- The chest buster scene was not a big surprise in Aliens, but the walls coming alive was certainly unexpected. The phrase "there's so many" was said more than once.

According to Jennifer Lawrence "boys had never accepted a female action hero lead prior to her in Hunger Games" 🤣Ripley is arguably THE most beloved action hero of all time
Has she issued her apology to Sigourney Weaver yet? geezus
"Jennifer Lawrence"? Never heard of/seen her.;)
Guess she never heard of Sarah Connor either.
@@elzibiel Kill Bill with Uma Thurman too . There are so many examples. Not sure why she ever said that because it is clearly untrue
I was watching this movie before she was BORN.
38 years later and ALIENS still one of the best sequels of all times.
That´s how a horror/action/sci-fi movie make it.
Top 5 scifi to this day
I was 17 when this movie came out. I went to the matinee, had my mind blown, walked out of the theater and bought a ticket to the next showing. Went back in and had my mind blown a second time. One of the best movies ever made.
Same! I was 18 and saw it 4 times to try and catch all of the details. What an amazing time that was.
I so wish I could’ve seen in in theaters. Everyone being scared, putting their hands to cover their eyes. Must’ve been a really fun experience. Can you guys tell me more about how the crowd was?
It was the single most intense movie I've ever seen and you could feel that with everyone in the theater. One thing I remember the most about the crowd was when Ripley walked out into the flight bay in the loader and delivered the great line, "Get away from her, you bitch!"
Everyone cheered and clapped. It was awesome.@@faisalmemon285
Waited in line for 3 hours opening night show. Full house with lots of people screaming watching this movie. 38 yrs old and it still holds up.
AGREED!!!!
Gorman was an inexperienced Officer and this was his third Combat Deployment as for the experienced Colonial Marines this was their first encounter with Xenos. So they didn't really know what to expect to begin with even with Ripley's help.
9:16 💀💀💀💀💀😂😂😂😂
That was by design, he was chosen because he was inexperienced. They wanted specimens.
@@demonofelru3214 pretty dumb decisions by greedy bastards
@@demonofelru3214 Yup, i was about to say that . The company wanted someone easy to manipulated /buy him over .
His second deployment.
Ripley : How many drops is this for you, Lieutenant?
Lieutenant Gorman : Thirty eight... simulated.
Private Vasquez : How many *combat* drops?
Lieutenant Gorman : Uh, two. Including this one.
Private Drake : Shit.
Private Hudson : Oh, man...
"Maybe you haven't been keeping up with current events but we just got our a---s kicked pal! Many good lines from this movie including that one from Bill Paxton. RIP
Him and Lance Henricksen are the only know actors in film history to have been killed by the trifecta: a terminator, predator and here a alien (xenomorph) 😮
I love when vets watch these kinds of films. They bring a WHOLE different perspective to the table.
You know a lot of Colonial Marines?
@@movieswithmatticus5469Yeah, don't you?
2:45 This is what made the Xenomorphs especially terrifying when I first saw this movie. The realization that they were not only camouflaged into the walls, but that they were all patient enough to wait for the marines to come so deep into the nest. Very few ambush predators have that level of discipline.
Or as I loved to say, they're not coming out of the walls , they ARE the walls.
James Cameron clearly did his homework.
This is probably the result of the presence of the queen IMO
@Joel-hr1uw yes, the queen had telepathic abilities.
Almost as good as the Actual Theater Experience I privilege witnessed. 😄
Girls Screaming! Flying Popcorn! Soda Spills! Dudes Freaking Out! Kids Crying
Kids crying 🤣🤣 goddamn it if I'll be allowing my kid to watch this! But for real, I can't wait for the day that we watch it together - an all time classic.
I remember it well, lol!
Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!
"Ripley, don't worry, me and my squad of ultimate badasses will protect you!"
“We got nukes, knives, sharp sticks!”
"Y'all bringin more food to the kitchen." Priceless. I love it.
When you consider the year this movie was made, it is an absolute masterpiece and one of my favorite Cameron movies.
Hard to believe this was only the third movie Cameron directed.
It’s one of those rare moments where a sequel is either just as good or better than the first.
