaking ! The last time I saw an identical one was in the seventies at The Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow. I'm drooling ???
The constant visual blinks back and forth started to bother my eyes. Though the interest was there, I just couldn't finish watching it. Sadly, I won't ever return to any of this channel's videos. It's really that bad.
I love the articles and the information. Something that gets under my skin is the fact that the narrator says something and then the person on Antiques Roadshow says exactly the same thing. It makes the narrator sound derivative and unoriginal, offering no new information, nothing helpful. Why not just replay the entire AR dialog? Thanks.
Any Colt firearms should be sent in to the restoration center and spen the thousands to get even more back in true value. The same with S&W/ Smith& Wesson arms. The same can i think be done with Winchester and Browning arms as well, but you need to check carefully to see if these are manufactured by Maroku which is a great Japanese arms manufacturer. They are the brands that I'm fairly sure are still doing restoration like Colt and S&W.
As a retired gunsmith I was actually looking forward to watching this but I finally couldn't stand it anymore about halfway I had to stop.... the voiceover repeating the same stuff that you just heard was so annoying.
Does it do any good to even make a comment? The fake narration is a cheesy distraction that robs the presentation of any integrity it might otherwise have had. My interest level took a sharp decline after a few moments and was finally extinguished about 20 minutes in.
The video starts changing frames so fast that it's almost strobing. Can't absorb one before the next flashes by. What's the point of watching when you can't see?
Also the pronouncion is wrong. The u is in german not spoken ü , but more like oo in boot, but shorter. Also in german language countries the Turner are not known as shooters in time before wwll, sometimes fencing, but mostly gymnastics atcivities, to be fit for war. This movement started in napoleonic era, and has in 1960s cut the military roots.
As an ex military weapons engineer I find this very Interesting. However I do hope the "voice over" is AI, as some of the interpretation is dreadful, as is some of the explanatory images! However, why would someone produce an AI voice with a Northern English accent? Perhaps the US version of this is better?
What did you mean by " the husband of the guests cousin"? The guest was a male., the "husband" would be a male., don't you know a marriage is between a make and female? Don't push your subtle clap trap on us
Definitely had some amateur gunsmithing. The thing that jumped out at me are the undersized grips. That does not look like normal wear to me yet the inspector’s cartouche is still very visible. Still a cool old US stamped Colt!
Correct. Lee surrendered only the Army of Northern Virginia and there were other Confederate armies and smaller units that did not stop fighting for some time. However, the surrender of Lee's forces made it clear that the Confederacy could not prevail.
Just found your channel and while I love the concept of the content, the redundant voiceover is RIDICULOUS. What were you thinking? I will not be wasting any more time on it. Best of luck.
A huge waste of Money, and any time thinking about Insuring most Antiques, and All Firearms. The additional, inflated Premium added to a Homeowners Policy will soon consume the value of the item supposedly insured. If you think you need to Insure most anything not required by law, take the amount of money you would hand to the Cut and Run Insurance Company and purchase a Mutual Fund and add the Annual Premium Costs to the fund. Soon the Mutual Fund will be worth more than the item you were insuring, trying to protect. I know of two occasions where a Major Insurance Companies denied a Claim of a Firearm because the Serial Number was no longer legible after the House Fire, and the other, the barrel was not enough left of the gun to justify that it was the gun that was insured.....
Antiques roadshow is a joke. How many bad paintings have you seen that they appraise for 40 to $60,000 LOL LOL LOL or old tables and chairs that are appraised for thousands and thousands and thousands. BS
The idiot repeating everything the people are saying is annoying in the xtreme. Also patronising. Does he think the audience is so stupid they cant follow whats happening...?
If you are from the UK, you may go to Jail because you posted on Social Media your Neighbor is a Twit...... Canada, well you have that Dictator Trudeau taking a holiday....
AI listicle. AI voice that adds nothing and the cutaway photos injected are unrelated or just wrong, trying to make money off other people's work. Thumbs down.
Why not let the original voices carry the presentation? Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should. Cancel the narration.
I soon got sick of the third party narration, not necessary.
Then you need to watch to original. Copy right issue
Yeah I don't get the need to talk over videos like this.
@@harryzero1566 And martial pronounced marital...give me a break
Narcissist's video.
Wat is the point of the voiceover, it’s just annoying.
Because it is borrowed content. If they use too much original content, they would get it pulled from youtube, and get no money from the video.
@ well now it makes more sense, thank you.
Relax

05:45 i might be wrong, but i don't think they used SMLE rifles in the civil war, robot.
No wonder the Yankees won !
Benteen was not a sergeant ! He was a major !😂
Why do people think that Americans need or enjoy narration with an English accent? Especially robots.
14:05 ...shotgun captured in early 1964...just before the end of the American civil war in 1865...the guy must have been a time traveller
Is anyone else just fast forwarding to the value
Not me, the background info is pretty interesting

why the double narration
Please stop repeating what the people are saying. I’m giving this a downvote due to this, though the content is very good.
Thank you, new videos will be even better!

