as an ipad pro user myself i can agree about all his points. as much as it hurts to say the only advantage ipad pro has now is the apps and that might change soon.
I had been waiting so long for this, I have two Apple tablets that I do love, but they are very expensive, Samsung can make things more affordable and more usable in many ways ....
Got to say this is the first time I have heard any mainstream reviewer talk honestly about the tablet app situation on android. You even highlighted the fact actually android tablet apps are pretty good apart from missing some of the higher end advanced photo and video editing stuff and even pointed out some proper advantages of the S7+ has over the ipad. Was expecting the usual biased take down from an apple fan about an android tablet but instead got the most balanced and well thought out comparison I seen and its coming from an ipad user too. Respect, definitely earned a sub

3:51 i think you have a defective accessory. I own an S7+ and the clips are always attached correctly, and the magnets are definitely not that weak. my back cover also doesn't peel like that. i strongly suggest you to claim warranty and switch it for a new one. that aside, great and unbiased review!
@@winningblack5112 I wouldn't say that. he can be a fanboy of anything, but watching this review I can say that he is at least try to be objective. he said bad things about the accessory because that's what he got from Samsung, so the mistake is on Samsung, not him. it's not like he ruined the accessory on purpose.

Trust me, as an android user myself, i cannot see in a forseeable future android applications cathing up with iPad Os ones. The gap is so huge that i recently changed to iPad from Android tablet. Good thing is you will never know the full extent unless you are a professional (Audio/Video/Sound&Light Engineering etc). Android tablets are a excellent for media consumption and browsing
@@krishhsood6621 I had the laggy S9, and i tried my aunt’s Note 10 plus. It was very inconsistent. The camera is blurry when you’re tryna take a picture while moving. And sometimes when you quit a heavy app fast, it lags. Also the animations are not smooth 1/4 at the time. I was a die hard samsung fan before, now i realize Samsung is not very reliable when you need it to be. It’s frustrating. My brother has the s20 fe and he says he wants to buy an iphone because it cant run his apps properly.
@@amo_res9266 It’s true about the camera they have fixed that with software and hardware already. The rest is odd because I have had all Samsung and the note 10 and they were beautiful. I currently have the Z fold 2 and multitasking is crazy smooth and never breaks. It’s not for everybody I hope you find what’s best for you man

