William Zorach Carved Wood Sculpture of a Cat, ca.1930. Value (2012) | $35,000 Auction - $40,000 Auction.
I swear that Gepetto character looks just like that politician, John Bolton.
Haha, that's an interesting comparison! Geppetto and John Bolton do share some distinct features, particularly their mustaches. It's funny how certain characters can remind us of real-life figures. Do you often notice resemblances between fictional characters and real people?
ahhh!!! how much was the William Zorach cat sculpture valued at? The world may never know.... :( Thanks for the upload, enjoyed the video!! ♥
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 It's always a pleasure to share interesting content. The William Zorach cat sculpture is indeed a fascinating piece. His sculptures are highly regarded and can be quite valuable. If you have any other questions or need help finding more information, feel free to ask!

Re: the French clock! When I was a University student, I worked in a museum for the summer, and I learned a bit about antique clocks and their origins. One way to confirm in which country an old clock was made was to look at the Roman Numeral for 4; if it was IV, it was probably made in the UK; if it was IIII, it was probably made in France, where the concern was artistic ... to balance in "Roman Numerals" the 4 with the 8 on the other side of the the VI! French clock designers were more interested in appearance than authenticity! As soon as I saw the "IIII" on the featured clock, I knew it was French in origin! No self-respecting English designer would use that configuration for "IV"!
That's a fascinating insight! The use of "IIII" instead of "IV" on clocks is indeed an interesting design choice, and it's great that you were able to apply your museum knowledge to identify the clock's origin. The balance and symmetry in design were clearly important to French clockmakers, and this small detail can reveal a lot about the craftsmanship and cultural preferences of the time. Do you have any other interesting tidbits or stories from your time working at the museum?
You need an editor. When you say it is worth 25,000. It shows up as $225,000. When you say it's worth $10,000. It shows up as $110,000.
Thank you for pointing that out! Accurate captions and text are crucial for clear communication. I'll make sure to address this issue to ensure the values displayed match the narration accurately. Your feedback is much appreciated. Is there anything else you noticed or any other feedback you'd like to share?
Your best video until now: it presents many, many desirable and precious artistic items!

Some of the estimates are misspoken, by a lot!
I'm sorry to hear that some of the estimates were incorrect. Accurate appraisals are essential, and it's important to ensure the information presented is correct. I'll make sure to address this in future videos to improve accuracy. Thank you for your feedback! Is there a particular item or estimate that stood out to you?

Why are the written values way off by a few zeros compared to what the valuer says.
It looks like there might have been a mistake in the editing process, leading to the discrepancy between the spoken and written values. Ensuring accuracy in the presentation of appraisals is crucial. Thank you for pointing this out! We'll work on correcting these errors in future videos to provide more accurate information. Is there a particular item or appraisal you were interested in?
Where’s the “ stolen necklace”!!!
Wanna cprrect the title?
So that Montana poster was worth? Pretty darn good”?
It sounds like the Montana poster you mentioned was quite valuable! Posters, especially vintage and rare ones, can fetch impressive prices depending on their condition, rarity, and historical significance. If the specific value wasn't mentioned in the video, I recommend checking the episode details or visiting a reputable appraisal website for more information. Do you have a favorite type of collectible or a piece you're particularly interested in?
Noritake is not NORI TAKE. It's Norih-tahke. If you're going to narrate, at least pronounce things correctly.
Who edited this rubbish?
What!!!!!!, those jade pieces are worth 3 times that ,who appraised those beautiful jade pieces are way off,
The value of jade can vary widely based on factors such as quality, color, size, and craftsmanship. If you believe the appraisal was significantly off, it might be worth getting a second opinion from another expert. High-quality jade can indeed be incredibly valuable. Do you own any jade pieces, or is there a particular type of jade you find most fascinating?

