Sir, don't you realize that every time you press the clutch pedal, your jeans cover the carburetor?! please put the air filter on it and go for a happy ride with that beautiful flathead.

From your angle it looks that way but I watched my jeans and it wasn’t happening. I’ll be back at this and more of my motorcycles when spring comes. Iorio choppers, that makes me think of S.I.E. choppers (Steve Iorio Enterprises) in Chicago 50 years ago. Thanks for watching.

@@oldamericaniron5767 hello, I understand what you are saying but believe me that when you stopped looking down, when you engaged the clutch, your jeans covered the air intake of the linkert and the engine drowned, throwing black smoke from the exhaust until it turned off completely. I hope you believe me because I'm telling you the truth. I love your motorcycle u/ul, I have a 45 wl 1937. A big greeting from the south, from the end of the world.

We see a fair amount of WLs up here in Vancouver BC, but very few ULs. I just missed a stock very nice example last summer. A little more driveable when you can cruise at 70 mph +. You still have an impressive kick for an older guy!

Hope to get back at it this spring. I want to drag out more of my bikes and do videos this year which would include a 4 5/8 stroke ‘64 XLCH, a ‘71 Triumph 650 and a 4 1/2 inch stroke 1926 JD.

Yes it is, I think I know the problem now and it’s not what any viewers suggested. If the weather stays the way it is I may try it again soon.

Flathead leaky manifolds, magnetos that haven't been run for a while and old worn Linkerts make for an interesting and healthy (sweaty) hobby!

Geoffrey todays warmer weather found me looking this video up again. If I had a dollar for every time I watched it I’d be sitting in at least fifty or sixty bucks!!!

I don’t know if you saw the comments from a few people who insisted my pant leg was getting sucked in. They are looking at it in 2dimensions and I was sitting on it looking at that very same thing and it wasn’t happening, yet they insisted. I’ve only been at this 50 years and occasionally still get stumped. I think I know the problem now. If we get a warm day and I’m home I’ll give it a try.

Good to see it go down the road. Brief as it may have been you got out on it. I’m sure it’ll be good to go as soon as cooler weather allows you the time to dial it in.

That thing sounds unhealty..it has some engine misfires respectively ignition issues. Check the ignition time on the magneto dude
