Krystle's "oh my god" and scream at the end make this chilling! But we all know Alexis was running for her own life before she got knocked unconscious...
The suspense and the stunts were really well done, even tho Joan just sorta tipped over. The creaky ceiling fall and the way Linda looks up at the entire ceiling on fire and then the scream is so chilling at the end before the freezeframe.
WOW! Given me goosebumps watching that scene. Probably the most realistic yet also melodramatic cliffhanger they did. And I love how Krystle just slightly laughed at Alexis' offer of money - a very believable response - and how evil Alexis looked in that beret, with her arched eyebrow! A delicious scene.
Tim Johnson I wonder if the wardrobe people knew Joan was going to cut her hair during the hiatus because when the next season opened Alexis announced her hair was singed in the cabin fire so she just adopted a new hairdo! Meanwhile, Krystle didn’t even have a hat on and her hair survived just fine. LOL.
This scene was AWESOME! I remember watching it as a kid and almost crying because I actually couldn't figure out how Krystal or Alexis could survive the fire. When Krystal screams "Oh my God!" my heart sinks and then there was that classic "Dynasty" dramatic music that really sends you over the edge. You could feel the danger, the peril. The new series is clever and turns much of the original stories upside down. I'm intrigued.
I was a little boy when I saw this and since we only had one tv, I was forced to watch whatever my mom was watching. I was scared as hell for both of them. I felt there was no possible way they could have survived that.
@@musickfreek I was little too,,,, I remember watching this and just being in awe! Thinking they were really going to die in there. My mom had to explain to what ‘CLIFFHANGER’ meant and what they were for. I remember fretting all summer long!

ANTHONY, What a horrible, strange irony for me to stumble on your comment about Alexis burning when Houston is flooded out right now. YIKES. Stupid Hurricane Harvey.
This was, for me, one of the best Dynasty cliffhangers ever! It was really their first shocking cliffhanger. It was an organic part of the plot, not contrived or created just to shock. The hatred between the two women was building all season, and I thought it was really effective trapping the two main women together. The Cliffhangers that involved every character in peril like Moldavia and the LaMirage fire were over the top, but always fun, but this one had real drama! Seeing those rolling flames on the ceiling and the two trapped with Krystle screaming behind the flames was one hell of a cliffhanger! And I guess this is the closest we'll get to seeing Alexis burn in hell lol
LOL Yep. And I agree with you that it was so effective because it naturally flowed from the story. It might not have been as spectacular as Moldavia, but it was more compelling.
Yeah, Moldavia was so ridiculously over-the-top it disappeared over the other side of the hill! Hard to take seriously. This, on the other hand, is quite scary.
The Season Two cliffhanger is almost as good--Fallon's baby being kidnapped, and Blake being beaten by Nick and left to die on a mountain. When Fallon really starts to panic, they use a shot of her running through the mansion, screaming, "Daddy!"--and then cut to an echo effect of her calling him and an overhead shot of the mountains. Really effective, and chilling.
Thanks for the Upload 👍👍 !! XD They all had a fire on Dallas too at the same time. Dynasty was catching up to them in the ratings so They had Southfork on fire too.. XD
One of thee best cliffhangers in Dynasty’s history! I was 13 when this aired ,,,,,I remember being on the edge of my seat! My mother had to explain what a cliffhanger was, because I thought they were really going to ax Linda Evans and Joan Collins from the show. Still gives me goosebumps!!
@@ForeverCarrington My other two favorites are the Moldavian Massacre, and the La Mirage fire/Sammy Jo and Amanda swimming pool fight/Blake strangles Alexis. Although I was more disappointed with the results of season 6’s. Outcome. I absolutely hated they way they killed off Claudia, I always liked her, and thought it was wrong to ‘do her like that’. And I hated how they let Catherine Oxenberg go....
I liked Claudia too but i suspect they killed her off on account of in real life Pamela Bellwood was pregnant - you can tell she's showing at certain angles when near the beginning of the episode she's wearing a brown jacket when she goes to confront Blake in the oil field for supposedly ripping her off from her inherited oil well (it was actually Adam who did that) and briefly in certain angles you could see she was showing during her lighting the candles scene. I agree about Catherine too - all because she had the audacity to ask for a raise - sadly the only one of the cast who had any true clout with Spelling et al was John Forsythe (may he RIP).
@@alexisdiva9 From what I remember hearing, back in ‘86 when we were waiting for the 7th season to start was that Pamela Bellwood had already had her baby, that was why she is absent for most of season 6, she was off having her baby, and caring for him afterwards. Then returned when she was ready to come back to work. At that time I think the big wigs had told Pamela she was being axed. But the strange thing I find is I think that is against the law,,,,,to fire a woman just because she is pregnant.....and another strange thing is Pamela has never spoken about it which, I find weird. But everything I’ve heard is just gossip and rumors and hearsay, I’ve always wanted to hear it from Pamela herself. As for Catherine, her asking for a little more money was no big deal for the show, financially. She actually said the amount in an interview, and it was only a few thousand dollars more an episode, i know the show could afford it. But instead chose to fire her and do THE WORST RECASTING IN SOAP HISTORY,,,,no offense to Karen, because Amanda just wasn’t the best role for her. But PERFECT for Catherine Oxenberg. I still think Aaron did the show a huge disservice to the show by axing Catherine and Pamela.... and it showed in the first episode of season 7......☹️
Interesting how the new Dynasty took elements of this one and switched it up. In the new one Alexis actually goes back for Cristal, where here Krystle is trying to save Alexis. Fallon utters the Oh My God and here Krystle is saying the same phrase. I like how the new one includes the whole cast not just Krystle and Alexis. Each are really good and iconic in there own ways. The double twist with Claudia in the new one was jaw dropping!
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!! EVERY TIME YOU COME INTO MY LIFE SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENS TO ME!!" - LOL How is it Krystle's fault? Alexis was the one who arranged their meeting in Steven's cabin!
Alexis threatened to tell Joseph’s daughter that her mother killed her lover and was criminally insane. Joseph only wanted to protect Kirby, but in the end, he killed himself.

