- Join us on a special adventure as we celebrate one year of making camping videos by revisiting the exact spot where it all started! To mark this milestone, we returned to the same lake district island, canoed over with all our gear, and set up camp in the cozshack hot tent for an unforgettable night under the stars. But this anniversary trip didn’t come without surprises! A park ranger showed up and gave us a friendly reminder that camping here isn’t exactly allowed - a little different from our first trip!
Once we got settled, we put our new stove to the test by cooking a hearty stew right on the island. This video captures all the highlights - the scenic canoe ride, setting up camp, cooking in the wilderness, and the thrill of an encounter with a ranger. Was a refuse collector for many a year, and I've seen some sites before i find it so soul destroying how humanity can be.

@LakeDistrictOutdoors I've been shifted a few times by the rangers myself , well the police tactical support when I've been lazy and camped on low level spots and always moved on because of the behaviour of others . Leave no trace , only a few brain cells
@curlewpiper315 That was the first time we have ever been moved on. I've camped on this island about 7 or 8 times. I know it may seem lazy but I can assure you that it's much more effort for us to camp here than it is to chuck a bag on our shoulders and head for the hills. We rarely just camp lowdown unless it's an island or our permission woodlands.

Nice video mate, there’s so many people about camping these days who leave their s**t everywhere, so it’s actually nice to see the Rangers are out there doing their thing still, surprised to see them make the effort to kayak across to the island to be honest.
That tent is a belter, how did the seam sealing work?
They had a boat with a motor as they're over there a few times a week. It was good to see, and they were decent with us. They could've seen backside with us as some muppet had left a load of shite. Hopefully, the video will deter the dossers, but probably not. The seam sealer could've done with a few more hours to dry before being drenched, but it did OK.

Dry off that tent when u get home. I did that put wet tent in the bag n four months later the smell n mold was wild foul. Threw it away.
Haha! Yep, we always dry our gear off properly. There's nothing worse than a tent covered in mildew!
