@@Drakid13Re3kt I'm not saying all of gen z is conservative, but I'd say within young men it is roughly 60-40 or 55-45 conservative to liberal, I'm saying this because I've seen a massive increase in men giving up on dating, trends, etc. there has been a massive increase on men self improving and giving up on the establishment in all walks of life, such as fighting against the fatphobia movement, or fighting against the feminism movement via redpill. There is a massive audience of individuals who adhere to redpill ideology, the prime focus of that demographic being young men. Gen Z has been alive throughout the social justice era and are sick and tired of it. A second US civil war for the left I believe would be close to something like the Spanish civil war. To many factions on the left that way try to fight each other.
That's also a major problem with the American Right. While evangelicals seem like a monolith, they don't have a cohesive unit to form around. Furthermore, most conservatives are highly individualistic and are not likely to respect a hierarchy until one leader starts winning enough battles.

@@code5829rich cities can import food. Poor farmers can't just sell their food to other countries because it will affect their own domestic crops, just like what's happening in Poland right now. If rural areas get rid of their entire market, their entire economy will collapse, as they are mostly dependent on farming for revenue. There's a huge downside to having one industry run a majority of your land, and that is when you don't have anyone to sell to. You think your farmers profits are low now? Just wait until they have to ship them over to poor countries for even less profit. Cutting off the food supply of the cities would lead to the direct collapse of the red areas who practically have all their eggs in one basket. It's the urban areas that have the diversification required to keep the economy functioning. We already import a ton of our food anyway.

This ignores way too many factors that support the red side, including how much of the red side has military training already and is already well armed. The densest blue areas armed men are more likely to be criminals than good citizens. It's worth noting that the DoD with RAND have done simulations of a red/blue civil war many times since the 80's and in every scenario, even with massive help delivered to the blue side by outside powers, the blue side loses in under a year. It's over in well under a year if the foreign powers don't try to help (or if that help doesn't come quickly.)

My mother was an aviation engineer in the navy, and left wing. Vast majority of service men and woman are from younger generations, which are also overwhelmingly left wing. Hell, I live in Texas, and finding someone who is right wing and under 50yo is nearly impossible. Not to mention Texas has nearly flipped blue for two presidential cycles in a row. Im 37. Im a millennial. I grew up in a rural area that eventually turned into a miniature Atlanta. I've traveled this entire country.
Most of the city dwellers would have 0 clue how to make it in the great open midwest or other remote rural locations without latching onto someone much more knowledgeable.
There's no reason to worry about them bulldozing people living in the middle of nowhere.
Numbers don't mean anything without food, transportation and the ability to use a map instead of GPS.
Interstate highways exist. They were practically built for this very purpose; war. And every few miles even in the middle of nowhere they have stops for resources with likely a town or two near by. Use your head.

Three problems with this theory
1) The Black Belt is isolated and prone to greater rates of infighting than other left leaning areas due to socioeconomic factors and culture
2.) While urban centers would be able to recieve international humanitarian aid, it is American agriculture that is the top producer worldwide, and domestic supply lines would be sabotaged in the event of civil war, consolidating crop distribution to more regional areas
3.) Because three of the largest exporters of wheat (Ukraine, Russia, US) would be at war in some fashion, global food shortages would lead to the largest demographics crisis in recorded human history. Any humanitarian aid to American cities would be minimalist as allies would have to ensure the security of their own stockpiles abroad

Down power grid supply line disruptions would completely destroy heavily populated major metropolitan areas. The ensuing chaos and food riots as millions of people attempt to flee the crime during the initials stages of a war would make it nearly impossible to maintain any sense of order whatsoever.
I think the mistake being made here is the assumption that cities will automatically be controlled by the left, but in reality, most cities are 30-40% made of people on the right. They're more likely to be heavily armed and engage in insurgency if they are at a disadvantage. There is more manufacturing in the cities, but it is also highly susceptible to sabotage by secret agents on both sides. Also, foreign aid works both ways. There will be massive military and financial support for both sides, not just the left.
It also ignores the criminality that is already sky high and the gang activity that will undoubtedly increase.

The other big mistake being assumed here is that there will be no one trying to leave, which THERE WILL BE GUARANTEED TO BE in an unresolved crisis.
It would be hard for centralized forces to dominate rural areas. There are only so many people. Supply lines would be too exposed. It would be too easy for rural groups to damage infrastructure that make cities possible. It already takes months for specific motors, couplings, vfds, computer boards, etc to arrive after covid. Imagine during a war. It would require Herculean effort to maintain security and functionality of sewage, electric, fresh water, communications, and hvac infrastructure. With a pair of side cutters you can shut down most machinery for a long time.
A sawzall and backhoe can take out nearly any utility line in America.

Comparing the two recent insurgencies: the capital siege (representing what a right coalition would look like in this war), while messy, was well coordinated and did not break out into anarchy.

