Generation Zero is a first-person shooter video game developed and self-published by Avalanche Studios, under the brand Systemic Reaction. The game was announced in June 2018 and released on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One on March 26, 2019

I'm in the late mid game. The audio in the game is the best I've ever heard. The game smoothly ramps up the difficulty as you progress. It feels very natural for a while but it eventually becomes completely chaotic. You end up fighting hordes at times. Literally packs of enemies with 2-3 larger enemies each having the ability to call down hunters who then deploy ticks so you quickly find yourself running for cover because you're outgunned and out numbered. Enemies have several weak spots that you have to exploit to survive late game combat. Destroying weak points removes the weapons from the enemies arsenal. Very awesome game.
The music is very good, both in game and on that menu! You sound like you’re in deep, I want to get the ‘harvesters’ ....go full War Of Worlds !!! Great game and thanks 🙏 for nice comment

@@Juice5522 Agree, that spooky audio in this game is so good...along with the amazing graphics. I've chosen to play this over stalker pripyat since I played the first stalker games as they came out and I put this game almost on their level - for me this is definitely better than far cry, this game has character and is special.
You're soo right it's being a great single player experience. I bought it on steam summer sale this year and have'nt played another game since then. I play only solo. Sometimes I watch people playing it co op and apart from seeing a lot of glitches that I myself don't experience it strikes me how much of the immersion and athmosphere they miss out, when clowning around with funny clothes and intentional bicycle accidents. That off cource can be fun too. But for me it's single player with this game.

nakhorn - I'm similar to you in thinking this game is best played single player so you can really appreciate the desolation along with the lovely graphics and stunning sound! This is similar to stalker games for me in that I want to feel that atmosphere....in this case the beautiful frozen Swedish land!
Man I've been playing this game since the beginning and it's still something I play weekly at the least.
Something about this game just tickles me the right way. I recommend it!

Played a tonne of it years ago.
Got to a giant robot encounter i think near some bunkers/an airstrip...
Robot was a ridiculous bullet sponge and killed you instantly as he saw you.
After all 4 of us had completed the loop of unload a clip into it, die, respawn, unload a clip about 20 times we just all gave up. It was the final straw for a game that was starting to grate.
But... While it was good, it was amazing.
that sounds a bit broken ! i hope by the time I get to that, its patched!!!

Im playing through this game again since i have nothing better to do and i ran into this bug that i cant figure out how to fix, im at stenhaga farm and i need to kill four robots. But they just wont spawn. No matter what i do. Even if i quit and re-enter the game. Can someone PLEASE for the love of god help me out 😭 Edit: apparently the only way to fix this issue is restarting from the beginning of the game. Im just gonna play something else.
I have played this game since launch and I can say even when it came out in my opinion it was still really good
So if you don't play every-single game multiplayer your 'offline'? Whatever, I love playing solo and that will never change.

What system?
Ive been recently been palying gen zero and loving it but if you want more on story the alppine unrest and finix rising dlcs are a go to also finix is the skynet of the game and the weapons have a quality system the higherthe number of crowns the better the weapon it and is color coded as well grey,gren,blue,purple,yellow,and finally pink and the more you go north of the main land ill just say the soviet machines will give more than a beating
Edit: oh and lore wise on the game the national gaurd fell in only four days when the judgement day happened

@@CouchCoop128 I went to reddit for settings. Running with the deck capped at 40fps and med settings. Running quite well with some light clipping indoors but totally playable.
Started playing this solo a couple of days ago. Free on psn extra. Best game ive played on ps4 for ages. Awesome FPS. Challenging, intelligent, but fun gun play. Cool post apocalyptic vibe. Interesting exploration. Even if a lot of the buildings are similar. Just loving it especially the different ways you can take out the mechs.

When I first started playing this game on launch, it was too easy, the whole thing wasn’t fleshed out. So I haven’t played in years. But today I’ve gone back to it and I’ve been really impressed.
Gen-0 is definitely a comfy-teir shooter, just hugging the side of a cliff, trying not to be spotted.
The audio is nuts, never had I heard somebody shooting at metal having such beefy sounds.

Game is pretty good, but they need a difficulty between normal and Hard. Normal is way to easy & hard is almost impossible.
I played it with a friend. The idea / concept of the game is great and initially, it was fun. But to be honest, the game becomes incredibly repetitive. The map is big and even filled with different locations, but every single one is the same. Some robots, some buildings, rinse and repeat. Even the design, for example, every house is the same on the inside. The game is empty and pretty anemic. Yes, here and there, we get a new enemy type, but that's not cutting it. This game desperately needs new and fresh ideas, NPCs and real quests, interesting locations (settlements), traps, puzzles, storylines etc. We gave up on a certain point, because we got utterly bored with it, doing the same things over and over again.
was the companion thing no relief ? how many hours did you get out of it ?
@@CouchCoop128 It's fun for a minute, but doesn't fix basic problems. I think my friedn and I played like 20 to 30 hours, because we kept going and going thinking "there must be something else...", alas with no luck.

