  • Remember the three P’s for your gut microbiome and how incredible it is get them all in the same meal!
    🦠 Probiotics, these are foods that contain live bacteria, such as kefir, live yoghurt, Kombucha, sauerkraut, or kimchi. we can also take probiotics in capsule or powder form.
    🧅 Pre-biotics. These are prebiotic fibres. Foods such as asparagus, Artichoke, apples, almonds, chicory, chocolate, cashews, onions, garlic, flaxseeds, Chia, beans, lentils. all contain soluble fibres that act as fertiliser, feeding the helpful bacteria, already living in our gut.
    🫐 Polyphenols. These are plant chemicals which help promote the growth of beneficial bacteria. We can add polyphenols into a diet, by eating more olive oil, berries, chocolate, and cacao, nibs, spices, such as cloves. Or soya beans. In general, the more colourful your food, the more polyphenols they’ll likely to contain.

    I appreciate very much the way you made it all so simple. Lately, I have read a lot about the microbiome, but nobody else seems to have put it all together.