My friend showed it to me along with another friend. I think I was 13. He had already seen it and was seated near to the tv to see our reactions. I was hiding behind a pillow probably the whole time while my other friend was hiding behind a bed post. At that time Star Wars was like my world and I couldn’t believe a space movie like Aliens existed. I thought Space was a fun place to be. This drastically changed my perception. Who knows what lies in the far corners of the universe?
The sound design on this movie is so underrated. Part of what makes this scene so powerful is the music, which is barely even music, just rhythmic horn blasts and thumping bass. It really ramps up the tension and drama!
"this was definitely not a successful operation." Understatement of the year lol.
I had to stop the video at that point because I was laughing so hard. Absolute gold.
@@stephendavis6267 same hear, woke up my 3 year old! :D
The sudden change from confident soldiers to running for their lives in terror shows just how dangerous those damn things are.
My father rented Aliens for me in 1992. I was 10. Watching at night I was so afraid after the end that took me 7 years to try to watch again. This film is perfect.
Same here 😅 the xeno was my childhood nightmare 😱😅
I think I was also around 10 years old. I remember my father warning me "watch it if you want, but it will give you nightmares !"
Aaah good times 😄
@@djull2204My friend showed it to me along with another friend. I think I was 13. He was seated near to the tv and would turn to see our reactions. I was hiding behind a pillow probably the whole time while my other frien was hiding behind a bed post. At that time Star Wars was like my world and I couldn’t believe a Space movie like Aliens could be made. I thought Space was a pretty much fun place to be. But who knows what is in the far corners of the universe?
EOM’s response to Apone not being able to hear Gorman was the best.
“The orders are, ‘I’m getting my black ass out of here. I don’t care what the orders are, if I can’t hear you, that’s what I’m hearing’.”
loool
That combined reaction at 8:13 was just perfect!!
Ripley and Vasquez are badass female characters. Strong and non forced inclusion characters. Period.
Yes exactly.
I remember the first time I seen this movie as an adult like back in 2014, I watch the original trilogy straight through and immediately just fell in love with Ripley's strong presence.
It was refreshing to see a woman organically and in a logical situation be made the lead.
She earned her stripes.
Yup and you got a black guy leading the squad and a white guy clowning around with the tomboy Hispanic chick who is best buds with a ginger dude and the overall leader is a white guy who gets outshone by the female lead who has a respectful relationship with the de facto leader (Hicks) who has his own set of competencies which he imparts on her while she displays her own unique talents. It's all badass, it all fits, very strong positive messages across the board and they make the film stronger not weaker. 2 main points about it: Being a white male leader does not automatically make you good OR BAD. Being a strong character does not mean you can beat anyone in a fight or shit on/boss it over every man around you.
@@-BuddyGuy Yet we're told that we've never had this. LoL
The one thing that seriously annoys me is the ones screaming that the marines are stupid, despite them having to search for survivors and not instantly killing the woman out of inexperience with Xenomorphs/Shock from seeing this woman's chest explode. Like the Marines are IMO reacting like how people would in the same situation.
of course. any movie watcher with any kind of ability to suspend belief, which is a requirement in sci-fi, is going to be able to stfu and just watch the movie. screaming at the monitor/screen is just annoying as hell regardless what you're watching.
I know some these people I would fucking hate watching a movie because they don't never shut the fuck up.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Like all they’re doing is screaming “RUN RUN! YOUR SO STUPID.” Run where? They’re in what is basically a maze filled with hostile aliens. And the only person with any ability to guide them out is having a mental breakdown over the radio.
And then they kept screaming run when extraction showed up. Like you can hear Drake literally killing Aliens probably just steps behind them. If they just full on sprinted they wouldn’t make it. I feel like even if they did run away those people who still be calling them stupid when they get picked off running off into a place they have no clue where they’re going in.
@@xhighonefirst time reactors needs to just mainly stfu and enjoy the movie, period.
RIP - Hudson and Apone. One of my all time favorite movies.
This is such a good movie, i have seen it soo many times now, but watching this and seeing the peoples reaction and im reacting even though i have seen this movie. Well done James Cameron!
