Great vid as usual, love new set too. Quick question about the helmet. I've had Bauer helmets for over 20+ years and recently switched to the two piece, Kaz spec from coveted. From half the price, drastically improved viability, to a custom fit... Hands down the best piece of equipment I've ever purchased. Plus, the customer service from Ron was far superior. Just curious your thoughts on coveted and if you've ever considered a lid from them? Thx as always!!!
So are the True 12.2s a hard rebound pad? That's what you've used for a while and I can't find solid info on what the design is. Or is that what you get with the 'stiff' core option? Or are you switching it up?
Trav, why does it matter how sticky the stick is if you're putting on the buttendz grip? Kinda the same question for skater sticks, but they do have a second hand on the stick at almost all times.
The grip will cover up the paddle, having the grip on the paddle helps give it a consistent feel especially with wanting to control the paddle area of the stick. Next week's video will discuss more about that!

Blocker pop sure… in my experience 75% of shots off the blocker end up out of play regardless of the company, so is that extra pop really worth hindering puck handling which seems to be one of the strong suites of your game? In any case choosing what makes you most confidence is important. Just food for thought

Everything is slow because of COVID + nagging injury + i started a real job in engineering again so a bit less time on my hands. My optik 2 has significantly more pop than optik 1, and optik 1 was so much better than my previous Vaughn (when I though a blocker was a blocker), so I get your point, but puck handling is so important to me too that I wouldn’t want to hinder that

The one thing I hate about grip tape is that I grip my stick like my life depends on it and my hand would often get stuck. Bauer hyperlite changes that. I can now grip my stick normally.

No matter how good the stick grip is, I always have to use grip tape. Idk I just love the feeling🤷🏻♂️. Love the vids Trav keep up the great work❤️. Edit: I was also hoping for a spoiler for the country and team you are playing for next year😂

The one thing I hate about grip tape is that I grip my stick like my life depends on it and my hand would often get stuck. Bauer hyperlite changes that. I can now grip my stick normally.

As a rookie adult with family responsibilities, i spend enough on training, already going outside my hockey budget 🤭. But thats fine by me ..
