My first winter in Quebec and I am honestly shocked how fun our unassuming CX-5 AWD Turbo is in snow. I can literally drift at any corner. More power sent to the rear wheels than I was expecting from its AWD.
Totallly agree. I love going out early in the morning when no one else is around. It’s so peaceful w the snow muffling all the noise and everything is fresh and pristine.
Welcome to Quebec mate ! Just be careful not to do it on purpose in front of a police. Winter is certainly fun for some spirit driving but beware about the extremely cold weather coming soon@@OmarZ77
Audi’s Quattro system is legendary! There are videos on here, Instagram, and Reddit with Audi drivers powering through snow while other vehicles are either stuck or slipping. Props to this German engineering.
A lot of it goes to weight distribution as well. Any car manufacturer can spin all 4 wheels but spreading out the cars weight vs putting all in the front changes everything.
The sq7 holds a special place in my heart. My uncle used to have a 2018 sq7 with the black optics package, or whatever it was called, basically it was entirely blacked out. I remember going on a road trip not long after he got it. We were driving through all the desert states, at times, cruising at well over 100 mph and you literally couldn’t even tell unless there were other cars because we’d be passing people like they were at a stand still.
They hide the heated steering wheel in the settings for some odd reason, you can also configure the star button to be a shortcut for the heated steering wheel
SQ7 TFSI is my daily, made almost 80k km in 1 year. Good practical car with a lot of advantages and some minor weaknesses. Simply change oil every 10k km and enjoy the car)
@@weirdshibainu fair enough, the SQ7 does have a bigger trunk, but they're both kind of small imo so I would just get the SQ8 as I think it's better looking and probs better handling, best thing about the SQ7 though is definitely the stealth appearance (a used one would make the perfect sleeper build imo)
@@weirdshibainu I mean they’re both pretty awesome cars but when my dad and I went to Audi back in 2022 to drive a new Q7 we asked them what are the differences with the Q7 and the Q8 and they said the Q8 handled better than the Q7 (tbf I’m talking about the normal ones with the 3 leiter V6 not the S ones with the 4 leiter V8). We ended up getting a new MDX and love it a lot! I do wonder if the SQ8 really does handle better than the SQ7 though but either way I’d go for it anyways just because I like the look better.
I swear you're one of few people I can actually watch do reviews and snow drives cause you actually drive and have a bit of fun and not crawl around at 20mph the whole time lol
If you hit the 3 dots on the climate control screen, that's where the heated steering wheel is. You can also program it to be the * on the steering wheel
4:33 i have a 21 q7 (basically the same as this) and if u press the * button on the steering wheel or the 3 dots in the climate menu u can turn on ur heated steering wheel
I enjoy driving in the snow! My work gave me an Alfa Romeo Stelvio for a few hours during a snowstorm.. it had some continental sport tires on it and it was a blast. So agile and controllable in the snow. Would loveeeeee to drive an SQ7 sometime.
Heated steering wheel is standard. You can save it to the button on the steering wheel as a favorite. Additionally you have 3 options of what type of gauges you want and the classic style gouges is one of the options.
Audi's this gen of interior design has been around since 2017 and it is still the best intergration of full touching screen function I've seen, including the new Bim G60 and Mer's bar lounge E/EQ classes. Functioning wise, I'd prefer physical knobs for climate control and volume, but the more I look into this int, the more I love it. Definitely going for the new gen Q7 when its released, my 2011 Q5 has been serving me well, except the burning oil issue but I got rid of it with engine overaul.
Fine job as usual. The tradition round gauges are there and can be configured as well. I go back and forth for variety. Also, many electronic shifters have reverse in the forward position. Not sure why though..
5:05 The new digital Audi gauges are the best gauges in the automotive business right now. Them "not being special" is the fault of them not adding proper themes to them, and this is coming from someone who usually favors analog gauges.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, Audis are our daily of choice. While there are sportier options out there, Audi’s just strike the best balance of comfort and sportiness for daily commuting. Wife has a 21 Q5 and I have 23 SQ5. Unflappable in the wet and occasional snow. Looking at RS6 next. Great review as usual.
@@FaterialL we have not had any issues with our 21 besides basic maintenance. Vehicle has 36k on it thus far. We love it. A thing to note is that the prestige (which we have) seems to be have lower NVH than the premium plus (noticed in new loaner). Could be more sound deadening but can’t confirm with info from Audi website. Just my personal observation.
Why is it so cheap in America😳. I work at an Audi Dealership in Germany and here it goes for 150K € with all these options like leather, alcantara and B&O
And yes, I hate the plasticky paddle shifters Audi has the audacity to use in these premium vehicles!!! Even my 2015 Volvo S60 has metal-like ones (they're plastic but coated in a metal-like material that even gets cold/warm to the touch depending on outside temp) and they feel super premium.
Feels like litetrally every performance car in the US sounds way better than the ones in rest of the world lol. In those markets with OPF, this V8 sounds worse than a 6 cylinder.
Too bad this suv has a lot of problems specially with oil consumption and misfiring also will not keep it value. Like this one will cost on 2030 just $20.000 or less if less then 70000 miles
Snow driving can be so much fun when you don't *have* to be somewhere.

@@1MountainLifeAbsolutely! Acura’s SH-AWD is great too with snow. It shines when taking sharp corners.
Subaru is better
i love the little giggle after he absolutely hoons around and decimates the tires
11:04 that Prius was unlucky
Every prius is unlucky, or at least the driver is for driving one.
Its just hibernating.
nothing amazes me more than that start up tone. i am sooo in love right now.

You can use the voice command to turn it on as well
TheTopher’s videos make me smile 😊
Baby wake up, new Topher just dropped
This is why I like watching the topher, he does things out of the ordinary, and is not a npc driver lol

Definitely a fantastic sleeper (given that you aren't using the 3rd row) but my personal preference in the Audi SUV lineup would be a SQ8
The SQ8 is nice, but I'd still take this for the added capacity and it's pure stealth appearance.

Today the Topher learns why Audi has the best ESC on the market
I like the start up chime sounds
Has such a 2000s exterior style.
Goddamn those tweeters coming up is such a cool little feature
My first thing would be to wrap or upgrade all the piano-black surfaces inside
That glossy black on the dashboard. Oucchh.
you change the digital gauges on the main menu on the MMI
palms a little sweaty seeing you flooring it like that on the snow. XD

Is the 21 expensive to maintain? Looking for a new snow vehicle. I may have to go with something a bit older such as a 19 or 20 though

I don't think forward-to-upshift/back-to-downshift is backwards lol. I'm used to it in my Volvo S60

Do you own any other vehicles other than the brz? Ps love your videos!
It’s Quattro Ultra? Or Torsen 60/40?
Is audi reliable ? Or its like range rover only to keep in garage
How do you feel about this car being on a FWD-derived platform? It's on the MLB Evo platform which is FWD in some models, AWD in others.

The fingerprints on this interior has to be crazy
not that a big issue unless people have OCD - I have Q7 - love it for family drives across North east...Rain or snow
Pretty sure the Prince and Princess of Wales drive one of these

I love Audi, but it needs to get a new design! It looks so dated now
IMO that color is horrible, does not match the vehicle body style at all.
No offense, but 100k for this is absurd. Mortgage-like payments for a "lost in the parking lot" design suv.
too much shiny piano black. 2000- 2015 audi interiors were best. argue
