This is so validating! And everything you said about the hobbies being for *you* is really important.
Sometimes a new hobby sticks, and sometimes it doesn't.When it doesn't, sometimes it comes back later---and I never know when! But whatever! I know a bunch more about that thing, and the learning is so fun in itself. It took me years to dump the shame associated with my on-again, off-again hobbies and rabbit holes, but I'm now able to take a lot of joy in my own curiosity and love of learning.
Re spending, my rule has become to spend enough to have a satisfying experience (don't buy the trash ukulele, because it will just suck), but not so much that I'll be mad at myself if I dump the thing in two months (don't buy the antique ukulele!). I just try to go in knowing that it might not last, even though I FEEEEL like I'm going to love this forever.
    Thanks for your great channel!

Timing!!! I received a Polaroid camera for my 7th birthday and always loved taking pictures (still do, just not of myself). I used to think of doing it as a business one of MANY pre diagnosis. Recently I’ve decided that I’m going to instead do this as a hobby! Can’t wait to listen!

Oh Looooord, I turned passions into jobs and not sure it is a good idea lol 😅
You made very valid points. My current hobbies ( the ones are really enjoy 😊) are reading novels, perfume collecting, cooking, crocheting, painting and coloring. I worked away from diy skincare/haircare and makeup.
