    For those in the comments who don't understand that borders are not set in stone for thousands of years: RU Orthadox church vwry much has Byzantine influence from a long time ago. Christianity is not native to the russian continent originally. It's actually really fascinaitng to look back in time on the cultural diffusion that has been happenning within the Slavic people for centuries.

      @@ConfusedHummingBird-jp5fnfrom what I understand Znameny chant had its origins as essentially the Byzantine chant imported from Mount Athos and translated into Slavonic
