  • Hi guys! I make this bow of Black Locust. I found a natural-dry tree. The arrows shafts are of Cornus Mas. Rawhide bowstring.
    I hope you enjoy it!

      I’ve built about 25 bows but it’s been about 8 years since my last one. I have 2 beautiful Osage & one yew wood staves just waiting for me but I wanted to say the nut oil is awesome. If you don’t know this, use gun stock oil as a finish & after a bunch of layers use borax and veg oil mix together. With a rag rub the borax oil mix on you’re bow, this really makes a professional finish.

    Sr.Stiliyan Stefanov, sus videos los veo y repito varias veces a d fin de no perder detalle de sus procesos del doblado de la madera moldeado de los arcos y algo muy interesante es que Ud. usa en lo posible bancos y sostenedores primitivos , en homenaje a los extraordinarios arcos recurvados con nucleo de madera o bambu , cuerno y tendones asi como la antigua cola de pescado.soy un viejo aficionado a la arqueria en Peru ,desde los 5 años de edad me aficiones a este hobby tan apasionante y asi ya viejo sigo aprendiendo casas nuevas en especial en la arqueria del oriente.BUsco informacion sobre que tipo de arco uso Ulises ,me dala impresion quer era de madera y cuerno de oxis , y bronce para la empuñadura ,con amarres de tendon y cuerda encolada.aun conservo arcos hechos de ramas de arbol con los cuales practico tiro a distancias cortas ,he usado madera de fresno.Su tabajo es muy ilustrativo y digno de congratulaciones.

    I was unfamiliar with Cornus Mas so I googled it and found that the ancient Greeks preferred it for spears, staffs and even bows. Have you ever made a bow of it?

    • @waynewalters426
      @waynewalters426 2 года назад

      He just made a Cornus Mas bow, that's the wood used in the video lol. Cornus Mas should be an awesome bow wood. Across the pond, Flowering Dogwood was used by indigenous Americans to make arrows, club/mallets, and bows. Further north there is a smaller Cornus shrub, Osiers Dogwood, that was also great for making arrows.

    having worked stuff from a fire place like that, that must have taken some work to cut out on that stump anvil, much respect. also you live in some awwesome bush .
    o and nice bow build also ;P
    ps after watching the cartridge shells i just have to say you should work out a system to put live bullet/shotgun carriage on end of arrow :) something like a shell in a tube with a pin resting on firing pin so when it impacts target, it fires off some deer shot :P not traditional i know but i just had to suggest it :P
