This is a solid review with great information. I bought one because I thought it looked interesting. I didn’t expect much, but I was (more than) pleasantly surprised. I’m about 1500 rds into it without any problems, and this is without cleaning. If you’re curious as to durability, watch the review by Honest Outlaw where he threw it into a pond, dropped it, beat it, etc and couldn’t induce a jam AND it stayed zeroed.
I’m glad I bought one of these. I’m also glad that this video confirmed my purchase was a good one.
This is an awesome firearm. I have mine sighted in at 50 yards with 115 gr ammo,it is very functional and accurate enough to punch holes in 6” plates at 100 yards.
your not a professional speaker, more like a real person ,you seem unaffected by corporate like some of the famous guys,,so your more beleavable,,and don't speak over the heads of new gun buyers, out of everybody else's demonstrations I'm going to buy the gun from your point of veiw ,I like the way you delt with the stock issue, the feed issues that all guns have. So I trust you with the things i don't know what to look at..you seem genuine and meet the average persons information needs fully. Searching for the right word and not reading from a script is a good thing ,,,makes you one of us..good luck with you site.
I got one soon after available. Very user friendly, accurate and dependable.
I respect this man's opinion over most on this platform. He is realistic, concise, and practical. No fluff or garbage filler- just observations.
Thank you sir and thanks for watching.

And not having a three minute tacticool intro montage at the beginning is refreshing!
@Sporkmaker5150 I’ll work on that. Maybe a 4minute cool guy intro? 😂
I hate it how many of the gun manufacturers do not put iron sights on their rifles and carbines,, I know more people are putting optics on their weapons and dont use iron sights, but I think they should at least have flip up sights for the people that do like them
My daughter-in-law, with almost no shooting experience, was able to just wear out the bull's eye with my FPC. It is a lot of fun to shoot. Never had a failure yet. Good video, good info.
I love how objective you can be to make sure you give people the proper info👍
You are the first person that I have seen use the stock mag release the right way! The other reviewers push the buttons and complain that it seems backwards because it releases the opposite mag. I look forward to watching more of your vids, that alone was worth subscribing and a like!
It took me a good 20 minutes to figure that out 😅
Ava Flanell had a really good technique for it.
Great show, I love no BS reviews.
London Ontario Canada, just purchased one today!....Thanks much for your input!
I just started using it, it's everything my old broken kaltec wasn't 👍
New to your channel. Excellent review!!! Just picked up an FPC, and glad to hear about the aftermarket buttstock. Thank you for serving our community!
Great review. Having a hard time not going out and buying another one. Bought the first one for my wife, but it's so much fun to shoot, now I want my own.... lol
Glad the algorithm put your video on my feed. Subscribed!
Another great review. Thanks again. Can’t wait to come back
I've watched lots of reviews on this gun. Definitely the best Review that I watched. I'm about to go buy one now.
Excellent review and information!..Thanks for the candid assessment.
Thank you! Jerry Michulek shot 3 inch groups at 100 with 90 gr. With that carbine
Thanks for ruining my day. 😭😂
It’s a hell of a gun buts a really hell of a gun for the money.
Thanks for watching!

I was in the process of buying the keltec 2000 and the sales lady said she also had a s&w 9mm as soon as I saw it I changed my mind real quick, don’t regret buying the s&w 9mm after all
Just got an FPC this was extremely helpful. Thanks
Great review and range demo by Tactical Jim Gaffigan. I see why there are no hecklers at his shows! Subscribed
Great review. I have one and love it
Awesome review!!! I have this weapon and will put it through its paces as well.
Love mine. I'm only about 800rds into it, but absolutely flawless. I'm a former army combat medic, so I carry a trauma set with me regardless of where I am. Great idea for a quick kit in the bag. I'll set mine up as a backup.
I plan to use mine in a scabbard off my backpack while hiking into alpine lakes in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in central Idaho. Should be a great travel companion.
