Thank you. I've been suffering from chronic vertigo do I can't fish, or do much of anything, so I might as well make some videos while my head isn't spinning lol.

In Australia, with spinning reels, we hold the rod in our left hand and crank with our right. :)

There's a case of learning something new everyday. I did not know this, so thank you for passing that along. Have a good season!

Unfortunately for me, I've been suffering from severe bouts of vertigo for the last 6 weeks or so and can't fish, or do much of anything too far from my bed, so I'm trying to do something positive with the time. Might as well make some videos. I have an audio story on the way. Thanks for watching

@@richtroxler as one of my highly demanding but at the same time highly respected instructors in grad school once said: "if you really want to be sure that you understand something, teach it!" Great work Rich, you are an astute and articulate human being. The salt-life community is lucky to have you on its side.

Hi Rich. My name is Faisal and live in Saudia Arabia and have been a great admirer of your knowledge and skill. May I take the privelge of asking your kind guidance as I am now buying a new good rod and in a lot of rods to choose from and being living this far; cant hold and feel the individual rods and would need your kind guidance as to best rod recommendations for casting from 3/4 ounce to 3 - 4 Ounce range which are extremely sensitive rods and not just mere broom sticks. Thanks and very kind regards

Hi Faisal. The best advise I can give you is buy a rod from a quality manufacturer and pay attention to the label by the butt grip. The label will tell you the length of the rod and sometimes the taper. For the weights you mentioned, you would probably want a medium taper rod. Most of all, check the rods ratings, They will tell you what weights the rod is rated to cast. Find one that is the closest match to those weights and match it to an appropriate reel and you should be good. Thanks for watching.

@@richtroxler thanks i am far off living in saudia and cant feel these rods i am passionate about bucktailing and popping due to shallows in our area with GTs/ spanish mackeral/ queen fish around. I am considering ODM Genesis 9ft 1/2 to 3 ounces medium action. Wonder if you think its the best option/manufacturer or i could look around for other options before finally buying. Kind regards

Hi Paul. I'm thinking not. I went through his entire Instagram collection (close to 1K) and it wasn't there. Not really sure who it is, but as a rule if I grab a picture off
the internet I check to make sure there is no copyright infringement. I've never had a strike on any of my videos and I don't want to start now lol. Thanks for watching!
