Hau kola! Best wishes from Germany. At home I 've got the Lakota-English dictionary written by reverend Eugene Buechel, who was born in Thuringia/Germany in 1874. It took me by surprise to see from which countries the people watch this video. I didn't expected such an great interest to the Lakota language world wide.
Háu mitákuyapi ! Mié čewahí yeló́. Tošké? Taté Skaté emáčiyapi :) Best wishes from Latvia! May be you will surprised, but my grand-grand-father was a Lakȟóta, in 1916. I was burning here and living here all my life :) I am russian man, but inside me is a part of Lakȟota nation. =)
Amazing. Many similarities to European languages like French and Dutch. As a native Dutch speaker the guttural sounds are especially familiar. I've already learned that Lakhota grammar is hard to master, but as far as the sounds go, I'm on board :)

Where can I learn more about Lakhota/Dakhota languages? I speak seven languages and the pronunciation of all of them helps me a lot to pronounce Lakhota words. I think pronunciation won't be difficult for me, because fortunately I'm used to those sounds. 😊 How is the grammar structure? Where can I learn more about it? Thank you very much!
i second this! there are some apps i've used that have been teaching words but maybe i'm just not far enough in but i have yet to understand the grammatical structure!
Thank you so much for bringing that to us! I'm a Brazilian descendent of south American natives and now living in Massachusetts! I felt in love with Lakhota language back in early 2000 when bought a CD called Sacred Spirit.
thank you so much for making this!!! i had first started trying to learn the language a few years back while i was in high school but i don't think i had resources like this that were so beginner friendly at the time!!! i'm definitely gonna have to work extra hard figuring out that last sound but i'm very excited for the challenge!!! it's such a beautiful language and it's gonna be nice to slowly start learning to speak in my ancestors' language-- i'm repeating myself but seriously, thank you so much, it truly means the world
After learning the languange with very limited vocabularies from a book titled Hanta Yo by Ruth Beebee Hill, I am glad to find this channel. But why the last video was 2 years ago? Please post more videos
Ahow, I'm a brasilian woman and I want learn Lakota language. Where I found one teacher or complete classroom? Sorry I dont speak english very well too 😅
I looked up the pronunciation, because my mother decided to give me the middle name 'Dakota' and I wanted to know how to properly pronounce it, to honor and respect the language/origin. I was afraid my original pronunciation sounded a bit too eastern Indian (akin to being from India) but instinctually (despite being Spanish(?)/Mexican (Yaqui)/American(southern)) sounded pretty close to the original pronunciation. Thank you for the upload and education you provide. The confirmation after each "vowel/consonant" is greatly appreciated and really makes me feel validated. (BTW youre absolutely gorgeous, irrelevant but if it makes your day 😅👍) Thank you!
Hi, I've been learning Lakota but was hoping you knew of any more online resources I could use? I know about the LLC but I was looking for something else. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
Imagine a united states where we actually made at least one native language a second language in each states and taught it to children regardless of their race or heritage.
Mulțumesc mult 🥰. Tocmai am făcut comanda la câteva cărți și sper să învăț mai repede și bine Lakota/Dakota. Salutări din România-București 🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗🤗. Felicitări pentru video. Limba nu mi se pare așa grea, sunt multe litere care sunt și în alfabetul român.
