Bryson H. I agree it depends on what you use the truck for I guess. I use a truck as a truck , hauling firewood , pulling trailers , going off road , and the other trucks fit what I like better. I don’t need cameras , park assist , sensors all over the place and cylinder deactivation. All that stuff is really not needed and reliability takes a hit. Electronics are nice when they work but they don’t last. Straight axles with locking hubs just work and do not wear out as fast as independent suspension. Cheaper to operate and maintain by the user. Most guys don’t use their trucks much less work on them now days.
@@Firefuzz11 Actually, the 87 had both options. Some were still carbureted. One of those "blending years". Kinda like the 71s having disc brakes and some still with drums up front.

God I'd love to have one of those trucks man!! Those were the absolute best rigs back in the day!! It was all chevy pic up trucks!! We had a lot of fun driving up the mountains in the old trucks
I had a 79 4x4 riding on 33.12 50’s. It was a beast on and off the road. I had 3 titles to it . I turned it over on the side in a muddy field. Insurance totaled it and I bought it back and fixed it. A tornado wiped out my garage and it fell on it. I took a sledgehammer to the door jam and beat it back. Replaced the door and road certified it again lol. Wish I never sold it.
My bone stock 4 door s10 blazer would have gone up that. Gotta give you credit though for have a beautiful square body and actually using it and not making it a pavement princess.
bdd1469 You're straight from engineering explained huh? So a fully aired up bogger won't do better than one aired down? Any tire aired down will have more surface area & traction common sense
@@Chandler490 You obviously havn't owned many boggers, and don't understand that a normal tire ( non bogger) aired down too much causes the middle of the tire to rise up and lose contact with the ground. Funny you bring comon sense up when you have none....
Matias Naulin Nothing special under the hood of tacomas and they are just ok. The 3.6 makes more power and has far more aftermarket support. Jeeps im general have a huge aftermarket community far superior to any toyota.

I was a "TRUE" Jeeper-Hell even my XJ was lifted (Its on my channel mudding) now...I am into Hummer. I got an H2...and got shit..so I got an H1...and shut their asses down. i have aa 79 short box 4x4 but my 70 high boy stomps it in the ground when it comes to 4x4 ing i have pulled square body and jeeps and a lot of new trucks up this clay hill that they could not get up in the rain i can drag them side ways up the hill to the top in my ford i go cross country all the time i would have went up that little hill way faster like about 30 or faster over the rocks all ready went 70 cross county in very bad conditions the passenger ended upside down in his seat belt had the truck about 6 feet in the air a 3/4 ton camper with 1 ton axles never had to replace an axle yet or third member and i beat the truck all the time or i don't drive it
When I read "doing what jeeps do" I figured it'd be mall crawling or breaking lol.
Not too many malls at the Rubicon, Black Bear, Engineer Pass and so on. You need to actually get out.
@@Colorado_Native this was posted 3 years ago. He probably owns a Jeep by now.

Jeep guys wondering how he made it up without an unused hi lift jack and a pair of orange maxtrax’s strapped to the roof.
That is a great looking rig. The 73-87 body style is the pinnacle of Chevrolet design.
i’ll never get rid of my 78 k20 w an 8 foot bed
Chevy quit making trucks when they quit making square bodys.
Justin L yeah but they need evolution as much as I hate to say it

Justin L I know I’ve got 2 square body trucks and an older model duramax so I have realized that newer trucks aren’t a working mans truck
Justin L 😑
False but ok
Good ol carburetor lol boggs out. But best trucks ever made thank you merica.
Liqa Madiq that looks like about an 89. That's a throttle body
Justin Peterson that would be an 87. The squarebody was from 1973-1987. After that it went to the OBS.

super nice truck but I wouldn't take it in trails like that those trucks are getting hard to find in good shape like this one

Amazing how lockers transform a truck.
I love those square bodies.

Great truck! Way too nice to be wheeling it. Those are so hard to find now. Would love to have one.
There is just something so nostalgic about seeing that truck do what it was meant for
According to my dad. This is what he did with his truck anytime he had to get out and lock his hubs.
