The most accomplished bow maker I’ve seen. It’s great to see this art is being preserved for the future. It’s not all about gadgets.
Agree but sucks you have to wait over a year till he puts out the 2nd part on all of them
Thank you for makeing some of the most beautiful videos on youtube.
This is an exceptional video.
Thanks soo much for the hard work you put into this bow.
Lol! @ 11:00...I was thinking you were bracing it backwards...that's a very unique shape 👍
I've almost watched all your videos and I literally cannot wait for the next one
wow, what an awsome looking bow. That bow looks plenty powerful. Thanks for sharing your very talented.
This guy is the real deal. I live off grid but this is a genuine pioneer.
Awesome bow and it works a treat . Great job thanks for sharing with us all.
This deserves at least million subs.
Looks like a well made hunting bow, impressive to see a relatively short bow with exceptional power. Hope you continue until you burn out with making videos, your an accomplished craftsman.
Thank you!
@@StiliyanStefanov Good afternoon. I like everything, there’s no chatter. Everything in the atmosphere of antiquity is almost. But please give me the dimensions, what height, thickness, length. Please. Thank you in advance

Ohhhh myyyyy its finally done! Looks awesome!!
Thank you!
Amazing result truly enjoyed watching this video thanks 👌
thanks for sharing both parts, really beautiful process! all the best!
Thank you!
Absolutely amazing work man
Very nice job!
I have a 40 inch Buffalo sinew backed self bow of Osage Orange that was made by my adopted son who is Eastern Shoshone. I took a full year and a half before the sinew was completely through drawing the bow to it's full strength! It draws at close to 80 pounds at my draw length which I've never measured! I became disabled and can no longer draw it! It is a simple bow but a powerful one!
Yours is a nice bow, too, though I've never seen ANY Native bow of the 19th Century that was curved, as yours is! Those curves are 20th Century inventions for Native Americans! Some of the experimented with recurves but not many!
I think your tipi is a few poles short of the recommended number, even for a 14 foot lodge!
I live on the Wind River Indian Reservation, Home to the Eastern Shone and Northern Arapaho People! Tipis are very common, here. My wife and I lived 8 months each year in an 18 foot lodge and now, our lodge is a 24 foot tipi! It takes a lot more poles but, has a ton more space that the 18 foot one we used to use!
wow, truly amazing what a beautiful bow
Love the birds singing and your scallop shell glue pot! I will check your videos to see if you show how you make your arrows.
Great video, thanks for sharing your methods.
Beautiful bow !!
Beautiful work
This was a fascinating journey.
What a beautiful bow and it seems to shoot well tio
Very Beautiful Bow! I hope to be as good as you at building bows. It's hard to do, a lot of work, but I love it.
SO beautiful....LOVE it!
Superb,as always,Hadachi bow,excellent work my friend..
amazing video and detail art work
Great work!
Outstanding awesome work good job my friend
Very good video. I actually thought it was a recurve and that you had it strung backwords then I read your description of the bow and learned otherwise;
Not to take away from your bow it's a beautiful bow. And your videos are very well done. I'm not sure we ever seen deflexed tips over here except for Willow wood bows out in the Mohave area and they were rather long and not sinewed.
John Bland I am sure. It is "swallowtail", "double curved".
@@StiliyanStefanov As a descendant of Choctaw people, and raised making bows, and just about everything else with my hands, I am sure the ingenuity of Native American people would have gladly accepted modifications to bow design according to the builders ability. Stiliyan Stefanov you are a wonderful example to us all what we can do with our hands, and not to underestimate what a human alone in the woods can come up with. One of them dreamed up civilization.
Pineapple Jones several native tribes in the plains used this design with deflexed tips, Comanche, and Cheyenne, and nakoda are just a few examples.
Top! The real native american bow!🤝👍💪❤️
That is a bad ass Bow! Awesome!!!
Hahahaha! Thanks!
Stiliyan Stefanov Thank you for making these videos!! Please keep it up and don't stop making these cool videos.
beautiful!
Very beautiful bow. You should write a book on bowmaking.
