This Molvania storyline was when the show really jumped the shark. When Kerry Armstrong was on The Panel, she jokingly bragged that, after appearing in Dynasty, the ratings were never lower afterwards 😄
Interest rates around around this time jump to 17% and I think a lot of people had to get a second job to manage their house mortgage I see the ratings dropping people weren't home to watch it they were getting a second job in a restaurant to manage their mortgage

Kerry Armstrong who played Elena the Duchess of Bragna on Dynasty earlier (1979-1980) played prisoner Lynn Warner on the Australian soap Prisoner Cell Block H (the series was called just Prisoner in Australia and had the longer name in the US). The guard Vera Bennett (actually assistant warden - but the prisoners called most of the guards especially Vera since she was so sadistic screws) was played by Fiona Spence.
