      Hey, I was wondering when I was trying to put mine up and I think I was having problems with the size for my printable planner. And I saw you didn’t have to resize your’s or maybe you did and I wasn’t paying attention.
      But if you didn’t, does it matter?

    Great video! Something to keep in mind when pricing -- Charging $0.99 or an extremely low value in order to 'out-do' the competition sounds great, but Mak didn't discuss Etsy's fees associated with your sale. Say you sell it for $0.99, but Etsy takes $0.20 to list the item every time, plus about 7% for transactional, credit card, and other fees. You're left with about $0.72 profit. Then take off 30% for taxes which brings it down to about $0.50. Also subtract marketing fees you’ve spent to advertise. You’ll be left with pennies if not in the red after that. If that's good with you, keep rocking. Just don't forget to factor the platform fees in mind when pricing. Odds are, your competitors with the really low prices forgot about this as well.

    I'm a year late, but for some reason, this just popped up on my feed. It autoplayed while I was doing something else, and upon listening, I realized there was something I missed during the first viewing. So, I watched it again to be sure.
    What was not mentioned was, if you use a template from any software, whether it's free or not, it's crucial to change at least 20% of it to avoid copyright infringement and theft. You can't simply use any template and upload it for sale without making modifications FIRST. You have to make it your own by changing it. The same rule applies to anything online. You might be able to get away with it temporarily, but eventually, you will be caught, as you should be for stealing. Some copyrights prevent any alterations whatsoever. Which means you need to change way more than only 20% of it.

      I don't think you need an established company to get started but am unsure because I don't have an Etsy store. If it's anything like eBay, you can be selling as an individual. However, being that Etsy is more for Business to consumer transactions, I'd imagine that they may require a company during account formation mainly due to taxation.
      If you sell over a certain amount (I recall it being over $10,000USD???), Etsy may file/alert the US government and come tax time, you will have to file taxes.
      What type of company depends on your type of business, the risks associated in your product, and location. I'm no accountant but I believe an LLC would suffice for most sellers. Good luck

    If you take an already created daily planner or art print off of Canva for example, how is that not stealing someone else's stuff? I am super new to this so Idk what this is all about!

    Hi! I want to start this today, but I live in Norway - so my question is, do I put down Norway and norwegian currency on both printful and Etsy, or do I put down USA and usd as currency to reach more potensial sellers? Thank you for your videos!

    • @grazynawolska8160
      @grazynawolska8160 2 года назад +5

      Norwegian. If you put usa you'll pay a conversion fee on top of other fees. Margins here are low since products are cheap so you want to keep that conversion fee money since you'll be paying like 50 cents to etsy in fees on every sale anyway. Why pay more? Also for usa you'd have to have american currency account to deposit money. I'm in Canada and were quasi-american so we can get American accounts no problem, but I still prefer to keep my currency in Canadian. Makes doing income tax easier too (yes, you have to pay income tax... so after fees, taxes exchange rates.... what you make is tiny).
      So in summary, your own currency is ideal.
      Hope this helps.

    I have a question. When you choose Framed Wall Art to create your piece does it only print that size when they buy and download to print? Or do they get to customize the size they frame when they go to the store? May seem like a dumb question, but I want to make sure to get it right. I ask because I did a custom size piece wall art in 8x10 but then I watched your video and you clicked framed art and it is only one size available, so I didn't want the quality to be less by not choosing the framed art. This could happen yes. That’s unfortunately a part of selling products online is there is always a possibility of having your work taken. If you’re very concerned I recommend having a watermark on your work in the listing photos & having a clear description that your work is not to be resold if purchased and it’s for personal use only !

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  2 года назад +1

      This is correct ^ Etsy will remove any listing that’s a copy of your work on their platform as long as you can prove you own the work. (Usually goes by who’s listing was uploaded first)

    Hi Mak, I have not seen any videos that talk about how customers can access links and edit a template document. For instance, if I send a pdf file, don't they have to have an Adobe Acrobat subscription to edit it? If I send the Google doc link, it sends them to the main page for google docs but not just to the document I'm selling. If I send a canva template, it says they have to request access from me to be able to be an editor. What am I doing wrong?
