Cuz of 5 centuries of occupation , slavery , kids being taken away and systematic destruction of cultures . That's why revolts were happening .
In 19th century French wanted to convert orthodox into catholic churches while Russia wanted to regain Constantinople and preserve orthodoxy in the Balkans which led to Crimean war that Russia lost , but thanks to them it's (Balkans) still orthodox .
I know that Rome (which robbed Jerusalem and Constantinople) and turks are eager to co-op against orthodox , but as we know that orthodox peoples caused genocidal empires (Prussia , Austro-Hungaria , Ottoman etc.) to colapse , that's one huge mistake ...

@Zomz Cheezy It's just a clip wich shows maps, colors and some years, if one judges only by this, it means that he doesnt have education. Romania had a king, Charles the 1st, he allied with russian Tsar, he started investing in infrastructure, building railroads and fortresses, preparing the country for independence long before war, russians also were allowed to build railroads along the Danube. During Russo-Turkish war Romania did participated an spilled blood on bulgarian soil helping russians and bulgarians. There's even one particular incident wich shows that romanian army didnt played a small role in that war, when russian army was sorrounded by turks facingannihilation the russian command sent a fast telegram to romanian military high command to intervene and help them. Later the soviets when they come in Romania they tried to find the telegram and destroy it but they couldnt. :)))
And offcourse they "poured" in Romania, it was the first ottoman province on their border, DOOOH.

Moving ships through there while its under Ottoman control would be asking to have your Navy wiped out. It makes strategic sense that Russia would try to take control of the surrounding land of the straits, allowing ships to pass through unhindered. Russia had naval dominance over the Ottomans eventually, but passing through the straights was still very dangerous without controlling them, so Russia attempted to take them but they withdrew.

dreacul Actually,I meant only one mistake that was made by European nations inhabiting the Balkan territory(except for Turks).By the end of the First Balkan war all of them became independent from influence of Ottoman Empire and could develop economic and political ties for maintaining positive relationships and improving military collaboration. However, the desire to live in peace was defeated by infinite ambitions of some governors. So,the new war began as a result of misplaced sense of self-righteousness.

Aleksandar Kan Serbia participated in the First Balkan war and was able to require any compensation for that such as acquiring new lands that were located in the South of Balkans!Regarding to Macedonia,it is a difficult statement for discussing it because there are different opinions about that one.For example,Greeks have recently started calling it Fyrom or something like that making the declaration that this territory should belong to them!As far as I understood, their activity referring to the question is just a provocation.Bulgarians behave in this situation as well as us,Russians. Most Russian people don't recognize existence of Ukrainian nation via common traditions, speaking the same language etc.In my opinion,if Balkan peoples cannot figure out who Macedonians are they are supposed to make the DNA test for further notifying civilians of Macedonia. It will help you understand which territorial claims are justified!

Drina river was for some reason the natural border for Byzantine and a split point between west Roman and east Roman(later Byzantine). Bosnia acted mostly as a buffer zone. Often it was part of Byzantine, often west Roman and often independent as well... unlike Croatia that was always Roman or Serbia that was always Byzantine.
Bosnia even before Ottomans(Islam) was unique. Claiming Bosnia is ortodox or chatolics is just partly correct and that's a fact as those two churches never flourished in Bosnia like they did in Croatia or Serbia. Bosnia developed ''heretic'' (claimed by both churches) version of Christianity and had something called Bosnian Church. Pope even called crusade on Bosnia. Now throw Ottomans(Islam) later on into Bosnia, plus 19th century nationalism and you get today's Bosnia. Sad part is, instead of that cocktail being something special, its riches it seems like that's a curse. Bosnia is definitely Bosnian !!

The uprising in wallachia in 1821 was part of the greek war of independence ; it was organized by the "friendly company" (filike etaireia) and its goal was to kickstart the revolution (being in contact with the revolutionaries in the peloponnese) . Its leader was Alexandros Ypsilantes , a greek national , who in cooperation with the local (greek and non-greek) population and Greek volunteer troops from western Europe , declared independence from the ottomans . They numbered in the tens of thousands , half of them were greeks and everyone fought for a common cause . However , many locals decided to abandon the campaign since the russians refused to take part in the war and the ottomans threatened to retaliate against the civilians if the regiment wasn't disbanded . Adding to that , Vladimireskou was found a traitor and was executed by the "friendly company" (filike etaireia).

the Cretan revolution 1841 ( it was the third one for Crete, first one was part of the Orlov revolt and the second one was a part of the war of independence )

    the Cretan revolt of 1858
the Cretan revolt of 1866-1869 (major event)
the Greem Macedonia revolt of 1867
    the Cretan revolt of 1878
the Greek macedonian revolt of 1878 ( you did mention the Epirus revolt of the same year and we can see the Greek Macedonian areas on the map, but no mention of Cretan revolt )
No mention of the Thessalian revolt and the battle of Mouzaki that included Greek army troops
No mention of the Cretan revolts of 1885 and 1888
No mention of the Cretan and Greek Macedonian of 1895 and 1896 that led to the 1897 Greco - turkish war
    No mention of the Macedonian Struggle ( 1904 - 1908+ )
As you can see Crete played a huge role in the balkans

Redbeard the famous pirate was Albanian. Byeazid the Second, the Ottoman Sultan, was also of Albanian decent, his mother was Albanian (prolly forced to marry Sultan Mehmet). Well, as a Russian, I can tell you that this is something like personal. Russia's role in these events was determined by its access to the Mediterranean and its mentality.
Maybe you didn't know, but Russia has been in a similar position for a very long time from the Golden Horde (Tatars) and was able to achieve independence with a lot of blood. Immediately after gaining independence, wars began with Turkey, which decided to screw up Russia with a tribute.
The Balkan peoples are mostly Slavs + they were conquered by the Turkic Empire. It is very similar to Russia in the 13th-15th century. Because of this, the idea that it was necessary to liberate the fraternal people was very popular among Russians. In the Eastern Slavic states, they still speak very warmly about the Balkan brothers.
