This is actually the only lens I have at the moment, this video just show how I manage it. It performs than its worth whenever user properly. I love it for outdoor shoots 😊
jello/shake/rolling shutter effect on a6300- is notoriously bad. you can get something workable like i do as a hobbyist. you need to shoot at 60fps, then drop it into a 24 fps project in davinci, using davinci's default digital stabilization apply it to every handheld clip. the results are night and day, and all this is available in the free software.
Practical and applicable...I just shoot as a hobby and have the 6300 which doesnt have the stabilization. I def like the videography side of things but find the learning curve a bit harder than photography. I ended up getting a cheap meike 35mm prime lens which is surprisingly sharp and mounted it with a cheap nd and polarizing filter and gimbal. Cost can ad up fast so I just pace myself as I just like to get out and shoot, with the low cost set up.
Hey Rutas. Technically you can, but your A7IV will switch to APSC mode (it will use only part of its sensor). Besides, it is a very crappy lens, I would not recommend using it, not that great photos will come out.
I’m a new beginner & not a photographer & I brought a Sony NEX 7 with the Sony 18-55mm Kit lens & the camera is like brand new but I want to get a better lens for video recording so I can stream on RUclips so I wanted to know your opinion about the Sony FE 50mm F1.8 lens and the Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS lens & which one will be fully compatible for video for the NEX7?
Hi, I used just one step up ring from 49.5mm to 55mm because the filter I used was 55mm. Its a basic one from Amazon. Any brand/seller will work. The VND is from Fotga and I don’t recommend it. Its very bad 😅
I have a question if you possibly have the time to answer. I am buying a new camera and have a specific budget. Should I buy the A6700 and use the kit lens or would it be better to buy the A6400 and invest in a high quality lens? Thanks!
I always recommend investing in lenses as that will make the biggest difference. However the a6700 is a major upgrade and will give you a camera that lasts for many years. If you can, start with a6700 and kit lens and look for a lens upgrade soon
@@Psyko_Blood Both are really great options. I have the 16mm too and I love it. But if I were to pick just one, it would be the 30mm. Alternatively (to mess MORE with your thoughts) - you can get a 23mm (either from Viltrox or from Sigma) haha - that will be like the middle ground between the two - the most versatile lens. But then it wont make much sense to get 30mm. So I would rather get first the 30mm and then 16mm later.
hahah i'm using a kit lens right now on my a6300 and it isn't the best although im starting photography. Im considering buying a new lens from sigma in the next few months but i really don't know which one to get. I do want all the benefits of a prime lens but also want to be able to zoom in, im planning to focus on street photography in the night/day and car photography.
It is very hard to find "prime lens alike" zoom lens. What you probably want is great sharpness, compact size and fast aperture. Although there are such lenses, they usually cost a LOT. One such lens could be the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 (I made a review video here: ruclips.net/video/plUrY72t1OI/видео.html) it will be a great upgrade from your kit lens. Ticks almost all of your boxes.
@@TomsJurjaks Hey Toms, thank you so much for replaying. I watched the video you provided which confrimed my decision on getting the 18-50mm lens. Do you know if this lens goes on sale often or anything? Anyways, thank you so much.
Glad you have decided. I’ve never seen it being it on sale, its fairly “new” lens. I think it sells too well for Sigma to make a discount 😀 but check things like extended warranty or other goodies!
Salute this video/channel-we always enjoy the time spent viewing👍 If you can't shoot good pics and video with the kit lense, then you haven't earned the right to an upgrade! Just kidding...kinda. Under-rated little workhorses. I dig 'em,man! Even the other Sony kit lense, the 2870(?),can capture excellent video. The OSS and AF in these two bargain lenses is fun! Inexpensive to replace, really good for rugged outdoor shoots. Send them to us,we'll use them up until they're dust!
Kit lenses differ in quality. I have 4 and one is noticeably sharper and the AF - OSS is pretty good on my ancient a5100 bodies. The other 3 are same, all just average.
Check how good this lens is for PHOTOS: ruclips.net/video/ZqdYljh0f-E/видео.html

Well said buddy. Stepping into video world is a different ballgame, but it is also quite rewarding
whats the best lense for video for this camera?
What step up rings would you suggest to use for the 16-50 to 4/18-105?
if we would get 14mm to 50mm at 2.8f small lens, this would be the dream
Hello Toms. Can I use this lens on a Sony A7IV? If yes, do I need buy a adaptor or just put in the camera? Thanks

Can I have the links to buy the filter kit ?
what would be your first (maybe prime) lense to buy?
Sigma 30mm f1.4. One and only!

Great video! I appreciated the pros and cons. Definitely a lens for starting out and trying to be versatile, not really a master of anything though.
Thanks and yes, exactly that. Good to start out but then comes a point to upgrade

Hey Kahlee! Definitely. Gimbal + smooth movements will give you nice footage.

I only us Angelbird SD cards now

Very interesting. Good to know!
This wobbliness is killing me
Right? Getting dizzy over here 😵💫🥴
I sold mine because of rolling shutter
Rolling shutter is caused by the camera, not the lens.