Between the first 2 Terminators movies and this James Cameron is in my Top 5 directors for life
From movies like T1, T2, and the first two Alien movies, to Titanic, Cameron is the man!
@@codesent2125 the first alien credit goes to Ridley Scott!
How can he be in your top five? He should be in your top two!
Hudson being a badass. Most people don't know it. Thank you Bill. One of my Hollywood hero's
I've never considered the marines to be idiots. They entered the situation underestimating the threat but then reacted professionally, and, despite heavy losses, withdrew when the blunder was obvious. From the moment the first obvious sign they were screwed was revealed to the actual pullout was actually pretty fast, which, incidentally, makes the xenomorphs even scarier for the efficiency of the trap. In terms of "horror fodder", I'd rank the marines from Aliens pretty high with scary but reasonable (if unlucky) deaths. And those that survived the first encounter to be the main group throughout the movie are all, generally, well performed, fleshed out, and useful to the situation.
Interesting fact about making the first movie, Ripley was never written to be a male or female. They left it open to whom ever seemed to fit the character and Sigourney Weaver nailed the part.
I can't remember if it was canon or not. But I remember the Company actually put the incompetent man in charge because they wanted this operation to fail knowing he would crack. The Company wanted as many specimens as possible for their Weapon Divisions.
Not incompetent so much as inexperienced as this was only his 2nd mission as a commander. But yes, we find out that Burke chose Gorman to lead the mission because of his inexperience.
Almost sounds like Resident Evil before Resident Evil was a concept.
"Now that we see this place is fucked, can we go back to Earth?"
Gotta be the realest take I've heard in a while.
I think a vehicle on fire is the least of their worries
1:08 I love how in sync these two were for this reaction 😂😭🤣
Love how before this Hicks was impressed by her but still kept her at arms length because of the whole alien thing. But after this, he fully sees her and supports her because he understands now, too.
Incredible that a movie with 30 years old is more exciting and better than some new movies.
Why is this incredible? Do you expect movie quality to only increase as time goes on?
Yes, I agree
He one girl: "That was not a successful operation." 🤣
“MARINES, WE ARE LEAVING!!!”
One of my all-time favorite one liners!
The collective rage lol..I love it.
Seeing Miss Gold swear so many times was pretty crazy too haha!
Saw this at an AAFES theater in Bamberg, Germany, with a hundred or so other GIs. Whole damned theater went nuts.
Gotta give Jim Cameron credit; he said the first one was so perfect a thriller that he did not want to make a carbon copy. Sure enough, we get an actionized sequel that is still just as much a thriller as the first one.
I had the same reactions watching this when I was a kid! Absolute classic.
This is one of the best videos on RUclips. This is what we’ve been asking for.
Haha I love Mrs Movies covering her face!!! Brilliant
Superb work again Dude
That radar is one of the most tense devices in cinema (even in the game Alien Isolation)
Alien Isolation is the scariest game ever made.
Best Sci-Fi action movie ever! Hands down!
I saw this back in the summer of 1986, in a PACKED theatre!!!! You've should have seen the reactions back then!!!!
................And that was more than 30 years ago!!😁
I was too little. :( Only film in the series I havent seen in theaters.
I was maybe in the row behind you. I cheered when Ripley walked out in the power loader and challenged the alien queen.
Love this, my dad took me to see this opening weekend and this was the same reaction 35 years ago 🤣👏🔥
All of these folks should look up suppressing fire. Drake was making sure their escape was covered. He was covering their asses to escape.
This compilation is EPIC! 😮 Well done!
“Bringing food to the kitchen,”……nice!
Drake was such a badass kept fighting til his last breathe made sure everyone got in while he was using everything he had
When the screaming starts at 1:40 is one of the best times.
Loved the reactions! James Cameron had the audience completely captivated from beginning to end.
Fun fact.
In the book Ripley never hit anything along the walls. The APC has some Auto Controls to keep from crashing. But Ripley knew all about this and how to turn them on/off because of her time working on the docks as a loader. And Gorman, the inept commander got stung by one of the Aliens....v
Now we need Reactions for Ripley seeing the Queen for the first time and Wueen VS Power Loader!!
Aliens The best sequel ever. Greatness
People give Vasquez and Drake crap for firing (against orders, under the coolant), bu they are the only reason they made it to the APC.