Excellent review and advice!
Bought it when it first came out. I loved that it folded and fit in my 11x17 safe. The ability to carry mags in the stock is cool for a truck gun. I bought the extended 32-round ProMags and they work great. Firearm is easy to break down and clean. It cycles every 9mm that I have thrown at it. I wish the folding retention was a lot tighter. And the bolt release is tricky to engage.
Really appreciate this info, and great review
Great review! I think I need one of these. New subscriber.
By far the best in depth review of this firearm.
Cant get mine away from my son.he is testin the hell out of it with 0 issues.no matter ammo.love it with the romeo5
Great job great reviewer i enjoyed it thanks for the 2A truths
Outstanding review, great information.
Thank you 😊
We have one and we love it !
Promag Smith & Wesson® M&P®9 9mm (32) Rd - Blue Steel magazines work with the S&W FPC 9mm.
S&W magazines need to be 15 rounds double stack or greater for compatibility with S&W FPC 9mm.
If using 17 or 23 round magazines, there is Xgrip Mag Spacer S&w M&pc 9, which fill the grip handle so not pinching your pinky.
I don’t consider the mag holder in stock to be any type “quick draw” functionality. Just useful keeping extra msgs and end weight. Inserting long magazines there can mess with the hold grip.
Mcarbo makes a bluffer plug to soften recoil Also nice break compensator. They have a trigger kit as well.
I’d recommend a vertical stop grip. Maybe a single point sling vs a 2 point. As you either need a rail mount as point or qd point on the right side, which tends leaves firearm flip over.
Overall it’s fun gun to shoot. Easy for shorter stature or ladies to shoot.
Very good review.
Great review
Great review! Have you noticed hammer marks in the bolt (around the back of the firing pin)? I watched a video and looks like S&W is sending replacement if requested. Do see that normal? Thanks!
Just a great review! 👍
awesome and informative video thank you sir
Definitely going to have to pick up one of those Garmin Xero C1's.
They’re on our website for preorder/backorder. We’re getting in about 10 a week.
I am going to get one because if you like I know I will....... and thanks for showing this video......
Subscribed no boring filler just straight facts.
Welcome to the Paramount Fam!
Thanks for watching!

Great review brother i mean dang good one. i own one of these fun fun plinker minimum recall the wife loves it.
Thanks I am considering getting an FPC
Awesome Review ✌️
Good review, i intend on purchasing one , just wanted to make sure it was the right decision . kel tec, just wasn't right for me
Thank you
Great video
While you can pull up on the spare mag lock I find it easier to push down on the left side to release the right mag
Yes, traumatic injury training, thank you. By the way, great gun, great fun, 1000+ rounds through mine with dot and Surefire, multiple mags that work with my Spec.
Just purchased one and I agree with everything you stated. On a side note, the link for the adjustable stock leads to the cart on their website. When I searched for accessories for the FPC nothing was showing for the stock.
Thanks for the heads up. They must have changed the link because I tested it after posting. They may have stopped making it.
Thanks, Gary
Awesome video :) you can also just push the mag release in the butstock instead of lifting it how you did :)
Just bought one of these FPC’s 3 days ago. They’ve been kinda tough to get for me. I’m I’m gone 5 days a week. My shop would get 2-3 and they’d be gone before I got home l. I got lucky and bought their last one. 😂 Took it straight out of the case, no sites and sent a few down the yap. Took it home and oiled it down.
I got the scope on the way but Mannnnnnn that little thing is a blast to shoot.
I think you just sold me on one. I have the Ruger pc carbine which I like but it is much slower to deploy thar the s&w.
So its a m&p 9 mm so the 32rd mag or the 50 rd for the m&p 9mm will fit this rifle i mean the 23rd mags that come with seem like enough but the 50 rd drum sounds like too much fun
While the magazine release in the stock is not to your liking (pushing down opposite side to release), I find it very easy to pull the catch up with my thumbnail (which is not long, BTW) to release the stored magazine from the same side. Might be tough with gloves. You could drill a hole and put a paracord loop through for an easy pull to release. Regardless, ergonomically carrying spares on belt is the way to go, I'd only ever use the mags stored in stock as a last-ditch resort. Thanks for the review.
