    It's somewhat fitting that Alex was on this inaugural flight from Calgary to Vancouver, and then also aboard the last passenger flight to take off flying the reverse of this route. RIP Lynx...

    Alex hands down you do the best airline flight videos. Just plain simple reporting, no drama or play acting. I guess that makes you the polite, unassuming, underwhelming Canadian the rest of the world insists we are.
    The fact that the airlines are pleased to have you aboard and value your rating speaks volumes. I watch all your videos and I will base my travel on the information you provide. I will be flying one way from Winnipeg to Vancouver at the end of May. Lynx has a flight on the 31st and that works great for me. I am 6ft and 225 lbs, and 82 so after watching this I booked an aisle seat for an extra $47 over the base $59 fare plus paid for a carry on bag. Total cost all in is
    $148 and I do require some assistance at the airports.. which is free as in no charge. I don't expect extra in flight service or options at this great price but the fact that Lynx has brand new aircraft is wonderful. And.. keep waving the Maple Leaf !

      Lynx is the worst airline guys.
      Never look for their cheap rates, they rob customers from different ways. My flight was booked for 9:30PM. They just rejected colored photocopies of my passport, copies were attested by Canada's border agency. I missed my domestic flight and they did not return my money paid for tickets. Lynx is just a FRAUD. Never trust on Lynx airline guys.
      Lynx staff is very rude even their supervisors and managers do not care of you and your money what you have paid to them for their services.
      WORST EXPERIENCE with WORST AIRLINE named LYNX.

    Thanks for sharing! You may have already heard of another airline, Canada Jetlines joining the mix. Curious for that review as they will be flying Airbus A320 with 18" wide seats.
    Unfortunate for all the fees that's added to a domestic flight, especially airport improvement fees, etc that make it that much more costly to fly domestic.

  • @CaptureKing247
    @CaptureKing247 2 года назад +7

    I appreciate the competition trying, but the argument that fares are too high in Canada is a little misleading. We're acting like Air Canada and WestJet are making billions of dollars in profit. Margins are razor thin and a big portion of your ticket is taxes. Same people who complain about Air Canada and WestJet have no issue buying an iphone or drinking Starbucks. Take a look at how much profit those companies are making. And as soon as an airline starts to make a little money, one of their unions go on strike. I believe there is room for one independent low cost airline. Flair and Lynx should eventually merge. With Westjet's Swoop around, fares will remain reasonable.

      Seriously Wreck Jet charges twice the price that Lynx/Flair charge.Our flight in January Calgary to Mexico on Wreck Jet totally 100% turned us off from flying with them again an absolute nightmare(They never answer the phone) They cancelled our direct flight with just a few yours notice(3am flight was at 9am) and only gave us one option Fly from Calgary(Leave at 11:30pm Actual time was 12:45am) to Edmonton(Waited on tarmac in Edmonton 45 minuets) stay overnight(WestJet didn't say who pays=We did) Flight leaving Edmonton didn't have any pilots(More delays 2hrs+) We payed extra for seats we didn't axially get to sit in.Buy the way we paid almost $4k for these flights.

    Great video showcasing Lynx and their offerings! I am still extremely skeptical that they will succeed in the long run given the increased competion from Flair, Swoop, AC Rouge (if AC reassess it's mission) and the dark-horse Porter. Still view this airline as a prime merger option for Flair or WJ but we will have to see what happens.

    • @rscott2247
      @rscott2247 2 года назад +1

      Ya, one can wonder if they can under cut A.C, & WJ and still make a profit ? Ryanair does it, so time will tell ?

    • @nicstanton278
      @nicstanton278 2 года назад +1

      Totally agree. There will be consolation in the coming years. Transat is hanging by a thread and Jetlines is doomed. Canada is very challenging for ULCC's and I truly think Flair and Swoop are the one's who will survive. Porter is unique as their offerings are more in line with AC and WJ and serve their own unique market in the East.

  • @redheads604
    @redheads604 2 года назад +1

    competition is good but I think in order to survive they need to fly to other destinations not offered by the other guys. One of the reason Ryanair is successful is because they target the tourist market and offer direct flights to non hub airports. If Lynx only focus on the usual airports like YYZ, YVR, YYC, or YUL, I don't know if they'll survive in the long run.

    Everyone in Canada complaining about high ticket prices, the tickets are cheap it’s everything else. Canada’s airport system, which is based on a "user-pay model." With this structure, all costs - from security to air traffic control to airport infrastructure - is passed down to travelers. The Canadian government doesn’t fund /support this business as in many other countries.