Mark would swoop Alexis into his arms, carrying Alexis to safety....while leaving Krystle behind to burn. Cut to a scene with Blake and Alexis with Alexis saying, "Honestly, Blake, I did not know Krystle was in the cabin with me!! You say they found her remains? Oh, poor Krystle!! (Blake buries his face in hands and cries. Alexis moves closer and says:) "Oh, Blake. I always warned you about that trashy blonde tramp. @Skip Bayless Yep. Mark Jennings, Krystle's not-really-ex-husband, broke the front door down. He got Krystle to her feet and to the door, and she sent him back for Alexis. That's why Alexis spent a few days in the hospital afterwards.
Wait, Their prenup was for only $100,000 ! With all the money Blake has, that's all Krystle was going to get if they divorced. Or was that a lot of money back then?
The next two seasons Dynasty would rule the roost. Knocking Dallas off the the top spot in the ratings. Until they messed up with the bonkers Moldavian massacre cliff hanger
$100,000 is pretty low for a prenuptial agreement even in the 80s especially when Blake was supposed to be worth something like $500 million! Also, Alexis offering her $1 million is too low too. If I wrote the scripts, the $100k would be $5 million. Alexis offer would be $15 million! Just sayin lol

Why did she throw a wooden chair in the fire, I love the original and new version of this show but seriously a wooden chair
She was trying to get out the side window - unfortunately, the flames reached the window just when she threw the chair out of it.
Peter Berning, She was trying to break the window to escape, but the flames came in once the window broke you fool.
Ironic these two women are used to the most wonderful and beautiful houses and to meet your end in this crap shifty cabin in the woods 🏘️
What was the outcome???
Mark Jennings saved both of them.
@@Stefan1971HH Joan came into the next season with a new short haired wig, claiming the fire singed her hair.
@@Stefan1971HH WE WE'RE ALL TALKING ABOUT WHAT A GREAT CLIFFHANGER, AND YOU COME UP WITH A QUESTION LIKE THAT.
Who set the fire ?
@@ralphfloyd8540 The majordomo did it.