I have a very similar pistol that engraved but not as much as the one here. Mine has no maker engraved on it though.
The video can avoid copywrite by using an edited video with commentary.

Because this way "Antique Treasure Hunt" makes $ off someone else''s content.

Unwatchable, narration ruined it.
I'm not sure i can rely on your statements. You've misstated dates, and continuously show pictures of non-related firearms and ammo
This is an Insurance Commercial.....for Fools to Play a Fools Game of Insurance....
Like the out of place Lee Enfield, for no apparent reason
@cedhome7945 And the M-1 carbine. Holy smokes.
ANd calling it a "Pump pistol" Seriously?
Bentsen was not a sergeant. He was a Captain, an officer, not an enlisted man.
Bentsen held higher brevet rank during the civil war.

You telling me all these super rare priceless Guns are valued less than I used Honda Accord... what a shame
Why are you talking over it? What’s the point? Surely it would be better to just play the original audio? Am I missing something?
Probably copyright
The first pistol should go for more than $4000
Good God watching this is like watching yourself get a root canal
6:00 that's a sword not a bayonet. A bayonet attaches to the front of a rifle. There's no attachment points on the sword.
I own a Scottish pistol that’s very similar just not as engraved, but there’s no makers name engraved on it. It’s approx 50 cal and is all steel.
This guy is closer to being an actor than any kind of politician ! He’s actually lieing to that woman’s face.
Why does the narrator keep reiterating what the appraiser has alseady said?
The length of the content makes this 'ECHO' more apparent by the minute.
What they should tell the people. If sold at auction they won't get the money they are telling them it's worth. Because of auction fees.
Benteen was a major - not a sergeant 😂
6:50 how could ANYONE mistake that flintlock for British or American made!? It has Middle East 'written all ove it'.
The video starts changing frames so fast that it's almost strobing. Can't absorb one before the next flashes by. What's the point of watching when you can't see?
President James Bushinin? Don't recall him. 30:45
17:42 - stoned time traveler missed connection back to 1958.
The Feuerstutzen ( Schützenrifle) was surely stolen at wwll end in Germany or Austria.
At 18:52, the AI scriptwriter goes off the rails. Gotta get me one of those Civil War era Star Wars guns.
I agree, it’s one thing to narrate what is coming up, tgen, let them tell the story.
I held a musket that was used during The Battle of Bunker's/Breed's Hill , I'd love to know the value of that
This is not watchable with the voice over saying what they're going to say.
A brit talking guns, funny!
So, where is the $1 million dollar firearm ?
The one shown in the thumbnail was valu3d at $8000.
George Washington Carver invented the cotton gin.
did you get Mr. Carver's autograph?
Turner rifle and the next clip shows a Lee Enfield?
What a load of crap.

President James Bushnan!!! lol 30:47
He must have been quite old as the narrator at time 14:00 states he was transferred in 1964.
Cannot tell martial from marital? And thats just the first one. Dident watch the rest
The voiceover is superfluous, annoying and frequently wrong, identifying a girl as "he," for example, snd mangling President Buchanan's surname.
The Custer era pistol looks like someone boogered up the screw heads so that gun has been apart a few times
Definitely had some amateur gunsmithing. The thing that jumped out at me are the undersized grips. That does not look like normal wear to me yet the inspector’s cartouche is still very visible. Still a cool old US stamped Colt!
I’m off to forgotten weapons. That voiceover is painful.
The most expensive guns? I think not. Plenty of firearms worth many times more
There are definitely guns that are much more expensive! But these haven't been on the Antiques Roadshow ;)
Do not hang your guns on a wall where the sun shines on them the sun light can damage the finish in them!!!!!!
Interesting. But the Civil War did not end at Appomattox.
Correct. Lee surrendered only the Army of Northern Virginia and there were other Confederate armies and smaller units that did not stop fighting for some time. However, the surrender of Lee's forces made it clear that the Confederacy could not prevail.
Very annoying repetitive narrative!
You are right, we are working on it
What a stupid, unnecessary AI voice-over...which kept cocking-up pronunciations.
The over lat narration sucks and is completely unnecessary
I wonder how many got shot with it ?😮
That information wasn't there haha
I love the antique firearms.
BUT....The stupid double narration just ruined the whole video.