Yeah, it's fucking funny watching civilians react to this, like the only reason they made it is because of the suppresing fire but "yOu FuCkInG iDiOtS" lol
Actor Mark Rolston got two very different reactions to two of his movie characters. As "Pvt. Drake" in "Aliens" (1986), he's seen as heroic. As "Bogs Diamond" in "The Shawshank Redemption," (1994) he's the lowest form of life.
@@Otokichi786 He's also Norman Osbourne in the latest Spiderman game! Happy to have met him and Jeanette Goldstein early last year!
Which people? I would've done the same thing. To hell with those orders when they're stupid.
Before that, they used a flamethrower. I assume that’s just as dangerous.
As a guy, Ripley might be my favorite female protagonist ever in any movie. She's smart, decisive and feminine. Just my type!
First of all, SO LOVE the way you spliced all the reactions, with the backdrop of the movie going,..in real time, you are a wizard, you should be doing editing for movies in Hollywood, or a streaming co.,
just marvelous,..and so loved how everybody was so into, and invested in the movie, the characters as we were in the theater when this came out, these are the people you want in the theater with you, and thats who I had in the theater with me, including my friend who went with me to see this,..everybody was focused on the movie, I swear I don't remember anyone getting up to go to the bathroom even!,,.. its that kinda movie, you don't want to take your eyes off the screen for a second, do and you've missed something,..you go young people, 40 years later, and Aliens still got it,..a testament to the actors, Cameron, and all who worked on this film,..just love,..keep going,..Godspeed, Peace ✌
Seeing these people say that the lieutenant is stupid makes me laugh so hard that they forgot the simplest of quotes. He was inexperienced and they didn’t know what they were facing sooooo yeah
Perfectly orchestrated chaos! One of the best movies ever.
I watched this after hearing Jennifer Lawrence glorify herself being the first action heroine. I watch this remind myself the forerunners of female heroines.
Sarah Connor? She means nothing? 🙄 But okay fine it's all about millennials now... 🤮
@@NuclearFridge1 her and many more but I guess these millennials don’t know anything but knock off of real badass heroines.

People angry with Gormen should understand he was green and placed in a situation there is no training for. The fog of war is a terrible thing. I always felt bad for him.
Man the part between 1:45 to 2:24 is the best.
I was about 9 when this came out and I thought Vasquez was cool as ice!
'I only need to know one thing man....where they ARE!'
You see, we did have strong, smart female leads. They just weren't annoying like the activists create nowadays.
This was a great idea. Was it yours? If yes, Bravo!
The BEST of the Alien movies!!
My copy of this is signed by Hicks, Vasquez(complete with LETS ROCK) and Drake. :)
GET IN THE CAR! great reactions :)
And with a great score!
I think I was almost ten when I saw Aliens the first time. A lot of this stuff was way over my head. I was just excited for the action scenes. Watching this scene years later, two things stand out. One, the intelligence of the xenomorphs. Two, how “outdated” the technology of the Marines. (Granted, when I was ten, the gear was hi-tech for its time.)
There will never be another masterpiece of cinema like Aliens
The thing 1982 and exorcist are better .
I absolutely love this sequel, usually sequels got a bad rep of not being good as the original. But this showed just HOW bad a Xenomorph hive and a queen making an army of those things can be for us as a species in a HUMANITY VS XENOMORPH war. I mean this was a squad of elite soldiers and powerful weapons against the Xenomorphs without nukes being involved. These things are freaking deadly and when in numbers is nightmare fuel to fight against if you don't know what to expect like these poor soldiers did.
James Cameron is king of the sequels! Aliens, T2, Avatar 2….genius!
Helen Ripley real soldier
GREAT MASHUP MAN❤❤❤👏👏
Most definitely not a successful operation! pretty accurate observation
I thought Alien was a great movie, but then this movie was released. Let’s say nothing at all about the ones after this
If you're listening to Jennifer Lawrence
You got bigger problems
I would think in the future they would have used drone and sent androids like Bishop first.
Yeah, but then we wouldn’t have a movie now would we.
Can we go back to Earth now??? 😂😂😂
