That’s great, but can I ask what is to stop it happening again and again, when you send to ZWO they remove all the silicon stuff and replace it with something else so it can’t happen again…👍🏻

Absolutely, and if the camera is still within warranty I would not do this myself, unless instructed to do so by the servicing agent. I wouldn't want to send it directly to ZWO, though, because of the lead time which could be over a month, but I did send it back to the european service center in Germany, which by the way has always yielded great service, to be treated for this problem. This happened when I had only owned the camera for 9 months and it was still under warranty. The thermal pad was exchanged for the improved model, and the camera cleaned, but the problem did not go away, and I have now done the servicing myself twice since then. Maybe the procedure has been improved since March 2022, and I would absolutely advice you to return the camera for service if you see this problem, unless, of course, you like to tinker like I do. As you can see in the video, the process is not very demanding.
      Cheers,
      Flemming

Hello , how long did you have the camera before the oil problem started ? thank you for the video...

You're welcome, and thank you for asking. I bought the camera in July 2021, and had it serviced for this problem in March 2022. Supposedly the problem should have been fixed by exchanging the thermal pad on the back of the sensor, but as you can see in my video the problem is still there, and since the procedure is quick and I don't have to be without the camera, I don't mind doing it myself. Mind you, if it keeps happening I might reconsider, simply because of the cost of materials needed for the cleaning. :)

@@Orionneb Apart from the oil leak problem the ASI2600 is a great camera, and I would hate to think that I had dissuaded anyone from buying it. The problem may be solved on recent models, maybe you can check up on that. CS
