  • This is how you adjust the Fronius Transpocket 180 and Accupocket settings so the machine doesn’t cut out during welding. Check out my other related videos

    Good info brother. I used a lot of HTP machines and I make a lot of videos on them but these Fronuis machines look really cool. Keep up the great work.

    Great video Chris,
    This is an awesome feature of the Transpockets. I personally hate the long crazy arc when pulling out. I like the cutout voltage set on the lower side (35v or less) If it is cutting out on a user on a lower cutout voltage I have found that it is due to one of three factors. 1. You are buried in too deep 2. You are keeping way too long an arc. 3. You are not staying in the puddle and trying to weld in the slag (if this is the case than you have issues no machine can fix). These things will weld 16 gauge all day with no issues with a 3/32 7018 with a pulse of setting of 2-6 hz and amps set at 82. These things make welding uphill feel like cheating when using pulse. I find myself grabbing the Transpocket for jobs that I would normally use a Mig welder for.

      Well said....I’m right with you on the Transpocket being my go to machine. Even on the TIG side 100%. People always think they need bells and whistles but at the end of the day it’s a CC machine without high frequency.

    Thank you. I just subscribed to your channel. I ordered a 180 transpocket stick/ tig yesterday. I have stick welded since high school and this is my first tig attempt, and I am 70 years old. This video, I am sure, saved me from freaking out in the future. Any and all new info you put out about this machine will be helpful. Also, do you know what size generator, or inverter, is required to power this welder in stick mode if I am ever in a remote area with no electricity source available? Thanks again!!

      poppahonda Thanks for watching 👌 Glad to hear you ended up with a Transpocket 180. You will be very pleased especially since you have the time under the hood. I’ll try and do other videos on the machine in regards to setup so it helps along the way.. On 110 V I don’t have any issue with 2400 Watts and this will give you 120 Amps output depending on if it’s a 20 AMP breaker. At full amperage you will need around 4800 Watts but you won’t need the full amperage range especially in stick mode. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions

    Very informative video. I’m thinking about buying a transpocket, with tig, are you using a scratch start or is their controls on the torch

      Edgar Banuelos Thanks. It would be lift arc TIG on Transpocket. There is a new machine called TransTig 170 or 210 with high frequency as well. Same size

    Hi Chris, i've just bought my transpocket 180 and would like to know if it will run at my 2.5 kva generator and how many amps can i use. Thank you very much from Brazil

    • @chris_b_liven
      @chris_b_liven  5 лет назад

      Diego Ribeiro 2.5 will be good to run the machine at fully capacity on 110 V. I run this machine off 2400 Watts all the time

      Thanks man, but mine is not dual voltage, it is only 220v

      Diego Ribeiro You will be alright just find the point where the machines kicks off. Start off at 120 amps and weld and keep turning it up until it kicks out. You should at minimum get 120 amps

    what do you think of the stick pulse feature. ?

      @chris_b_liven  5 лет назад +2

      hightrux I found it really nice in out of position & cover pass welding. I want to test it with hardfacing rod very soon. Maybe this will be my next video - Stick Pulse 🤘
