That last scene is hauntingly beautiful. An elderly man, maybe a monk, likely on his deathbed. Caressing the Cross, a constant string of prayers uttering from his lips. It is the scene of a man who wholeheartedly believes, without a shadow of a doubt in his mind, that he will soon become one with the lord, eternally at peace. Sobering beyond words. Christ is King.

How do I cope with my situation first off thanks for your service I stopped reading the bible after the contradiction in Genesis that boys should be castrated but that kills infants sometimes and destroys the man's energy later in life. I want to believe in Jesus, but the letter J is only 1100 years old. Is it yashua or yaway who was him? I study law so I can retire early. I'm learning how the bible and Quran have 1/3 of the words missing and are lies same with the law. Nihilism I believe emperor Constantine and plato invented the bible and idea of Jesus for $$$. My whole point of this is I want to do no fap again so I can get vitality back in my life. But I don't believe in sin as long as I'm not hurting someone, swindling someone, or destroying their property. So what should I do?
@@AUSTIN-ss2zdMy advice is this: Call on the name of Jesus, put all your current thoughts about Christianity as a “religion” aside. Pray and repent and experience the beautiful mystery of god. If you want to build some faith, try looking into near death experiences and testimonies of god working through peoples lives. There are too many to count. There’s testimonies of people seeing Jesus in their physical form on this earth, and testimonies of people seeing Jesus in near death experiences The evidence behind the Shroud of Turin supports the eye witness testimonies of those who claim that Jesus rose from the dead. I’ve experienced numerous encounters in my life which testify that god is real. From vibrations in my body when I pray, tears of joy and awe, dreams and actual changes in my thoughts, emotions, life decisions, and addictions. God is very good, I was once an unbeliever and believed in new age spiritual practices though they never gave me a purpose that truly fulfilled me. Becoming born again and accepting the salvation of a Jesus gave me purpose. I’m also on nofap right now. Praying for deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ and reading the bible everyday (which helps you understand gods knowledge) works every time. When you really yearn for the lord and keep the lord close to your heart, you will have a strength like nothing else. I’ve tired many ways to overcome sexual temptation and pornography and fell short every time. Now I have a strength through Jesus that genuinely gives me authority over the temptation.
@@AUSTIN-ss2zd I don't think that Constantine invented the bible, but he did call for a unified text. The strange thing is that Constantine still practiced a pagan sun cult teaching called Sol Invictus. He even had a pillar with a statue of himself made where he had put a sun crown on his head. He also put the same on his coins. His motives for accepting Christianity are also questionable: Did he do it truly out of belief or did he do it for political purposes? But still, I understand your sentiment; It does feel like Constantine corporatized Christianity almost like advertising.
Why does everyone seem to have a problem about the word “religion?” When it literally means a belief in God? You bet I’m religious, and grateful that God’s mercy saved me.

I had a friend of mine tell me he thinks the world would be better without religion and that we no longer need it... he couldn't be further from the truth.
We're seeing what the world WOULD look like without it... everyone I know is looking for something in life and they're having sex and getting trashed to fill the void. People pledge their belief in identity politics rather than God. I was shocked, after growing up in Catholic school, just how many people actually don't believe in God... we're not talking Jesus here, we're talking DO NOT BELIEVE IN ANY THING, or at least tell themselves that. I'm so sick of what society became; I never got to live a true childhood and young adulthood because our society doesn't believe in love, it believes in sex and getting laid, while I'm on the spectrum and took morality way too seriously, actually believing in how things are supposed to be. Had it been 100, or 1000 years ago, maybe I'd have had it natural (and same with others). Maybe I'd have fallen in love with some girl, we'd both have been virgins, and been married in God's name and this only happens ONCE. ONE time, and you make it work, and you are faithful to each other and to God. But no, everything being as subliminal and animal-instinct as it is, I passed through that era of life with nothing. I hope my kids don't have to. I honestly hope society collapses soon and we literally DO have to go back 1000 years or so, and many of my Catholic friends believe the same. People got interested in medieval stuff, and God, during the pandemic. How nice would it be to be a part of the LAST generation to experience widespread promiscuity, the sexual "liberation", and hedonism? What if we could be the grandparents telling our grandchildren about a fallen world which looked for love in all the wrong places before it imploded, and in its weakness rose again with a new sense of purpose? This is something I'd love to witness. Say goodbye to abortion, to "women's rights" (to have sex with as many people as they want), human rights as we know it (to sue for anything, to have as much sex as we want, to hold debts over others), to a culture which does not believe in God.

