My number one reason for impulse spending seems to be task avoidance. This became very clear to me during college when I would go on spending sprees and hyper fixate on certain items such as purses, shoes or journaling supplies to avoid thinking about the assignments or tasks I found boring. It also seems to happen more during the holidays since I moved states and live far from family.
Omg, I did that with farmville a few years ago. I was stuck in a few different ways and literally had nothing to do with my time other than keeping house, knitting or playing games on my iPad. It took moving and renovating a house to break that habit. And in a past life, I worked in bookkeeping. I knew it was literally throwing money away.

it’s a hard habit to break, ESPECIALLY when you’re bored. But awesome job I’m breaking the habit. That’s a struggle and a half.