@@aloneghost3060 I'm talking in terms of features, I upgraded from the X to the Xs Max within a year and the only notable change was the size and color, (& slight camera improvement) the 11 pro max was the first phone I never considered upgrading to bc it lacked innovation for me. I'm amazed how far android (samsung) has come in terms of fluidity. I love my Xs Max as I still have it as a backup, but if I'm comparing, it makes the iPhone interface seem boring as a whole, personally.
Honestly it's pretty rare to see an Apple user genuinely "hating" on Android stuff these days. (That was more of a 2000's thing.) You're far more likely to see folks bandwagoning against anything Apple because it's basically the trendy thing to do.
As an iPad Pro user, i must say that desktop experience looks amazing. It would seriously improve the iPad usability. Never mind being able to adjust resolution for an external monitor.
I still agree with apples decision to not just put macOS on the ipad. I think keeping it streamlined and optimised for focused tasks is the right decision, but i would love something similar to dex on ipad. Like a super pulled back and simplified verison of a desktop. Like how DEX is, its not a full version of a desktop experience, its like the perfect middles ground
Honestly the only reason I haven't switched to a Samsung Tab at this point is Procreate. (Only serious alternative on Android CSP--which is subscription-based, and a port. I love it on desktop, but too clunky for a tablet) If they can finally get Procreate onboard, shit I'm switching to the Tab with no reservations
Samsung’s learning a lot from Microsoft. The Tab’s form factor is close to that of the Surface Pro’s, with the kickstand and snap-on keyboard. The Desktop UI is like a super-refined Win10. Pretty good job.
Agreed! DeX is a major reason why I'm thinking about eventually replacing my Surface Pro with the Galaxy Tab S line. Really been loving the functionality on my 2017 Note 8. But I want Samsung to first do the following: - *Bring* *Back* *Linux* *on* *DeX!* Or better yet, enable the native installation and running of Linux Desktop apps in DeX mode. It makes much more sense for this kind of form factor and would be a great gateway for full-fledged Desktop apps on the Galaxy Tab line. Plus, as Apple demonstrated the full-fledged macOS Big Sur running on their 2 years old A12Z Bionic chipset from their iPad Pro line during their WWDC 2020 keynote, Linux on DeX will certainly be required to compete with that level of versatility. - Add a second USB C port or full-sized USB A port for USB accessories while charging. - Add a 3.5mm headphone jack for use while in flights or while our wireless headphones are charging. - Make the keyboard cover accessory backlit and add angular typing like the Surface Pro line. - Equip it with 16GB of RAM If they implement all of the above, it'll be the first Android tablet I'll ever purchase. Will proudly replace my Surface Pro with it. My once in a blue-moon need for Windows applications will be perfectly served by my QNAP NAS. @@MrElectrifyer I had the SP3 and SP6, and am have been with MS since Win 3.1. Am moving to the iPad Pro though; Win10 is getting stagnant and I'm getting frequent driver issues (sensors, Wifi, camera). I'll miss my SP6, that keyboard (yes, with angular typing) is truly one of the best!
@@smj7246 Yeah, I reverted my Surface Pro 2 back to Windows 8.1.1 due to all the issues I was experiencing with Winbug10. I'm hesitant to buy another Surface Pro partly due to that. I'd also proudly switch to an iPad Pro if Apple ports over the full-fledged macOS Big Sur to it, just as they demonstrated at their 2020 WWDC Keynote on their 2 years old A12Z Bionic chipset.
I LOVE this Samsung-Apple competition. They both make such amazing and different products that sometimes it really hard to choose. I have to say, tablet-wise, the gaming aspect of the s7+ is just too appealing to me. I have to go with Samsung this time.
Back cover peeling might be an isolated issue. I'm in a huge S7/S7+ group and none of us have that complaint. It should be covered by warranty so you know what to do. 👍
is there any heating problems on your tablet? or your community tablets?, i just got my tab s7+ and i got heating problems on the edge of screen and near the pogo connector, it just feel uncomfortable to put my palm resting on the side for writing :((
After 6 months if using tab S6, I have to say that the Spen gestures is one of my favorite features on the tab. Skipping through tracks while making notes or sketching is super convenient
One of the clearest and professional reviews I have seen here in the UK. Well delivered, with all the detail one could wish for. The A7+ is now more advanced than I need as I have been an iPad user for the last 7 years and much of the advanced work is no longer needed nearing age 80, but I have today bought the Galaxy A7 10.4" tablet for my wife, who keeps taking my iPad. Best wishes for more quality presentations like this. I feel sure that many manufacturers will want you to present their products.

I knew your video quality was top notch but you really surprised me here. Amazing... Concerning the keyboard, it's strange mine has very strong mangnets and won't fall even if I shake it very hard.... It always aligns perfectly. I wonder if you got a bad unit.... As for the back cover no issues either, but I harlly ever remove it to be honest...

