- Chamonix was a fairy tale comp for me. It has been on the circuit for many years now, and I have always struggled on this competition, including missing semifinals in 2014. Take a closer look at this successful world cup and the important boost of motivation and confidence for the upcoming World Championships.

Let him use the climbing footage you buffoons
Spam the official competition video with comments of "Let Adam Ondra use footage from your events!"
Meh it doesn't really bug me that he can't use the footage - i've seen it already and this makes the video more interesting really, rather than a highlights reel. It does however confirm once again that the IFSC is run by morons.
It's proper self-harm to the sport of climbing. Whoever made that decision has to realise....
1. Seasoned climbers will mock your decision with derision.
2. Random arrivals at Adams channel are far less entranced and less unlikely to follow up via other channels/media
3. Yer total bams, the lot of ya
4. Money talks, yeh money talks (there a song in there somewhere...)

Awkward with all the extra footage of the crowds instead of climbing footage. IFSC should reconsider their decision. Adam is a great inspiration for climbing and therefore an asset for IFSC and the evolution of the sport.
Collaboration is modern marketing get into it IFSC not out of it.
Well, I guess I have to disagree. I found it rather interesting to see the crowd's reaction. Especially agains the background that all climbers, in their interviews, highlighted the special atmosphere in Chamonix. That being said, I do agree that it is a pity that the IFSC is so stubborn and does not allow them to use clips from the comp. It's true, a climbing video without actually seeing people climb is somewhat stupid.
Adam, You rock, but what can we do to put pressure on the IFSC to let you use footage?

Not really on the IFSC. They sold the broadcasting rights off in the U.S (and somewhere else I can't remember).

You guys did a great job editing together a video without using clips from the comp. I wish IFSC would let you use them, but you all did a great job regardless. Keep up the good work!
Totally felt the same. Loved all the interviews with other climbers and commentators. They proved they can put together an excellent video without the need to use footage of the competition itself. Very impressive!
Now I just hope the IFSC changes their decision on this as Adam's videos are actually excellent marketing opportunities for them

This really was a great comp. I just wish somehow you could work out a neal with the IFSC to be able to use climbing footage in your videos. No offense to the IFSC, but the quality of the cinematography in your videos is leaps and bounds ahead of the livestreams that the IFSC uploads to RUclips.

I always watch the finals on IFSC but its so much better for the story to see the climbing on Ondra's channel too.

Although I'm as disappointed as others that the IFSC won't let you use the footage of the climbs, I really enjoy the short interviews with other climbers you guys incorporate into the vlog. One get's more of a feeling how the other world class climbers might be in person, without them having such a strong youtube presence as Adam....

It's really a shame that there can be no footage of Adam climbing in these videos. Him talking about the routes and seeing them simultaneously was super inspirational and educational. Whoever is standing in the way of showing this footage should know they are hurting the growth of the sport and the interest surrounding climbing.

You would think it is in the interests of the IFSC to allow footage of climbing to be played on other youtubers, at least on Adam Ondras channel for the purposes of promotion. Are you working something out with the IFSC?

Has it been confirmed that it's the IFSC blocking the footage, rather than the event sponsors? Given that Adam obviously has his own sponsors and there may be a conflict there?
Love these videos, but they don't really work unless you show the competition. I strongly suggest you find a way to show them.

Adam should just use footage of his climbs despite IFSC’s wishes. He has all the leverage here. Could you imagine in the worst case, IFSC not allowing Ondra to climb because of RUclips drama? It would be a nightmare for them.

I used to live watching Adam's videos but I have to admit that without the climbing I'm finding it hard to be interested in them. It's utterly ridiculous that he can't use footage he has shot himself.
