Quite the blast from the past, this GMC Parlor Coach was once operated by Academy. After TTMG's Brooklyn Focus Trip, this bus came out for a special run around the city. I am unsure of the powertrain but I think this has a Detroit Diesel 8V71 engine.

Greyhound ran these coaches years ago they called them Buffalo coaches, they had the three rows up front where each occupant could see out the front window, a novel idea. They were built by GMC, and where one of the last coaches GMC built before GMC start building coaches for Greyhound...Greyhound eventually went to MCI coaches built by Greyhound.
I snapped a pic of one in person (in bus?) with its original manual stick shift 4-speed non-syncro double clutch tranny and Detroit Diesel 871.

Sounds like an 8V-71/torque converter combo, exactly like SEPTA's old Flexes from the 1970's.. Nice!! Going to my play list.

I remember seeing those busses passing by my house in Brooklyn New York when command Bus line had them Now all of those classic busses are gone and the New buses out now is garbage 🗑 😑 💯💯💯