Also the magnets of the keyboard are extermely strong, no way it's detaching even if shacking hard, you can hold the tablet by the keyboard and it's not detaching, so he must have a bad unit...
I’ve had 2 iPad Pros - the last one being a 2018 - I now have a S7 plus - my point of view comes from being an illustrator- pros for me - more ram, Wacom tech in the S Pen, and I do like the softer tip - I have more control in my line work, so I work faster, expandable memory... and what sealed the deal was FINALLY my favourite application made it across - Clip Studio! Also the slighter lighter weight is a nice touch:) all of these make it slightly better
i have an android phone and a windows pc. would it make sense to get the ipad pro? I need something light to carry with me around campus and I usualy view more than one pdf at the same time, multiple internet tabs open and word or excel. The thing is to get s7+ with the 8 gb of ram I have to order it from germany (from the samsung online store, because from some reason I can't find it on amazon), while i can buy the ipad pro in my own country (my concern is warranty).
Got mine (s7+ Wi-Fi version) last week. It comes with stylus & keyboard cover. No LTE/5G version in my country yet. My keyboard does not have issues like Canoopsy. The magnet feels strong & doesn't peel off. Agreed with him that android only lack of killer app. Hopefully we can get the optimized version of adobe CC & autodesk software. It will be awesome in Dex Mode.
@@lucaspaniconi7013 I agree with you. For work, I also prefer actual computer since it's more versatile. I'm using AutoCAD, revit, civil3d. Most of the time I let my wife use it during work from home for her work (mostly words, excel, PowerPoint) as we only have one computer.
It's actually not better than the ipad pro. If you run it through dex it's better though, well sorta. You can't flip it horizontal or use split screen as well as not scaling quite right
@@BradSemenick It's better on Android as they can send notifications and fully utilize the connection stack such as Bluetooth (with the permission from the user, obviously, and can use infinite storage just like native apps. Apple cripples PWAs on purpose to force developers to make native apps which gives them 30% cut.
This is the best comparison video I've watched between these 2 tablets. All the good stuffs credited well, the bad stuffs are fair and honest. You also present the viable alternatives to several iPad pro apps that are available in Play Store, unlike many other reviewers just completely trash Android app ecosystem. I'm especially excited when you start talking about Dex because I know you always make videos of this hidden gem like every year, kudos. Also congrats on your 200k subs :v
i have ipad pro, i have to say i think you made the correct choice. the only downside the s7 has is lack of good apps and the fact android will probably stop supporting it software updates in 4 years.
Great review highlighting the pros and cons of each ecosystem! I'm half-Korean, so I'm obviously a part of Team Galaxy, but I also have iPads. I'm also quick to recommend "iOS" devices as often as I recommend Samsung devices.
I have to give you props my dude. You are literally the first person I have ever seen who reviewed a Tab S and iPad pro and objectively given the strengths and weaknesses of both platforms. I have an iPad pro-2020, and a Galaxy Tab S7+, and there wasn't one thing you said that I disagreed with. That never happens. Usually, reviewers say "iPad has the best apps", which basically means nothing at this point and shows that the person didn't really pay attention in their review and just said what they all say. But you broke it down. iPad has the better "pro" creative apps, but the Tab S has better productivity apps. Why this is so difficult for reviewers to say never fails to amaze me. Well done.
I recently purchased a 7+ and love it. I am an android user so it made sense for me although I looked hard at the iPad Pro. I use it for work and to watch videos and the Dex does work well for both. Thanks for an unbiased review.

We ordered a Galaxy Tab S7+ for my mom's retirement gift. She wanted a new computer but I knew what she needed. She is going to be so happy with the product. As soon as I teach her how to use it...😅
Can't make a mistake with S7+ and your mom will like it but nothing can change a pc for me. I have Samsung tab S6 btw. Asus g14 is one of the best if you want some compact and well built pc with great performance. It will get even better in the future with new amd cpus and nvidia gpus that made huge jumps compared to previous versions.
Seriously appreciate the open-mindedness here. I feel like every time I hear an iPad vs Android tablet comparison the Android tablets are written off by reviewers before they even start the review. Of course there are some benefits to the iPad but for people who aren't creative professionals, this tablet is great.
Well, maybe there hasn't been any competition until now. I have never seen an Android tablet that I would even consider, but this one seemed ok. Not that I would get it but seemed ok.
I mean.. you said it, for people who aren’t creative professionals, this tablet is great. People who do illustrations and are specifically looking for tablets where they can draw on and could cater to their needs would most definitely find the best one to use as much as possible. The apple pencil (or other pens) are used mostly, and if not, in the most amount of time by artists to work on a project. And it’s just that alot of artists prefer the pencil that works the best with a good pressure sensitivity but it doesn’t mean other tablets are bad for the people who use it for other things. To this i say, if you don’t want the current android tablets to be criticized, avoid watching actual artists review on it :))
@@suree861 the only thing that ipad has an ad advantage in which relates to drawing is the aspect ratio. S pen is far superior and clip studio is great

First time watcher of your channel! I really appreciate that you took an unbiased viewpoint despite being an ipad pro user. I'm debating between these two for next year's purchase (bc hopefully prices go down lmao) and I'm looking at this with a college student's perspective. Personally I'm a longtime user of apple so I'm used to the system and software, but I'm seriously considering the s7+. The narrower size of it kinda irks me, but I think the desktop system it has and the included S-Pen is a major plus. I'm hoping to use this for at least 3 years (unless i pursue a masters degree rip me) so I'm hoping a big purchase like these tablets can last way longer than that as a minimum. Really rare to see an Apple user who is unbiased. but I think you have a defective case, mine doesn't peel and the magnets are not weak at all. Quality of your video is also good, watching on my Tab S7 ;) You could have added, that you can use Samsung DeX wirelessly, to connect to a Smart TV for example.

