2015-2023 Mustang Convertible- Eliminate the Window Gap

I know so many Mustang convertible owners get annoyed with the rear windows not going up all the way, thus leaving a window gap. In this video I’ll show you how to operate the top without having a window gap. No more dealer quotes, silicone lubricant, or window alignments!

Thanks for the tip, just got my Mustang 2017 today (used) and was having this issue and called my garage to have it fixed thinking it was a problem, but with this tip, I won't have to bother them. Since my car does not sleep in an indoor garage and with the rain I was stressed it would have rained inside. Thanks again

Anyone who has this problem I fixed it on my 2017 EB Convertible Mustang. I bought a interior conditioner specifically one that says it conditions rubber materials. When I applied that stuff my shop towel came off all dirty and the first pass was rough. After many passes using little amounts of that conditioner it was coming out clean. What I recommend is doing this every 2 months or less and apply it on the rubber part on the glass as well. Now I dont have the issue and when it does comes back l just do the same thing and boom back to normal.

What I used was this "3d lvp conditioner" doesn't smell that great but hey it worked for me. I think almost anything that can help condition rubber should do the trick.

When it starts to catch spray silicone lubricant on a shop towel and run it through that top track. Been doing this every spring and it takes care of the issue.

I used to do this trick but then eventually my rear windows didn’t go up all the way. Glad it works for you though.

Your fix does not work on my 2021 Mustang. The rear windows will not come up until the convertible top is locked down.

they should have put motors with more torque for the rear windows.

Since the window is frameless, it needs to lower a bit to clear the weather strip at the top. Is this what you’re referring to or is it a different issue?
