I greeted someone from South Africa, in Dutch, ( because I didn't know to in Afrikaans) and she very beautifully replied "Aangenaam kennis!", which was immediately understandable. Afrikaans is a very beautiful language also.

I’m Australian, but my pop was Dutch. It’s such a shame because he never got around to teaching the family how to speak Dutch. He however did teach us the word Dag and every time we’d leave my grandparents house we’d always say that to him instead of saying goodbye. He sadly passed away 2 years ago, so Dag is a really special and meaningful world for my family now.