I just recently picked up a Samsung S7 Plus with the keyboard stand/case and I absolutely love it! I use it all the time where I would normally use my phone and the internet and email interface on it are much better than on my phone and then with the Samsung Dex feature it takes the place of a lot of what my computer does so I don't have to fire up my desktop computer and go to my desk, instead I can sit on the couch in front of the TV and I can do most of the same things on my S8 Plus that I would normally do on my computer which is really cool. I really like having a device that acts like a tablet but also acts like something close to a laptop. I'm extremely satisfied with it!👍

As someone who switched from the iPad Pro to this, I agree with what he said. It is the BEST android tablet ever made but because its android, its basically a blown up android phone interface (outside of DeX), there are only some apps that has a tablet interface. I use this tablet mainly for creative work with Clipstudio (migrated from procreate) and taking notes. I do miss the creative pro apps on the iPad tho, but since I dont own anything apple outside of my old iPad Pro, switching devies is easy and surprsingly, the samsung/microsoft ecosystem is great! Also, thank you for this great review
Samsung notes app is so awesome! And now it syncs with one note 8) Now that android has a competing tablet, developers are working hard to update their android apps to work with tablet mode. I see many games now updated for tab s7+. Even CODM you can run max and max settings on the tab s7+ which you can't on ipad pro
Great review! You should probably ask Samsung to replace your keyboard, looks like a faulty piece. For me, the keyboard attachment magnets are pretty strong, in fact, they snap so hard that I worry if I can keep attaching/detaching it daily. I don't have an iPad to compare, but in general, it feels stronger than the Microsoft Surface Go keyboard I have.
Not very many people mention the fact that android has a full version of open office. While not as good as Microsoft office, it’s better than most tablet versions of an office suite. If you pair a Bluetooth mouse with your Samsung tablet you can get fairly close to a desktop productivity experience.
@Raj Khanna oneplus phones are really great. If you want a really good one which is last gen and not that expensive look for the OnePlus 7t I'm using it right now :)

Really good assessment (I'm watching this in my TAB S7 and the video quality and sound of your video looks amazing in the native quad HD resolution). I brought this last year and I have no regrets. I was torn between S7 and Ipad Pro 2020 but I went ahead and brought the S7 due to its better integration with my Samsung phone and windows laptop. One thing you should have mention is that samsung tab s7 users get lifetime paid version of noteshelf for free. It's an awesome app to take notes and annotate pdfs, I am a PhD candidate and I use the tab for reading all the research papers. Additionally, I made some illustrations and figures for my research papers using clip art studio app which comes with Tab S7.

But why tho... Did you even get the magic keyboard? Are u even trying t test the limits of the iPad Pro? Because Samsung failed to, so good luck, I bet the iPad Air 4 will beat the tab s7 in practically every segment, And the tab s7+ if it wants to.

@@alfred4831 I did actually, I used the iPad a lot, for my school, media, etc. I experienced what is to study with these devices. The iPad is great but for me Samsung made the tab extremely versatile, more than the iPad. An example of this is Dex, which brings a laptop experience to a Tablet. Apple has mouse but it is not the same. I prefer Samsung in the way Apple is to limited for me in aspects like multitasking. Both are great options but according to the aspects I mentioned before the Tab is a better option for me. Also the display, the UI, makes it a better option, I know the iPad Air 4 will be great but the tab and the entire ecosystem is not limited like Apple.