It doesn’t bug me tbh.
Anyone know about a trigger upgrade, which apex trigger will work, if any?
QUESTION? When you replace the stock do you lose the extra mag storage?
Mine's replaced the muzzleheavy Ruger pc9 as home defense. I like hot Active Duty 115 grain. 1600+fps and 650 foot pounds energy.
This is what I like in a firearm reviewer. Give me the pros and cons and the aftermarket. Shoot the firearm. Some humor. That's all that the common man and woman wants. I am 90% sure I want the FPC. But, now S&W puts out the Sport 3. I have a Sport 2. Great gun. Want vs Want.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the Paramount Family!
-Gary
Actually there is a company that makes after market handguards for the FPC. The only potential downside is it might not lock when folded
I own one and its incredible
Heads up everybody, I have been releasing the bolt catch on the FPC with my thumbnail on my offhand. Yes it was a full magazine every time. Enjoy! No, I did not have the nasty long thumbnails.. lol
I wanted to love mine and I do.
Mag release can be flipped?
Would I be correct to assume that Shield mags are not compatible?
With the optic it is dead on when you shoot your target👍
Does the after market butt stock also allow for storing the two additional magazines??
BTW - great review! 👍
It does not.
What was S&W thinking with that safety? Certainly not tactical ergonomics.
Glad to see this review. Got this carbine myself recently. Fun to shoot. Only have aperture sights - not interested in anything that requires a battery. A downside to this carbine - it is a major pain in the rear end to disassemble and clean. Need multiple separate tools.
What multiple tools? I watched some videos before attempting to break down and found it extremely easy. Even the pin holding the bolt falls out when turned upside down. Perhaps a small screw driver to push the pin up so you can grab it. You can literally break down with no tools.
@@jimmystewart7954 With mine I need a little something to push that stud holding the spring cap, then I need pliers to get that damn little pin out of the bolt carrier, and then during reassembly I need a long wooden peg to ram down the bolt assembly. Everything kinda 'sticks', even after light lubrication. Maybe it'll get easier over time, but for now, it's a chore.
@@StudSupreme yes that sucks. Mine pushes out with my finger with some coaxing. The little pin sometimes drops out but I grab it with some forceps. I was the guy that dropped my trigger preventing the magazine from loading. We live and learn. Good shooting.
Burris 332 with etched reticle is great!
I own the fpc, I like it. I dislike the stock as well but like the gun.
Would you belive as a public school teacher in Texas we took a course in stopping traumatic bleeding from the US Border Patrol? Useful and important information. We were given equipment to match.
I wonder if that aftermarket stock shortens overall length 😮
If you find out if there's an Apex trigger available for it, an update would be greatly appreciated. I love mine, but my Apex trigger in my 2.0 has me spoiled. Also, $575 at palmetto state armory. First video I've seen from you guys, Subscribed
Or you could just ask Apex😂
30:07 - I thought the bag came with straps so it could be used like a backpack? Other videos I've seen reference them and show then, but haven't seen them actually installed and used yet
Thanks for the content and review!
No it’s just a shoulder strap.
@@paramounttactical ah! Thanks for the feedback, so it's really suitcase style, or gym bag style, and that's it for your choices with the bag?
How does it compare to the other breakopen folding 9mm rifle, the keltec sub 2000?
The FPC, IMO is much better.
8 5 is a monster score
Does Floyd’s not carry the butt stock anymore? I can’t find it
Where were you a year ago? LOL I found the exact same problem with the ETS Magazines, i was so pissed. Now i have 4 stick mags that rot in my closet since the rest of my 9mms are glocks Heres an alternative- ProMag metal magazines work, also italian ACT-MAGs work as well.
