Sorry for repeating comments on sheets and razors two days in a row. I changed the order on publishing some videos. I forgot I had duplicate comments. I think I filmed them 10 days apart. If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.
Yes, I even used them to move condos. For a small fee, they help you move the boxes door to door. I left a nice tip and it was still only $15. Moving a large item in a van is not much more than using a cab
It's great if you like big cities. I love the energy of the place. Other guys can't wait to get somewhere more mellow. Maybe that will be me someday. But, no time soon
When I came to Thailand last time and had the same problem finding a sheet. I ended up going to an Indian area in Bangkok. They had a mall full of people selling material so I just bought about 3 metres of cotton sheet material and used that. Cost like 120 baht.
Ya I considered that. But I ended up getting a flat sheet on my trip to Australia. Lazada also had some, but I'd guess they were thin material. I don't really care, but a nice set of sheets is good to have
Hey Joe... I was just thinking while I watched your video again. When I plan my trip to come to Thailand to check it out for a month do I need to be concerned about getting food poisoning? If so... do you have any tips to help avoid it? Thanks in advance Jeff...
It's always a concern any time you travel. I never get sick, but I've carried anti diarrhea medicine for years. Plus, I had my doctor write me a prescription for some anti-biotics in case I really got sick. If you really felt bad, the last thing you want to do is go find a hospital. That being said, even without insurance, going to the hospital would probably be less than $100 at a world class facility. Maybe less than $30 at the local clinic. I wouldn't make a special trip, but email your doc for some traveler's diarrhea pills. He might give you a few pills. My guy gave me a dozen. Never needed them, but good to keep in the backpack. I brush my teeth with tap water, but stick to bottle water. Try not to use ice in small places. Larger bars, etc.. will use clean ice. Bring some tums, you might have a small reaction, but it's worth it for some great food. If you move over, you'll get adjusted pretty fast. But, they do a pretty good job of keeping things clean. I even wash fruit and vegetables in tap water and never get an upset stomach. Now India or even Manila, the water is brownish. Thailand is not bad.
Grab for the win and they bring grocieries to ur door. I prefer patts to bkk for sure. Chill in my condo and enjoy life Come to visit. Pratumnak hill Best place in patts
I've been to Pratumnak Hill many times. Nice area. I'll visit again soon. First time in Pattaya was 1984 in the US Navy. I agree, Grab is the best. Bolt is a little cheaper, but using cash is a pain.
@@EagerExpat awesome. I visit bkk frequently also. Great city my favorite however after a week or so i need to get out. Traffic, noise, pollution galore. But patts and bkk combo is the greatest in the world. No competition for me
@@DarkoFitCoach That's a great combo. I'm off to Hua Hin in a few days. I love the city. It's New York City at a 1990 price. But, ya I need to visit a beach every now and then

Ha ha far from an expert on anything. I'm just a new guy showing what I see. I'm Mexican. Villa is prounonced Via. It's town in Spanish. No way you would hear Vill Law. There's also. Pancho Villa!!! I guess I just say it automatic. There's also many towns around California like Villa Robles. Even on English traffic reports, you'll hear, crash near Via Robles. Plus I lived on Villa Madrid. Or Via Madrid. If someone said Vill LA Robles, they wouldn't live in California
Big C and Lotus are like Wal Mart. But nothing is as cheap as Wal-Mart. Even with inflation, the US has cheap products compared to much of the world. I saw a jar of peanut butter in Australia for $15 US. Here, it's probably $11. In the US, it might have gone up, but it's still $4
It's a tropical place, but Dec, Jan, Feb are usually the best weather in Bangkok. The rain isn't too bad. Even in that video, it floods at 7pm, by 7am no signs it ever happened. It just takes a while to drain away all that rain
It's slowing down. November things calm down. No rain Thu, Fri or Sat in Bangkok. You could see lightning 20 miles away, but we lucked out. Last night Sunday, it rained for an hour. Hopefully, it's calming down. November it usually calms down in Bangkok. I'd say Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb are the perfect weather months. Best chance of zero rain and less heat. Still heat, but less heat
Compared to many places I've been, I've rarely seen a motorbike go down. In Vietnam or India, you'll see a crash everyday. Bangkok is a controlled chaos. The rain just slows things down. I'd much rather ride a moto taxi at 20mph than a car on a California freeway at 80 mph. People slamming on the brakes and on cell phones. I agree, don't drive a bike if you're not comfortable. But using the taxi bike is pretty safe.
I don't believe I said not having a license was ever a good idea. I'd guess you'd be in real trouble. If you drive in Thailand you need a Thai license. I don't believe in the international license. Too much gray area. Many people drive around without one, but that's a gamble. Even on a motorbike you can cause damage.
@@pensiobengt That's to settle speeding or no helmet. They don't care about a license. They care about that 500 bill. Get in an accident and that's real trouble.

Hey Joe. Good video!! Curious... Do you know if Big C will deliver if you purchase an item you can fit in a grab taxi?
I don't know. I've used Lala app to move large items, like my bike and office chair. You pick what size car or truck you need. It's really cheap

You can find large, white, flat sheets at Makro very good prices
I only go to Makro on Soi 22. I've never seen any sheets, towels, etc.. But, I'll ask next time. Thanks for the tip
Makro in Pattaya has the flat sheets near their bath towels. Just a small section on a shelf that looks like table cloths in clear plastic wrappers.