@Buddy Dude most of the Bible is from man, especially the homophobic nonsense and the Firmament, a very unenlightened attempt at science from primitive times. Leviticus is literally a laundry list of rules and laws from man, while Numbers is a census. Also, to play devil's advocate here, if Catholics are so Satanic or whatever you guys' problem is, then why is Rome still intact while Constantinople fell? Why did the seat of Orthodox leadership basically fall from Greece and go to Russia, whose church is basically fascistic and nationalistic? Catholicism had the Reformation and shattering but Catholicism is still by far the biggest Christian faith on earth and its resources far more available and standardized than Orthodoxy's. And I'm saying this as someone who WANTS to learn about Orthodoxy, but as far as I know there's no Orthodox Catechism or anything like this. That last scene is hauntingly beautiful. An elderly man, maybe a monk, likely on his deathbed. Caressing the Cross, a constant string of prayers uttering from his lips. This video moved me to tears and I cannot remember the last time I've cried. Have been non religious for many years, while God calling to me but I've only now begun to listen.
Been reading the Bible for the first time lately while deployed and will attend an Orthodox church as soon as I can.
There’s testimonies of people seeing Jesus in their physical form on this earth, and testimonies of people seeing Jesus in near death experiences
The evidence behind the Shroud of Turin supports the eye witness testimonies of those who claim that Jesus rose from the dead.
Pray and ask the lord to show you your spiritual state. @@AUSTIN-ss2zd

I had a friend of mine tell me he thinks the world would be better without religion and that we no longer need it... he couldn't be further from the truth.
You can't be fine away from God. You simply won't.
Yes and that is the great deception

That is the longest, and most epic rosary/prayer bead the old gentleman was praying with I have ever seen. Amazing.
That was a orthodox prayer rope.
He was praying with his knotted rope alled ' komboschini' in Greek or 'chotki' in Russian. The rope may be short or long depending on how much prayer you adopt into your life. The traditional prayer usually recited on each knot is simple , but quite powerful: " Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. " This prayer is called The Jesus Prayer, or Prayer of the Heart, and goes back centuries in its practice by Orthodox monks and nuns. Many lay persons have also been known to use the prayer rope in their lives, and it seems to be coming popular even among non- Orthodox Christians.
It’s especially long in order for it to attach to the ceiling, as he’s physically unable to get out of bed at that point (his final moments on this earth, on his deathbed).
Komboskini/Chotki, not Rosary.

@2:51 for those wondering, he's cycling through the Rosary and at each knot he's saying "Lord forgive me". Just to put it in perspective, this man led close to a perfect Christian life and is on his deathbed still uncertain of his place in the afterlife. Just goes to show how repentance is one of, if not the most important aspect of Orthodox Christianity.
I see an old man dreadful about being at death’s door. The uncertainty (your word) is pathetic. The self-loathing is disheartening.
I am perfectly comfortable to die in my sleep tonight. I have certainty about my life, and I am at peace with my life choices.
If I die tonight, I die happy, and I die without fear or anxiety.
Why would anyone want to go through what that poor old man is going through?
@@Lucas-gm3bvto put it simply, sacrifice in this life is necessary, as demonstrated by Jesus. Everyones ultimate goal should be to emulate the Lord and follow his teachings (through Orthodoxy) so that they can make it to Heaven. Orthodoxy is a culture but Catholicism, too, is a culture that left its heartlands while Orthodoxy largely didn't and took over much of the New World. Orthodoxy does seem really amazing and even explains things better than my Catholic schools ever did, that's why I follow these videos.
@Buddy i mean, you could ve replyed, because from what i ve read he makes some points and also asks in an indirect way some questions BUT, of course, because you have this belief in your head that truth it s absolute, and you own that truth yourself, you put yourself in a place, higher than the rest of us, the stupid ones, who could only “rant”?:)
From what i ve read in orthodox theology you should be humble, like this is one of your religion s biggest goal, but from what i ve seen in your response i doubt you re humble.
@@Awakeningspirit20 if you want to know more about orthodoxy you should read some books written by Gregory Palamas and you should also read something about Maximus the Cofessor, these two(not only them) had an important role in the Orthodox Church.

