The sports goggles always fogged cuz they were too close to my face and was sweating. Switched to contacts as soon as I got old enough to take care of them.
I've always worn bone-standard street frames. Usually a previous pair. You're are not reading text so the vision does not actually have to be perfect. Very rarely have I ever had fogging issues.
For me, in every sport I decided not to wear my glasses under any kind of helmet in any sport. I always just kind of tried to adjust and "use the force" to kind of feel it out and predict ball/puck path and that has served me well for the most part.
I used to wear contacts and some times i use sport googles but they get fogged i locked them to the cage, and now i use by regular glasses, I think I'll be back in contacts in the future
I’m looking forward to the Hyperlite pads coming out June 25. Dinged up the mask tonight, now I gotta buy a new cat eye. I know you like the cheater cage, but have you heard anything about aftermarket cages for Bauer NME 10?
I haven't played hockey in glasses, but I do play high level racquetball in regular glasses. There is no way I would try to use goggles/glasses. The sweat/fogging would be brutal on the ice.
Nike makes great glasses that have a lot of flex to then. They use to be my primary readers, now I use them for sports only, and thankfully, I can wear them and my helmet will hold them onto my face
My daughter wears sports goggles. We apply a good anti-fog agent and they work great. they fit great, the only issue is she has to un button the backplate to get them on and off
Thanks everyone for your input and all of your suggestions!! I really appreciate all of your help. This is such a great group of people and a great community!!! You all are Totally Awesome!!
I use to wear sport goggles, but now I wear contacts because I have a better field of view off to the sides. I play both as a skater in league play, and I play as a goalie in open hockey. I do keep my pair of sport goggles in my gear bag(s) just in case something happens with my contacts. When I play goalie I have never used my sport goggles. I have used Sven Can See Anti-Fog Gel with some success in the past, but I have been using Cat Crap. I have found that if I apply Cat Crap to both sides of my lenses of my sport goggles and let it completely dry and then lightly buff it with a soft cloth it will last for at least two games. I hope this helps someone.