Sure would be helpful to know when this/these Antiques Roadshows aired.
Knowing the air dates of the "Antiques Roadshow" episodes would certainly provide more context. If you're watching online or through a streaming service, sometimes the episode information will include the original air date. For specific items and appraisals, you can also visit the official "Antiques Roadshow" website, where they often list past episodes and appraisal archives. Is there a particular item or episode you're trying to find more information about?
every thing is 100 bucks
It can certainly feel that way sometimes, especially with the wide range of items appraised on shows like "Antiques Roadshow." The value of antiques and collectibles can vary greatly depending on factors like rarity, condition, and market demand. Is there a particular item you were hoping would be valued higher?
They say that right in front of a sign that says "Tipp & Co."
Tipp & Co. is a well-known German toy manufacturer, especially famous for their tin toys. Clear identification like that should certainly be taken into account. Have you come across any other interesting or notable pieces from Tipp & Co. in your antique explorations?
He was pretty generous with $100. That's cool.
Sometimes the stories behind the items and the joy they bring can be just as valuable as their monetary worth. Do you have any favorite pieces or stories from your own collection?
Where we can see when they will come to Las Vegas?
To find out when "Antiques Roadshow" will be coming to Las Vegas or any other location, you can check their official website or follow their social media channels. They often post their tour schedule and details on how to get tickets or attend the events. Here’s the link to the Antiques Roadshow Tour Schedule for the most up-to-date information. Enjoy the show!
I would love to get appraisals for a few things I own, but there's no one around here that does that sort of thing.
That can be frustrating! If there aren't any local experts or appraisal events available, you might consider reaching out to online appraisal services or even attending virtual appraisal events. Some auction houses and antique dealers offer remote appraisal services where you can submit photos and descriptions of your items for evaluation. Additionally, there are online forums and communities where collectors and experts share their knowledge and may be able to offer insights into your items. Would you like some recommendations for online appraisal services or forums?
Steif should rhyme with eye not bee. If we're being pedantic the s should be pronounced sh. Interesting items though.
You make a valid point about the pronunciation of "Steiff." It's always interesting how different words and names are pronounced across languages and regions. I'm glad you found the items interesting nonetheless! Is there anything else you'd like to discuss or any other observations you have about the antiques featured?
On that diamond and sapphire pin, when she said altering the back of the pin devalues the value 1/2 , what ,nobody sees the back anyway, , so it should have been, 12 000, I think 1/2 off is a little extreme,
If your going to buy something like this you want it "perfect" The piece probably had several uses, it looked like it split down the centre like a buckle. So half off is about right, it would cost that to remove the added on gold
That's an interesting perspective! While it's true that the back of the pin might not be as visible as the front, alterations can still affect the overall value and integrity of the piece. Even small changes can impact the historical and aesthetic value of an antique item. It's always fascinating how different factors come into play when determining the value of collectibles. Do you collect jewelry or have any other items that hold sentimental or historical value for you?
My sen
Fool
ROYKO not ROKYO.
How long ago was the gold nugget kangaroo recorded ? Looks like a long time ago, gold is almost $2,500/oz now. Must be worth significantly more.
The value of gold has indeed increased significantly over the years. If the gold nugget kangaroo was appraised a long time ago, its value today would likely be much higher given the current price of gold. To provide a more accurate response, do you recall approximately when the recording took place? Knowing the date can help estimate the updated value based on the current gold prices.
@@Antique_TreasureHunt Looks mid-late 90s I'm guessing.
Madame’s Place was on tv in the 1980’s not the 1970’s. I used to watch the show with my mum when I was in high school in the 1980’s.
Thank you for the correction! You're right, "Madame’s Place" aired in the early 1980s. It's great to hear that you have fond memories of watching it with your mum. If you have any other shows from that era that you enjoyed, I'd love to hear about them!
Old coke ain't hitting as new coke man. Oh you meant the soda?
Haha, that's a good one! Yes, I was referring to Coca-Cola. The whole "New Coke" vs. "Old Coke" saga from the 1980s is a classic example of a product change that didn't quite go as planned. Do you have any favorite vintage sodas or other nostalgic drinks?
That Emerson sculpture looks like it's owner without the mustache, lol
That's quite amusing! 😊 It's always interesting to see how sculptures can sometimes bear an uncanny resemblance to their owners or even their creators. Do you have any other favorite sculptures or pieces of art that have caught your eye recently?
Was the Chinese "sensor" (spelling?) made of yellow jade? Looks like it but they didn't say.
I would pay a lot more than $8,500 to get that ghastly "Egyptian" table out of my house!
Absolutely. Apalling. Especially the putrid yellow staring glass eyeballs. LOL
Haha, I can understand that! Some pieces of furniture can definitely be polarizing. It's always fascinating to see how tastes vary so much when it comes to antiques and collectibles. Do you have a favorite style or period of furniture that you prefer?
Coke is the best lol
Cockta is better
A really gorgeous piece. I'm betting in today's market it would easily be worth $80-100,000. The cost of nice Deco pieces is outrageous.
Absolutely! The market for Art Deco pieces has seen a significant increase in value over the years. Their timeless design and craftsmanship make them highly sought after. It's fascinating how the value of these beautiful pieces can appreciate so much. Do you have a particular Art Deco piece or designer that you admire?