A nice bow! It looks very interesting with these deflexed tips but do they not decrease the dynamics? Is there any new project incoming ;) ?
Hi Tomasz, to my knowledge this bow represents the Hidatsa tribe style. These bows they used also to beat up enemies after the arrows were gone. The deflexed tips make them more handy for this than reflexed tips would. No joke!
Sure reflexed tips help increase arrow speed, but are sometimes instable. The setback in the handle makes it also hard shooting at this short draw length.
@Stiliyan: very good job 👏 thanks for sharing with us ❤️
Stiliyan, watching you craft bows is an absolute joy! I have one question about this one though. I noticed that you didn't cover the sinew backing with birch bark to protect it from water this time. I want to make my own fish glue and so far I came up with sources who say that the glue is not waterproof and will dissolve with water, and other sources saying the opposite. Can you tell me what your experience as taught you? Thank you
U do have very good knowledge of crafting those bow! But I thought untill the end U building a recurved bow, and I was surprised U did exacly the other way.
Fantastic!I will subscribe your channel! Thanks from Italy
That’s awesome! Let me know if or when you come out with a book or video
Sweet bow
What type of glue? Ive used hide glue in a double boil and found it so tacky that it stuck to everything before i made it tot he bow
Amazing
I've been enjoying your videos a lot lately. Excellent content. Is that a hide glue you were using? The stuff you were heating up in the scallop shell?
Hy. I like your videos. How do you like the mulberry wood as a material for the bow?
Hau!
Is there a reason you let sinew dry and they heated it, with some water added, before applying it? I've always seen it done with the sinew soaked and then applied directly to the bow.
Hi Stiliyan, great work! Please tell me how long was the bow stave and how much sinew you have used to make this bow. Thanks.
Hi !
One question for you ...
How long did you let the sinew to dry , after gluing on the bow ???
Thank you !!!
Verry nice! :)-
what kind of glue did you use
Another piece of art. You're truly an artist, and a good one. And your editing is amazing. Thanks for all your vids. By the way, what is FISH GLUE? (M.G., Quebec, Canada)
Glue made from the swim bladder of a fish
Amazing! Was this the whole trip away from home?
Thank you very much! Yes 200km

Cool video(s), but it would have been nice if you explained what exactly you did, what kind of stuff you used, how long each process takes etc.
would be interesting to see what siyahs on the bow would look like and affect its performance i imagine it would lower draw weight?
Thank you very much! 60lbs
Do you use sinew glue or hide glue?
What glue are you using?
Awesome bows. I like the videos alone in nature. Looks peaceful. What kind of wood you did you use?
mulberry
Name of the glue used pls
Stiliyan Stefanov
Is that bow strung the right way? I would put the string on the other side. I might be wrong, but it looks strange to me. Great work though!!
its a certain design that causes no harm to the bow besides natural causes.
Abu Troll al cockroachistan yes it can, look at nakodacraftsman instagram. He regularly makes these bows under 40 inches at draw weights up to 90 lbs.
Absolutely Nice Jobs and Places. Thank so Much for share.
There are a lot of people (and I ) Asking about the side you put the string.
Why you dont use the bow by the other direction (punting the string in the oposite way that you do)?
Hello Julian,
Stiliyan made a copy of a Hidatsa tribe bow. They had exactly this shape. Deflexed instead of reflexed tips. Maybe not the fastest possible but very stable shooting.
What you use af first of this vdo
At 7:20 what's that you're cutting and using for the front of the bow?
Raw hide
Can you share what wood it was you used that is a truly exceptional bow is it yew
Mulberry
what kind of glue did you use?
Fish glue
Do you sell your bows??
Good bow
Thank you!
I just watched sinew backed native bow build pt 1 and 2. Tell me about soaking the stave in water and then burying it in ash. I've never seen that technique before and I'm interested in that method. Also the way you put the bends in was great. I'm impressed with the jig and method you used. Is that Osage you were using? If not, what was it and what state are you in in that video? Thank you for the post and I hope to hear from you.