The right just has a better chance of being unified and working for the good of the war over the good of the individual.

The mistake with this scenario is the classic mistake of military strategy, assuming the new war will look like the last war... The American Civil War is quite anomalous and not even a true civil war by technical definition, combined with this the modern notion of red states and blue states is almost entirely mythical. Assuming something like this would delineate neatly upon state lines is extremely naive. People also seem to only factor in the military and never the enormous militarized police forces we have, which largely support the previous felon in Chief.. There’s one major thing missing about a civil war. If you look at the sex distribution. It’s overwhelmingly male for conservative and liberal for women, even among young people. Men are 65% conservative and 35% liberal. Women are the reverse.
Given this would mostly be a man’s fight and women normally refuse to fight even in feminist countries, that nulls the left. Especially when their ideology is against war, against violence, and anything aggressive. However I think a rural proletariat style uprising is more likely.
There are many women who like blood, and love manipulating other people to do the killing for them. That being said, the infantry ranks are mostly right leaning and higher up command tends to be more left.

No, China is weak and dependent on the US, the UN is located in the US and is a fake and gay organization. The world would collapse and then the US would re-emerge in time after reconstruction (altho the west coast could reasonably become a new country if it wanted).
If the US collapses so does China. China is already in a dangerous position economically and them losing their biggest buyer by a considerable margin would cripple the communist nation. Smaller cities and much of suburbia is very mixed though. While technically mostly urban, many are conservative leaning and are on the whole quite politically divided, being culturally in between urban core and rural. The greatest strength of the left is its allies. Western Countries and people are always more supportive of the American Left because they are more reliable and align more witu their beliefs. Yeah, I'm noticing a pattern here, yall are assuming the right would be able to very easily work together (which we have seen the opposite of ever since trump lost in 2020), and would be able to easily just cut supply lines. It wouldn't be that easy, nobody would be able to just walk into an area and prevent supply lines from being connected to one another. And the left has much, much more access to the oceans, and critically, the navy. The right may have greater influence in the army, but good luck utilizing that when your connection to the outside world is completely cut off, you have a smaller population, you're not completely unified, and the rest of the western world is sympathetic to the left and their ideological beliefs.
It would probably be the first Civil War again in exactly the same way. The right scores some early victories, but as time goes on, the support the outside world for them weakens, the population difference becomes evident, a blockade cripples their economy as the left increases imports, continues to keep their economy alive, and slowly builds up strength until they finally decide to hit, and hit hard.

One other strength the left wing as a whole seems to have is better ability to organize and coordinate actions in a non hierarchical way. Which means any territorial gains made by the right would be met with a persistent and effective insurgency.
It is a double edge sword since it also will make it harder for the left to form a unified opposition, but still it does have some benefits.
There is nothing grassroots about a leftist gathering meant for any significant action. It is and always has been the result of some subversive hierarchy. These are the same types who cower as a group when one guy confronts them at the gas station because they were flashing their high beams and driving like Freemasons a quarter mile up. If nobody gathers leftists, hands them weapons, and promises impunity from the law, they will do nothing.

As a moderate who lives in Southern California... The amount of Liberals I've met who've never even held a gun is staggeringly high. And much of the general population who're mentally & physically fit enough to be soldiers are either Right leaning or don't care about politics at all... Yeah sure, the Left "should" be the winner given all its resources!!! But ultimately they are too prone to be self defeating and don't have enough soldiers who're willing to fight & die for their political beliefs.

One point to make is the left would actually need the grunts on their side. They are not so having most of the bases and grunts in blue territory would probably be better for the red territory for offensive strikes at the start of the conflict.
You're assuming that the rank and file in the military will follow along with this. You can have all the firepower in the world, but with nobody to use it, it does no good.
When talking about water, food, energy, etc. these things are also more heavily concentrated in more rural, conservative leaning areas, the population of which is familiar with the terrain and, coincidentally, have a higher percentage of veterans, the majority of whom are highly vocal about their disdain of leftist/liberal policies.
Yep. The cities don't have agriculture. They have grocery stores. Once those stores run out of food (i give them no more than 10 days) they're done. The rural folk run the agricultural areas and are conservative leaning 90% of the time. They'll find a way to keep the farms operating and their side fed.

@@sebiezulueta Actually, most power plants are in rural areas outside cities and there's a fairly large trend of large-scale industrial facilities such as factories being moved to cheaper rural areas as well. After all, that's the only way to save enough money for a factory in the US to still be viable compared to the Chinese competition.

The left wingers there are more extreme than in some places, but right wingers exist alongside conservative moderates. A second civil war wouldn’t be nearly so cut and dry as urban vs rural. I think one overlooked issue is ensurance of military loyalty. A majority of the modern US military identify as Republican in a 2020 survey so I can sew a lot of soldiers either siding with the Republicans or going rogue with some equipment.
No uprising against the US government would have any chance of success unless at least some of the armed forces defect.