Is the mag release reversible for us wrong handed shooters?
Yes
Mines carried in my vehicle for work in case SHTF
I would love to see you review the Keltec Sub2000 Gen3 now that they conquered the folding issue if you run an optic. Also they say now it has a lighter trigger.
I’ll have to check it out and I might just do that.
@paramounttactical I subbed. This is the first video of your's I have seen. I really enjoyed it. Well done.
@@UncleDanBand64 thanks and thanks for watching!
You got about 200 more to check out. Get to work! 😂
-Gary
@@paramounttactical lol, 10-4
It's this or the kel tec sub 2000 gen 3.
In regards to the ETS mags, some guy said you to shave a little bit off the top… take that as you will.
Does the rifle have 2 points for a sling?
Is the sling in the carry bag for the bag or the gun?
Thanks
There’s a strap for the bag in the kit. Yes it has 2 sling swivel attachment points on each side.
No front sling mount,
Really like mine; it’s nice because I also have a M&P 9. Did you say the 23 rounders don’t work?
The extended ETS mags didn’t work. All the M&P mags work fine. Other people have commented below on some other aftermarket brands that work as well.
@@paramounttacticalis that a Sig optic on there? How’s its performance, reliability/durability?
@@mattwalters6834 it’s a Holosun. They’re good for the price.
What affordable red dot optic would you recommend?
Any of the Holosuns that are $150+.
At that price point you’re getting similar technology and anything above you’re paying for additional build quality and durability. If it’s for self defense, the $300-$400 models are where you want to be.
🤘🏻
Near .357mag velocities---nice.
I don't think you can have that plus one round if it is folded. So you have 17 in the grip mag not 17+1.
29:55 ah ha moment for me....woot woot...made my day. (Wasn't that good of a day)
Unfortunately the state that i live in it comes with 3 ten round magazines 😝😝. Although I still love this carbine
Also here in Canada😅
@Paramount Tactical
I don't want to be a contrarian, but I bought one of these and have been doing some training with it.
While the butt stock mag release *will* work in the way that you demonstrate, after working with the rifle a while, I believe it's set up to work as follows:
*empty*
-drop empty magazine
-reach toward mag storage w/ off-hand
-w/ off-hand thumb on the inside mag, depress mag release catch *on opposite side from the mag to be extracted* w/ middle finger.
-draw forward on released mag w/ thumb, following index and middle finger forward from the release catch position to support the now free magazine.
-open off-hand elbow slightly and pivot wrist forward, magazine is now in optimum position for insertion, w/ no wasted motion.
IMHO this is an easier, faster, and more reliable reload action on the stock platform. The inside mag is a slightly different action, but same principle, with an opposite switch depression instead of trying to hook that tiny lever with your finger in a pinch. The position of the mag release switch seems to favour a German subgun-style reload position, so keep that in mind.
Let me know what you think if you try it!
Love the input brother. I only had the one day to play around with it so the long term experience with it from you is appreciated. I plan on getting a couple for us and my boys but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. That’s what this channel is all about. It’s a community where we can all share our knowledge and experience to make us all better, more informed, and improve our readiness to defend ourselves or just have a better experience out on the range doing what we love.
Thanks for sharing!
-Gary
It is priced right
So the same Glock ets mags will fit?
No. Glock mags will not fit.
Dumb question but what happens if the barrel is in the open position and it is fired? Is there a safety so that can’t happen?
Yes it will not fold with a round chambered ,was designed that way for that reason ✌️
@@irishfrost779 I ended up getting one and I love it!!!!!! The only issue I have had is the thread protector on the end of the barrel wants to unscrew after a clip or two. I have only twisted it on with my hand. I don’t want to mess something up.
@@wdscookingreview I would get a flash hider for they have them at Kaw Valley precision they are pretty inexpensive if your not going to use a suppressor that is ✌️
