This was when Alexis was a true villain! Viewers HATED her and yet were fascinated by her. After S4, the writers softened Alexis up to make her more sympathetic. She was never as evil as in S2, 3, and 4, and she wasn't as exciting (although I always liked her relationship with Dex). Also, after S4, they turned Krystle into Little Miss Muffet, Pamela Sue Martin left, and - as much as I liked Dominique - she took the few remaining sparks out of the Alexis-Krystle feud. The show was never wicked good after S4.

I don't think it could ever or should ever be remade. there is a trend in Hollywood to reamke everything and 99% of the remakes are bad. The Dallas reboot is great b/c it plays on history and uses people like Patrick Duffy, Linda gray, and until his passing, Larry Hagman. Dynasty could never do that b/c it was sooooo over the top
I watched a documentary about Dynasty & Arron Spelling said he cringed whenever Linda & Joan ripped each others blouses during a cat fight scene because the shirts were made out of real silk. I was like then why the fuck didn't use satin material instead it's less expensive? Even though the show was about a rich family satin will look just as expensive as silk.

After season 2, they tried to redeem him and make him the wise patriarch who loves his wife and children. But season 1 was more interesting socially speaking. The concept of rich vs. poor was well done. After season 2, it became camp and over the top. Still entertaining but not as relevant.
I see alot of comments about Linda's age and how she's too old to have a baby, but alot of women can give birth to healthy babies in their mid-thirties, 40s and even 50s, the world's oldest mom gave birth at 73 though, just for a little trivia

Dallas was in no shape or form better than Dynasty . The characters of Dallas had to wear their own clothes on the set . ABC did not like Mr. Spelling . However, the ratings of Dynasty were always high and when they were low millions still watched it . Dynasty was over the top . If you're going to live in a million dollar home it better reflect it as well.
Up until The end of Season 9, Dallas was the better show. Dallas was the number 1 rated show for 3 seasons and ran for 14 seasons ending at number 63 in the ratings. . Dynasty was number 1 for only 1 season and ended after 9 seasons at number 78 in the ratings. This is coming from a gay man, not a straight man @Messylin, who actually preferred Knots Landing.
As a fan of both Dynasty end Dallas, Dallas was the more mature show. Dallas was better written and more realistic ..which it lasted longer. Dynasty was over the top and campy; a guilty pleasure for sure, but not at all on par with Dallas.
Andre, did you ever reading the credits on Dallas? From Season 6 on, Oscar winning costume designer Travilla designed the clothes for Dallas. So, unless the Dallas actors were buying their clothes from Travilla, they were wearing clothes on Dallas provided by Dallas. Dynasty had the quickest rise to the top and the biggest fall to the bottom. Dallas had overall better ratings and lasted longer than it's copy Dynasty.

But I'd still love to see her get into a slapfest with Taylor Momsen. I think George Clooney could play Blake, & Christian Bale could be Dex.

I see alot of comments about Linda's age and how she's too old to have a baby, but alot of women can give birth to healthy babies in their mid-thirties, 40s and even 50s, the world's oldest mom gave birth at 73 though, just for a little trivia

Of course, what Alexis did was totally wrong and evil, but Krystle basically challenged her with the "Well in case you haven't heard yet, Alexis, I'm pregnant" line and smirk...what did she think Alexis was going to do? Take it lying down? Never. Easily the most best television villainess and Joan played the hell out of that part.

Dallas was in no shape or form better than Dynasty . The characters of Dallas had to wear their own clothes on the set . ABC did not like Mr. Spelling . However, the ratings of Dynasty were always high and when they were low millions still watched it . Dynasty was over the top . If you're going to live in a million dollar home it better reflect it as well.
Dallas was nothing compared to Dynasty! I even preferred Knots Landing over Dallas.

Up until The end of Season 9, Dallas was the better show. Dallas was the number 1 rated show for 3 seasons and ran for 14 seasons ending at number 63 in the ratings. . Dynasty was number 1 for only 1 season and ended after 9 seasons at number 78 in the ratings. This is coming from a gay man, not a straight man @Messylin, who actually preferred Knots Landing.
As a fan of both Dynasty end Dallas, Dallas was the more mature show. Dallas was better written and more realistic
..which it lasted longer. Dynasty was over the top and campy; a guilty pleasure for sure, but not at all on par with Dallas.
Andre, did you ever reading the credits on Dallas? From Season 6 on, Oscar winning costume designer Travilla designed the clothes for Dallas. So, unless the Dallas actors were buying their clothes from Travilla, they were wearing clothes on Dallas provided by Dallas. Dynasty had the quickest rise to the top and the biggest fall to the bottom. Dallas had overall better ratings and lasted longer than it's copy Dynasty.
I really hated Alexis for doing that to Krystle! But she made a big mistake going horseback riding while being pregnant!! Man, if I were Krystle, after the studio was wrecked, instead of slamming Alexis into the wall, I'd plunge her whole head in the toilet and flush!!!!

@cookiemonkey313 I haven't seen Nina so I can't judge her. But I still stand beside Alexis Bledel for Fallon. I don't really see her as Amanda. But the mere fact that Uma has played in Kill Bill would go to show she could play Krystle: she's a natural blonde, realistic both as a mother and a fighter, plus there's a girl-next-door quality about her as well as a regalness.

@delidude1999 I guess you're right... but then again, how else would Alexis have caused Krystle's miscarriage, which would lead to the greatest female rivalry and catfights in TV history? XD This is a soap opera, after all, I guess logic like that doesn't count for much... plus I've seen another show that had a pregnant woman riding a horse (Malcolm in the Middle), so... yeah. XD

@cookiemonkey313 @cookiemonkey313 Yeah, I just see so many similarities between Bledel and Pamela Sue Martin (when I first saw this one scene in Sin City I was like "Whoa that's Fallon!"). I think Grimes' acting is patchy rather than all out bad; there actually are some scenes where her acting is good, but other times where its bad. But I'd still love to see her get into a slapfest with Taylor Momsen. I think George Clooney could play Blake, & Christian Bale could be Dex.

@cookiemonkey313 Technically I haven't seen Sin City all the way through, I just looked up a couple of scenes with Alexis in them, but she was fantastic, very Fallon-like.
I never saw THE O.C. That would be interesting if Katie came onto 90210 or something like that... Heh, I do think it'd be kinda cool if GossipGirl and 90210 had a crossover week or something... XD

@cookiemonkey313 No, I'm not. The only movie I really like of his that I've seen (only seen 3) is Kill Bill (even now I only watch just a few scenes). I actually wasn't too surprised Melrose Place was canned, b/c Ella was the only character that seemed worth watching. All the other characters just seemed so... ugh. I didn't like any of them. What do you mean who'd be paired up? I don't think there would have to be any pairings, just the characters interacting. & maybe fighting. XD
