I do not agree. Emotion during prayer is a nice experience, but it is not necessary. Patience and faithfulness are what actually makes prayer powerful, even more when the prayer is in spite of emotions and lack thereof. It's easy to pray when you're happy, sad, angry about something - but when you feel nothing, that's when prayer becomes a real challenge and a powerful tool

I sinned today. I was disgusted of myself. Then i took the bible, tried to pray as much as i can. I remembered that Jesus died for our sins, we must go forward even after a sin. Because God wants us to get up after the fall and march with him on the path of life. Imagine this. You pass one day, and awaken in an unfamiliar place and you see someone before you, they cannot be observed because of their radiance but you know in your heart and soul who they are, what they are, you fall to your knees wailing your unworthiness, and they say unto you, in the warmest, softest voice that fills you with a heart wrenching warmth and acknowledgement of your very being, existence and every ounce of suffering you've endured, every mistake you've made and every love you've enjoyed "I forgive you."
The fact that you can imagine that "someone" proves he isn't God, open your eyes and use your brain, a person who keeps making mistakes intentionally and doesn't repent is not equal to someone who repents when they sin and do not repeat it, God is just he rewards those who do good and punishes those who spread corruption. It makes me sad to see someone like you who has such a wish but is on the wrong path, Jesus isn't God he never claimed to be, he was a messenger of Allah and worshiped him, I advise you to do some research and find the straight path so you reach the salvation you seek.

Please pray for me. I’m at my lowest. I’m struggling as a Greek Orthodox Christian because of temptations, my anxiety, and intrusive thoughts. I constantly fall back into sin even after repenting and I am finally going to try to change my life and turn to God. I would also appreciate prayers for my lust and materialism. As much as I try to stop, I feel weak and the devil winning over. I repented to this video about 3 months ago during some dark days. Even though I do not understand what is being said, to God it does not matter. I felt his presence and his forgiveness being called by the men chanting. I was truly saved by God's grace and if you're reading this I offer you a prayer. I continuously fall into a loop of trying to deprive myself of things that are unhealthy and then all of a sudden gorging on those things that are unhealthy like unhealthy music, videos, being on my phone, not exercising, and then I try to fast and do right but I do things often repetively without self control. Pray I am able to overcome incontinence and uphold my promise of chastity and purity of body, mind, and soul. Amen

Tears are a gift I received before I became Orthodox. Cried my way out of a Hindu cult, out of Protestantism which has no place for them amidst the health and wealth false gospel it puts forth, and out of RC which has a very superficial understanding of deep repentance with tears. Thank you God for making me Orthodox at age 56 7 years ago!

@@Brendenmaximin There is one Church that has been there since the beginning, the Orthodox Church, the body of Christ. We are called to "right belief/faith" which is Orthodoxia and the Church is whole (kata holos in Scripture which is katholikos / katholiki). So yes, this is in Scripture.
@@Brendenmaximin Orthodoxy has the oldest understanding of Christianity with very few changes over time and we don't view protestants as in the same faith as us as they teach and speak of it in a very different way. So were not in communion with Protestants or Catholics and don't view their faith in the same regards as our own as its essentially Christianity brought about strictly on reformation and change. The best way to put it, their hearts are in the right places and on the right path but they haven't fully experienced or opened themselves up to Christ and his true church of ancient and Holy Orthodoxy

15:38 This one really hits me different. I am Armenian by blood and was born in USA. Unfortunately, I haven’t learned to read and write in my mother tongue. I can understand and speak it in common tongues, but I don’t understand when it’s being sung. So I never understood growing up and going to church. This really is the first hymn I’ve heard in English. I was listening with headphones too. I have trouble finding solace with the fact that my flesh will die and I will be in the afterlife. That being said, I know that a man needs not fear death anymore than a tired man fears his bed. I pray God blesses everyone 1000x more than they already are. May God have mercy on our souls. Fun fact: Armenia was the First Nation to adopt Christianity as the primary religion.

@ It matters my brother in Christ. Orthodoxy is about remaining on the narrow path or at least knowing where the path is since we all are sinners. Orthodoxy is not another denomination. It's the trunk of the tree. Lord have mercy and pardon our trespassing.

