My old Vaughn’s had leather straps when I was a kid. All my skate straps stayed tight, super tight. The three calf straps got progressively looser. The top 2 thigh straps were essentially useless. It was a different playing style back then. I love my G4’s and the newer playing style, and the speed of getting dressed is so much easier.
CRS on my Bauers and i place the knee strap down on my thigh instead of across the knee. I use a skate lace toe tie, i don't like the bungie style toe tie
Lol, I think I should've clarified that for a certain older style pad that has an open toe setup and meant to be worn that way, toe straps work. But, I don't think you'll ever seen them come back on mondern pads (unless MB30 starts playing again and makes them the rage lol)
I will watch the video in its entirety in a little bit.... but having never used elastic and only 3 sets of pads that were leather.... ELASTIC ALL DAY EVERYDAY CAN'T WAIT FOR MY PASSAUS TO COME IN!!!
The Exceed only had 1 leather strap on the boot all other straps were nylon webbing with an elastic calf cradle. I got these when they first came out, great for their day, my all time favorite blocker with the player style finger protection! The glove was huge and snappy from new.
Just got my first pair of pads with elastic straps today Counting holes on straps is something I am definitely not going to miss haha Great video as always
My Brian’s pads are Velcro straps. One leather strap behind the knee but I have that so loose I don’t even notice it. Having said that when I drop to my knees sometimes the right pad doesn’t hit the ice the way it should. Why is that?

Hello everyone
Great show Wayne!! You are totally !
"Just ✂️ them off..." Love this!
Wayne some older goalies still like the toe straps
I Personally like leather straps because you can really adjust them compared to elastic, but elastic is easier to use.