@@CouchCoop128 yeah I keep coming back to it and having a blast but it is a little frustrating knowing it could run so much better on the newer systems. You'd have though it'd be patched for the release of the PS+ version last month! So many new players would have installed it, turned the camera and immediately turned it off. 30fps is jarring when used to silky 60fps. They'll never know it got updated just a couple months later.

Stable framerate over high for me please, this feels stable for me.
So how much of an actual story with progression/conclusion is there now? When I started it forever ago it felt like all the missions where just sending me from one note/audio-log to the next with little development or motivation.
Yeah there's not too much NPC interaction and theres a lot of audio tapes, I like the minimal story and the solitude however, Its that world they built and the design of the robots/guns that I'm drawn to,
ITS not a bad game its compelling and it does make you want to explore its not a ten out of ten by any order but its a solid 7/10 compared to what it was on release its a totally different game and the world that they envisigaed is what we have now in 2023 and its not bad combats varied enough to not let it get boring and it can get edgy i like it i had it on release and it was pointless and there wasnt any structure but now it works the game and its alright

2019. It has the Boston Dynamics dogs with guns. But they seem much deadlier than the ones in the game. I stopped watching it after the storyline eventually just ground me down but my wife liked it.

Das Spiel ist total Ver bugged. Konnte alles löschen und nochmal von ganz vorne anfangen, nur um wieder vor dem gleichem Fehler zu stehen - die Vorratsbox - sobald ich rein will - Freeze!!!! 80 h spielen für die Katz. Echt schade. Und der Support von denen ist echt wertlos.

I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying this. 2 issues. Open world is incredibly quite and I can't turn the HUD off on ps5

A while ago I was in doubt playing this or Days Gone, back then I went for the motorbike instead of the push bike. All i've seen after was more focused on the multiplayer so I skipped it. Might have to change my mind and just go for it.

2024 and the game is basically unplayable 😡 at least on PS 4 after I get into battles and the large machines deploy small one's it just starts wigging out almost zero frame rate and freezing after I've killed numerous enemies big and small! I really want to love this game but can't stand all the glitches and also I built one base and it keeps getting attacked every time I get to doing something else to continue the game! I'm so pissed cause this might have been one of my favorite games ever but I'm sick of it screwing up 😡 not to mention ever since I downloaded it to begin with every other time I start it it crashes and signs me out of my PS 4 😡 and it's happening with other games too ever since I downloaded it 😡 I'd try to get my money back but Sony pretty much made sure that's an impossibility 😡 I wouldn't give this piece of $*** 1 star 🤬 And there's a new mission or something coming out this month June 25 2024 I've been playing videogames since pong (yes I'm old 🤣) and this has to be the worst purchase I've ever made and that just pisses me off even more because I think this could've been an incredible game but I'm done! I'm sick of beating 20-30 enemies just to lose the progress because it freezes on me. 😡 Great review of a GARBAGE GAME ✌️
thank you for the detailed comment ! I think the term 'runs like garbage' on base level systems would be more applicable? As the meta isn't terrible. Sony are terrible for refunds, try moving countries and keeping your account running....I lost 100 of pounds of digital games,
Definitely don't want that I have over 500 game's in my system and HDDs but other than losing literally thousands of hour's from corrupted saves in Fallout 4 I've never had a game play this horribly and I want to like the game and keep trying with eventually the same crap every time! I'm level 26 put over 20 hours in and it's getting worse and worse! Just played for about a half hour and right in the middle of a battle the frame rate dropped to next to nothing and my character was just turning in circles in slow motion! I don't own a computer so I'm assuming it's better on one but like I say I'm old 🤣 I have thousands and THOUSANDS of games and just don't have the patience for this anymore! I'd rather play Borderlands 2 or Fallout three for the umpteenth time than have it take forever to progress in this game! It's a shame cause I believe it could've been one of my favorite games ever! But anyway I appreciate everything and like I say it's a great review! ✌️

This game is such a gem. It used to run like arse on PS5 mainly because the PS4 version was bad but today, it’s far better but why oh why hasn’t the PS5 had a 60fps update with a few PC upgrades. It’s a crying shame as this game is seriously good. Btw, I’ve put hundreds of hours into this game.