This is very nice I was born and raised a Evangelical Protestant from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷after I found Orthodoxy I felt so much more closer to it so I converted to orthodox Christianity ☦️☦️❤
I feel a deep sense of calling and connection to this path, despite experiencing rejection from my family and church for many years. Raised in a Pentecostal and Evangelical environment, I've often felt misunderstood and isolated in my spiritual journey. However, I'm convinced that this is my true path. Long before I discovered its name, I would hear soothing chants in my mind and receive visions that brought me profound peace. These experiences have guided me toward this direction. Unfortunately, I live too far from any Orthodox places of worship, so I've relied on RUclips videos to explore and learn more. I'm grateful for this online resource, which has helped me feel connected to a community that shares my beliefs.

My priest recommended that I even give thanks to God in my weakness and my failures. 'The Love of God is perfected in your weakness.' The necessity for the life of Christ is made abundantly clear to the man who recognizes his limits. Its so easy to curse myself or the world or God for those things that I perceive as my shortcomings. But I guess the task of becoming-like-Christ would be meaningless without weakness to be endured.

I love their culture, the prayers and especially Orthodox worship music, I consider them brothers in Christ, but it is horrible for me to think that we are not fully united.

This morning during prayer I was overcome with sadness over my sin. I opened up the Psalms and randomly landed on Psalm 87. Life is brutal, but Christ will not abandon us.

Christ Himself says in Matthew 18:16-17 that those who refuse to hear His Church are to be considered as pagans by believers. I recently had confession for the first time, It was emotional, I cried, and when I kneeled and Father prayed, I felt instantly better, like I had been dirty, but I had just stepped out of the shower. It was amazing, and I am so happy now

I do not agree. Emotion during prayer is a nice experience, but it is not necessary. Patience and faithfulness are what actually makes prayer powerful, even more when the prayer is in spite of emotions and lack thereof. It's easy to pray when you're happy, sad, angry about something - but when you feel nothing, that's when prayer becomes a real challenge and a powerful tool

Because God wants us to get up after the fall and march with him on the path of life. Tears are a gift I received before I became Orthodox. Cried my way out of a Hindu cult, out of Protestantism which has no place for them amidst the health and wealth false gospel it puts forth, and out of RC which has a very superficial understanding of deep repentance with tears. I feel a deep sense of calling and connection to this path, despite experiencing rejection from my family and church for many years. Raised in a Pentecostal and Evangelical environment, I've often felt misunderstood and isolated in my spiritual journey. However, I'm convinced that this is my true path. Long before I discovered its name, I would hear soothing chants in my mind and receive visions that brought me profound peace. These experiences have guided me toward this direction. Unfortunately, I live too far from any Orthodox places of worship, so I've relied on RUclips videos to explore and learn more. I'm grateful for this online resource, which has helped me feel connected to a community that shares my beliefs.

My priest recommended that I even give thanks to God in my weakness and my failures. 'The Love of God is perfected in your weakness.' The necessity for the life of Christ is made abundantly clear to the man who recognizes his limits. Its so easy to curse myself or the world or God for those things that I perceive as my shortcomings.
But I guess the task of becoming-like-Christ would be meaningless without weakness to be endured.

I love their culture, the prayers and especially Orthodox worship music, I consider them brothers in Christ, but it is horrible for me to think that we are not fully united.

Anytime anyone posts Orthodox chant, you have people from every man-made belief saying "I am not Orthodox but this is beautiful". "I am not Christian but this speaks to me.". " I am not Orthodox but I respect this"
Just be Orthodox. You are here because whatever else it is that you believe is lacking. I do not seek out other faiths, nor am I interested in anything they offer. My faith is complete. You are here because you cannot say the same. Become Orthodox so you can.
I'd rather have people know Christ direct, than know any church with hallow words of Christ but only of pride.

I recently had confession for the first time, It was emotional, I cried, and when I kneeled and Father prayed, I felt instantly better, like I had been dirty, but I had just stepped out of the shower. It was amazing, and I am so happy now
