I had to do research on American society during the "wild" west, and you sir, are correct. Whether its intentional or not, the RDR series definitely seems like r* put a lot of time in doing their research instead of remimagining what/ how women behave and acted within a growing society
As a girl, one of my biggest complaints with video games is that they lack relatable and realistic women. Oftentimes they are overly sexualized or made to be very masculine to cover their feminine traits and justify strength. However, both Rdr1 and 2 have done a fantastic job with all their female characters. It’s such a relief to see so many women I can relate to.
Yeah, no kidding. I remember when I got to the Epilogue as John in RDR2, I felt so happy and sad at the same time to see the family living a normal life in that farm because all RDR1 fans know what’s slated to happen there later…

But even though Abigail was introduced a tad bit late, I feel she made enough of an impact with the little screen time she got in RDR to where she felt totally natural as John's significant other. Abigail was most likely asking out of curiosity and not because of Bill's situation or past history. Bill is a closeted gay (there is several hints and comments to it in RDR2) so its most likely that when Abigail was the gang's prostitute, Bill didnt do anything with her.
If she truly had sex with the gang and it wasn't dutch messing with John, Abigail only was with Javier, Dutch, John himself and maybe Arthur (although based on Arthur's character and feelings for her, i doubt he would've accepted a one-night stand)

This is the most accurate portrayal of a woman in fiction
Haha I agree!
@@ThatsShowbizBabyy agreed :)
@neevmohamednadheem956 there is this fear of imperfection and insecurities in media. We all have ours.

Yeah, no kidding. I remember when I got to the Epilogue as John in RDR2, I felt so happy and sad at the same time to see the family living a normal life in that farm because all RDR1 fans know what’s slated to happen there later…
yeah me to when I get some nostalgia when riding in black water and exploring armadillo Damm the town was really bad shape
In RDR3 we will be playing as a Callander boah.

I don't know why but the way Bonnie looks and acts when John leaves is the most heartbreaking thing 😭 So well done

I wish they’d remaster this game
Well I’d want a remake version, if possible. We fans can only wish.
@@RedDeadReplay it be nice a whole version where the whole 2 games play in the same map. You finish RDR2 and then it goes into *4 years later* screen. And rdr1 starts. This game and Rdr2 has 8 years difference. That is why graphic in video games has massive improvement even in just 5-10 years
When I first played through this game I caught the way Bonnie was acting when John was leaving and I said it even when I was young she had feelings for him and seeing this again only further confirms it for me Bonnie has feelings for John . Also I would love to see Bonnie again Inna bigger role then just a stranger mission in RDO

John: “I’ve never felt so out numbered” Me: thinks of the ending of the game…
I know Abigail and Bonnie have 2 different women playing them, but in this scene, it sounds like the woman that plays Bonnie is the one doing Abigail.
And there 3 people playing uncle the first 2 died this uncle in rdr1 and rdr2 2
1:23 “well Y’know, little bit like Sadie”

Same actress to surprisingly
"I know better than to change a man" Bonnie is the opposite of Abigail
Oh I love Bonnie :)
"normal as in two eyes, a mouth, nose, that kind of normal"
Love that line
LoL that part cracked me up. John was smart enough to not say Bonnie was pretty. Admitting to your wife that you find other women attractive is a death sentence for most men
5:35 Meanwhile in RDR2 *_john chillin at a campfire roasting thyme big game meat on a knife_*
“I’ve never felt so outnumbered” oh you will john… you will
4:01
Abigail: "A family that left you for dead, you knew the truth John, and they hated you for it"
John: "Arthur didn't."
Arthur didn’t properly address that in the beginning
Man I loved the dialogue in the game and in this cutscene in particular!! The conversation flowed so smoothly and naturally and just brings out the charm out of these characters!!
I love how when Abigail points out Bonnie blushed when she saw John he’s so smooth with it “I have that effect on women”
John : "she saved me from dying"
Abigail : "she touched you???"
I really adore the way they addressed each other in the 1800-1900s
Maam, Miss, Mister, Ms
sounds really polite and earnest for some reason, respectful too
Some of my grandparents still say that and you'll see some old folk in the southeast and midwest do it
First time I played RDR, I was rooting for Bonnie ngl. But even though Abigail was introduced a tad bit late, I feel she made enough of an impact with the little screen time she got in RDR to where she felt totally natural as John's significant other. After playing RDR2, it's easy to see how John is so loyal to her.
She’s the same height as marston in RDR2 but 5 inch shorter in RDR1.
I think it is because of the mo-cap actress.
Heels were just invented
Also in rdr2 he looks like Arthur morgan...
@@wetube6513 True and the only thing that looked obvious was head , they reuse Arthur Morgan headshape and body
Most of the characters in RDR2 are the same height but Arthur is tall as shit and so is Dutch compare to John
"I've never felt so outnumbered!"
*John has a flashback to going up the mountain for Micah, then has a vision of what happens in a few missions from that point*
When John throws his hand back at Abigail when she did it to him has me dead 💀

holy hell the way they talk about the gang and bill at 3:00 is so intune with rdr2. rockstar really paid attention to the first game and made everything line up in the second one
Not everything. Javier in rdr2 is nothing like how he was described
@@user-hx6gs9rq7uI think his depiction is pretty close to how he’s described, especially if you interact with him at camp. He keeps getting on Arthur about loyalty and letting the gang down.
Ironic that Abigail was jealous of bonnie but yet had no problem asking how bill was when she had history with nearly all of the gang
Well, Bill was probably one of the few men in the gang who didn’t touch Abigail, because… well, you know why 😂
@ryokiritani4187 well I assume given she was there favorite whore make sense they all smashed her authur probably didn't given he had a child and then another relationship
This mission is wonderfully written. Fantastic banter and consistent writing. One of my favourites.
god, i love how much context rdr2 adds to this game.
I find it hilarious that John says stop everytime there is a period. He does it in RDR2 also. 🤣🤣🤣
That's common practice when reading telegrams. They actually said "STOP" in place of periods as well, due to the fact that punctuation was extra while four extra letters was free.
Thanks
