Great video. I have to agree with you on the kit lenses and the FE 50mm f1.8. Lens snobs will disparage these, but for me they are perfectly adequate. The 28-70mm came with my a7II and cost CAD $100 more than the body only option. I use it all the time for outdoor landscape photos and it's excellent. It's also a good option on my a6000 which gives me an effective range of 42-105mm. Same with the FE 50 f1.8 which works great on the APS-C body.
Thanks for the vid! I’m about to buy a Sony camera and this helps a lot. I already have a canon R6, R7 and R8….now adding Sony for new videos for my channels.
I jsut bought my first camera! I got the ZVE-10 w/ the kit lens and the sigma 16mm 1.4 for $800. Cam and kit lens were slightly used and the Sigma was open box. They look brand new to me 😂 I’m a broke fool so this was great for me!
The NEX-5 with the 18-55mm OSS lens was my first digital ILC digital. I still have it and, truth be told, as a carry around camera in good light for photos it's still pretty good and is super compact with a small prime or the newer kit lens !!!! I don't use it much any more because I have an a6000, a6300 and a6700 and I prefer a viewfinder but the NEX-5 served me well for quite a few years.
I have a a6400, how bad is it getting lens that are for full frames? I'll most likely end up upgrading to full frame next year but no idea how far into next year.
I thought this said "Licenses", that would be really cool if you could do a video on obtaining certain licenses that aren't as easy, such as TV Tokyo, Whom are known to be elusive in this area.
Thank you that's a great video. I currently use the excellent Tamron 28-200mm and the less good 50mm f1.8. The 50mm struggles to focus in low light and has noisy focusing. I'm considering changing to the Viltrox 40mm when it comes to England. Do you think it would be an improvement?
Yes it would! The 50mm is noisy focusing so I always have to use an off camera mic when I use the 50mm. The 40 is a lot quieter and more affordable! I think you’d like the switch!
Hi i´m new to the Camera Game i will Buy the Sony Ev Z10 II for my Vacation in Tokyo and i wanted to know which Lense would be the best. 80% Will be Videos and around 60% will be at night. Can someone recommend a good lense on a budget :)
@bobafett5323 it's a pity that they don't incorporate internal fans like lumix. I know some sony cameras do like the fx3, etc but I keep seeing videos and reviews saying that most of the cameras have no active cooling. People saying that they have to turn the high temperature mode on lots of the cameras. For longer shooting like a wedding or long interview, I imagine that would be a pain to deal with.
Kindly help me choosing a camera and lens with some basic lighting setup keeping in mind i’ll be using it mainly for filmmaking, cinematography and vfx shots (green screen etc.) and some descent photography. My Budget is INR 3 lakh or approx $3500.🙏
Hi Think Media, I hope this message finds you well! My name is Rhys, and I’m really excited about starting my own RUclips channel. I’m currently on a tight budget and can’t afford a camera right now, so I was wondering if you might have any used or unused cameras that I could borrow or use-any help would mean a lot to me. If you have any tips or advice for a beginner, I’d be incredibly grateful for that as well! Thank you so much for considering my request. Warm regards, Rhys

I love it! So glad you got your first camera. That is one of our favorites!
@@ThinkMediaTV thanks man! Appreciate it!
WHat about great macro lens for good product shots? That is what I am looking for currently for my Sony ZV-E10. Budget lens specifically.

There is a firmware update for the 18-55 OSS that adds phase-detect support. There are also Hasselblad branded copies.
I should check it out ! I still have that lens which I got with my NEX-5 back in 2011 ;-)
I’ve never heard of Viltrox before, but do love Sony & Sigma
We have been really impressed with Viltrox as of late!
saved me 5 hours, thanks
This is why i like vintage lens, i got a Sigma Mini Wide 28mm F2.8 (pk fit) for £7
The 50mm lens is so soft that i thought i wasn't in focus. Should have had a mark ii to fix that issue

The Sony 28-60mm is nicer for it's collapsible size, it's insanely small, way smaller than anything for APS-C.
yeah but the 28 is anything but wide
@@JJARCHIE I agree, but I mean instead of the 28-70. You can find the 28-60 fairly cheap second hand.
Also a fun lens!
what if i use green screen and make talking head videos ? which lens should i buy with sony zv mk2
The problem with sony is the overheating. Lumix is where it's at because of the internal cooling
Depends on the camera
@@ThinkMediaTVNever had an issue with any of my Lumix cameras overheating.
My A7C doesnt overheat at all bud and no recording limit. Way better AF and sensor than Lumix too.

Wrong title.
It should say:
6 lenses you should absolutely avoid!!
Those kit lenses mentioned are the bottom of the barrel.
No one should use them.
