Lovely Succulents but the petrified wood is a wonderful touch, I love it. The Joyce Tulloch Variegata is looking so pretty in it's pot. See you soon...Liz
Liz, I’m forever grateful that you share these videos & almost always learn something when I watch your videos. 🙏🏽 It’s true what you said about the sedums, I’ve lost a few due to the heat now. It’s taken me a couple of years to figure out that they prefer a bit of shade through summer. The sounds when you’re potting up the new babies is soooo satisfying. lol
Wow! That was a detailed lesson Ms lizk and i really learned a lot, specially you are using soil mix for tropical country. Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for another marvelous how to video Liz!! I looove watching you go “goo goo gah gah” over your online purchases! I’ve been meaning to try your tropical soil mix. My rainy weather is fast approaching and I need to get on it! P.s the only thing I like about RUclips taking away our ability to review the amount of dislikes on a video; I don’t get angry at whomever DARED to dislike LizK!!! She’s impossible not to LOVE!
Leafy succulents such as Echeveria, Pachyphytum, Graptoveria, Crassula, etc, for example will need to be brought indoors in winter and grown under a grow light to maintain their shape and color.
Hi Liz 🤗 dont know what to say. This video is excellent.I love watching your videos its my way of relaxing. Lovely pots and beautiful choice of plants. Thank you Liz. God bless you and your family. I miss Pedro talking in the background.🤣
I was potting this at 3am, so Pedro was asleep. But you can see Pedro in his channel called "PEDRO the Budgie." I just uploaded a video of him talking yesterday. Link below. Thanks for watching. PEDRO the Budgie Wants To Feed Daddy - ruclips.net/video/MQqDTjZGMic/видео.html

Liz, I have liquid kelp. And I had a horrible problem this year with watering my succulents but the soil staying dry in the middle I actually lost a lot of plants because of it. Once I figured out what was happening now I soak every single pot rather than just running water through 5 to 10 times but is my liquid kelp the same thing as your soil wetter or do I have to purchase something that specifically says soil wetter/conditioner?
I have holes on all my pots. Below are two videos that I hope you'll find useful. Thanks for watching. 1. What to use as planter for succulents - ruclips.net/video/HMKi9eBmJs8/видео.html 2. HOW TO Drill Holes on Ceramics, Porcelain, Glass To Use As Planter -ruclips.net/video/cikNYvinzt8/видео.html
When it comes to Echeveria, Sedum/Sedeveria or Moonstone type succulents... The bottom leaves will have a wilted look or an unhappy look. Not bouncy. You can also pick up the pot and if it's light, then it needs watering. Most of the time, if I'm not sure whether to water or not....I don't water. Aeonium on the other hand....loves water. No need to wait for shriveled leaves. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Liz
Hi there, I have alot of babies that grew from leaves. they are stretched out, how can I save them. I dont want to chuck them out. hope you have some advise. they were in indirect sun, no full sun ever.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK I apologize, I’m asking is it ok to put a rooting agent on succulent cuttings? I purchased on line they are just basic succulents they just won’t seem to root for me
@@karmababy3366 I tried using them once but made no different for me. Sometimes it's a matter of waiting. Some plants will grow fast and others can sometimes take forever to germinate or even not at all like the Echeveria Romeo. It's important to know the names of what you have to know for sure what they can do.
Depends on the brand but the ones I use are made from Bull Kelp (Durvillaea potatorum), Chile Bull Kelp (Durvillaea Antarctica) and Knotted Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum).
They look absolutely lovely. I just do not understand, why, if you have a rainy season upcoming, you would put those lovely succulents into little pots with no drainage? All it is going to take is one good rain to fill those pretty little containers with an inch or more of water and there is no way for that water to get out! Even with the best draining soil there is no place for the water to go. I think that I would have drilled at least a small hole in the bottom of those little pots and raised them up a bit so that the water could drain out. Since those little pots are made of glazed ceramic the moisture is going to sit in there and the soil will stay soggy. Those beautiful little containers would work well inside where you have control over the climate conditions and are able to limit how much water enters into them. Even if you go outside and pour the water out of the little containers after every rainy day you are still going to have really wet soil. That top dressing is also going to help hold that moisture in the soil. I do hope it all works out for you and those lovely little plants.
Amazing collection, looks like a huge succulent storage! Great dear. 👍

I love your top dressing, what kind is that one with lots of colors together
Where you bought it?
It's called Gritty Mix from Mineraland here in Australia. I bought it from a local seller.

Thank you Liz ❤
Do you have to use a special drill to make the holes in the ceramic type bowls/pots?

What too dressing are you using? It’s beautiful!
It's a combination of Pumice, Zeolite, Scoria, Diatomaceous Earth, Vermiculite and Granite.
Oh, and, does it matter what type of pebbles you use?
Any stones can be used for top dressing, but I'd stay away from Calcite and Zeolite.

I've used a plain seaweed solution(not soil wetter) and it also worked. Just takes a little longer(an hour or so) compared to the soil wetter.
maam how did you managed to make holes from those ceramic pots or they already have holes!sorry my laptop wont allow me to type question mark.hehe

Sooo to determine if the soil is dry and ready to be watered,,,, u can tell this how? Some succulents dont show shrivelled leaves.

Where did you find that great watering stick? What is that type called?
It's called GARDEN SPRAYER available at garden nurseries and hardware stores.
👍👍
What is the flowering plant at 20:05? I didn't quite catch it.
Aeonium smithii.