God bless you brother
Beautiful vid nearly had me in tears. Glory to the Father, and the son, and to the holy spirit. Both now and ever, and unto ages of ages! Pray for my journey anyone reading as I am outside the Church. I've spent a good 2 years immersing myself in all one can outside the Church and it's time to get to work but am having trouble getting myself to go to liturgy for stupid reasons. I know it's just attacks of the enemy in my mind and I shouldn't listen but he finds ways to obstruct me from going sometimes physically (car issues, work, etc) but lately it's just been through my thoughts and I can't overcome then on my own...
My friend, our life cries out for fullness! We won't experience Life that is Life to the full, unless we experience the Eternal!
Experiencing the Eternal is not about daydreaming! Experiencing the Eternal is about living for real by experiencing God Who is Life to the full!
Jesus Christ, the incarnated Word of God, by uniting man and God in His own one person, reopened the path for all people to have union with the Absolute Life Who is God.
You may experience God's Power and be wrapped in awe! You may be filled with God's Love and be profoundly affected! You may be enlightened by God's Light and emerge from any darkness! You may partake of God's Life and live for real!
You may experience the Eternity of the Uncreatedness by God's Will, through His Son's Grace, in His Spirit's Communion.
Church is where we are trully connected with each other by uniting ourselves with Christ the Son of God! Church is an organic whole in Union with God, that is the mystical body of Christ
Of course, we could never commune with God's essence but we may commune with God's Uncreated energies by experiencing the Divine and human person of Christ!
By participating in Christ's Mystical Supper, our bodies are literally implanted with His resurrected body! His precious Blood is literally transfused to our veins! Our souls are literally united with His soul! His Divinity is literally infused into us! This way we partake of His Uncreated Divine Energy that is of His Father and of His Spirit!
May God's Love be your Life, so that you may experience Life that is Life to the full! God bless you and Live for real, my friend!
I had the blankest expression ever during the whole video.
@@landong.8218 Undoubtedly, the depths of the mystery of death are incomprehensible. However he to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead -his eyes are closed.
Be brave and wise!
Sunday will dawn soon!
Wow! This video made me cry because of its sheer beauty.
Lots of love and respect to Orthodox bros out there, From a Catholic.
For some it may be "just a religion" - a collection of fairy tales and magical elves. But for those who listen, think, learn the inner meanings and put them into practice... it is not only a way of life but the very meaning and purpose of life!
Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing, brother 🙏🏻😊❤
Video touches my soul ♥ I follow the"Orthodox" living in solitude... I Love my relationship with JESUS.... AGAPA Brother James 🙏🙏🙏
The glory of God is in us. As a Catholic I respect the Orthodox Church as the giga chads you guys are.
They don't believe in filioque though. Our credo is a centre of Catholic faith. They're very respectable but not "giga chads" after all. Better watch some videos about Padre Pio, he was real giant of a Saint.
@@pawepawe6788 Filioque is heresy already known to have been "corrected" and then the truce of not teaching this wrong thing broken, you are schismatics, repent and convert, heretics.
Why is this filioque thing such a big deal???
@@sevenseconds8652 not only this. None on the Earth can be called a vicar of God. Papel`s infallibility is a heresy N1 in my list.
@@pulsare.m.6719 Oh hi! But... The Virgin Mary, in her apparitions, never said anything against the Pope.
Yet people for thousands of years would rather die than give up their faith. The people who say “it’s just a religion” are people who’ve never pulled their head out of their ass and gone outside.
They simply know not.
Isntead of being curious and wondering they cling to themselves and proclaim "I am a person of science" while ignoring scientific methods
Ironic
It is the truth and the light, not just a religion.
The Greek Orthodox Faith and prayers has healed my grandson from a rare form of brain cancer. My heart is with the St John the Baptist Orthodox Greek Church of Carmel, California. Thank you, Father Ion and congregation.
Much respect from an old school Catholic

This is it, this is the video that made me call a priest.
It's not just a religion. It's Life
It’s always this strange feeling whenever I watch these videos of Christ, this feeling of goosebumps across my body everytime I watch a video or listen to a quote..
The video/song is amazing. For who want to feel the pice go to Saint Mount Athos in Greece. They pray every day from 2am to 7 , at least 6-7hours or more . It.s incredible .

For me Jesus is the truth.
Brozzy@ Jesus is simply a Retelling Horus.“Written in 1280 BC, the Book of the Dead describes a God, Horus. Horus is the son of the god Osiris, born to a virgin mother. He was baptized in a river by Anup the Baptizer who was later beheaded. Like Jesus, Horus was tempted while alone in the desert, healed the sick, the blind, cast out demons, and walked on water. He raised Asar from the dead. ‘Asar’ translates to ‘Lazarus.’ Oh, yeah, he also had twelve disciples. Yes, Horus was crucified first, and after three days, two women announced Horus, the savior of humanity, had been resurrected.”
"Are they gonna die?"
"No, they will live"
OMG I didn't except to burst in tears and fall on knees in prayer watching this - Oh Lord Have Mercy.. Struggle now brothers.. that we're young and strong - as St Joseph the Hesychast says.
You aren't praying to the right God.
Pray to God of Jesus not him.