While I am in the apple ecosystem and feel it has many advantages over andriod/windows I like this reviewer as he sees value in products regardless of iOS or android. Having honest reviews hghlighting areas where one system excels over the other pits those systems against each other in a never ending game of technological one-upmanship benefiting us as consumers. Redundant feedback loops that deify our chosen sys or denegrates the other only serves those who have some unmet need for superiority. Years ago I remember being very jealous of my friend's huge samsung note screen and being *told* by my favorite company in the world that these overly large screens were a niche. Had to wait 3 o r 4 years to get my iPhone 6 with a larger screen. Conversely, another friend had to saliviate over my iPad for years, before he got the Tab 7+ which, while I'm not going to run to Best Buy to get, appears to be comparable. The Fan-dom of both sides only delays the incentive by competitors to innovate. We're better off technology wise if we acknowledge the areas the other exceeds so it pits those companies against each other to push the envelope.
I know I'm preaching the choir here, but that's because it's great: It's really cool to see an unbiased take on the advantages and disadvantages of both the Pro and the S7+.
My biggest fear is Samsung's software support. Usually after 3yrs they run slow and stop sending updates. Hopefully they make exceptions for quality products like this
I bought both the S7+ recently and the iPad Pro 12.9. I am only using the device for note-taking at university. My conclusion as someone that really does not like Apple and does not want to support them: The iPad Pro has much better notetaking applications. The apps on android just do not come even close in functionality (when annotating PDFs and exporting as PDF). The pen on the S7+ feels better to write with but not having such good software was the ultimate reason I chose the iPad. The S7+ is basically better in everything else. DeX is amazing, the pen is amazing, the screen is amazing, etc. Unfortunately for me, the PDF annotating apps like Notability or GoodNotes are just too good for a student to pass up. If you are looking for something purely to take notes with, I would go with the new iPad Air as the Pro really is not needed.
The ipad pro 128gb is 999$ and a extra 100$ for apple pen, whereas the s pen is free, with expandable storage • 256gb is 1099 plus 100 for apple pen • 512gb is 1299 plus 100 for apple pen So basically, you're paying 100$ more for the base iPad pro, $200 more the 256, and $400 for the top ipad pro storage, than the top s7+ Apple Air is $599 for 64gb with no expendable memory? And 32gb for 329$ lol. Apple knows that their users are oblivious. And this is why we say iphone ppl are dumb. You can get the galaxy tab s7 11 inch with 128gb internal and expendable memory for 649$. The only thing that the ipad can do better is edit videos faster. Other than that, there's no advantage Apple ppl have the same lame excuses as to why "iPad is better " because of the A chip 1. Performance is basically the same ( except for video editing) ask apple ppl in what dept is the performance better or where the chip really matters. They'll say gaming and video editing 2. Apps eventually go over to Android 3. Benchmarks means nothing when it comes to day to day use 4. Samsung gets security patch updates every month and now 3yrs of software updates. Who the hell wants to keep a device for 5 years when tech is moving so fast. 3 years is Enough. I personally trade in my Samsung device yearly with Samsung trade in program and split the difference. But Apple ppl like "we get 5 years of software updates " only apple ppl dumb enough to keep the same boring hardware for 5yrs while tech gets better. Heres your cookie 5. Samsung has its own ecosystem too. Buds, phone, watch, tablets, and laptops all works together
All good points, owning and using both devices (iPad Pro 2018 12.9 and S7) I think the 3 most important things it comes down to is apps, file system, and quality. So far, IMO, Apple wins in app variety and having more possible "pro" level apps as well as optimization with the Apple Pencil. The file system (and Dex) make Samsung the winner in that category. Lastly, quality, Apple has the better track record. Samsung needs to not sacrifice here to save a few bucks. Quality means longevity (usually).

Great video! I’m a long time Apple user and am heavily invested in the ecosystem (iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, Apple Watch, AirPods Pro) however I really love the look, purpose and functionality of DeX. Being able to carry a phone or tablet as a main computing device (using Office 365 suite online) and connect to a large monitor/s and enable a ‘desktop mode’ is a fantastic proposition. I’m not a designer, I only require MS Office apps/ notes for work and Spotify and Netflix/Prime for my downtime. I highly, highly doubt that Apple will ever introduce a DeX-type mode so I’m currently looking to purchase the S7+ now or S8+ when it launches.

I got an s6 and love it. The s7 is even better from what I can see. The included pen on the Samsung is actually big, didn't know how useful it was until I started using to study. As for the case, I think you got a defective one. The only gripe I had was that over time the magnet became very weak, but turns out I just had to clean it.
Finally!!!! A review that shows it’s ability to be used in a work/business setting (dex) vs. Creative purpose (adobe creative cloud support)! I’m in advertising and i’ve been researching the pros and cons used for layout and business needs. Thank you so much!

Got to say this is the first time I have heard any mainstream reviewer talk honestly about the tablet app situation on android. You even highlighted the fact actually android tablet apps are pretty good apart from missing some of the higher end advanced photo and video editing stuff and even pointed out some proper advantages of the S7+ has over the ipad. Was expecting the usual biased take down from an apple fan about an android tablet but instead got the most balanced and well thought out comparison I seen and its coming from an ipad user too. I own an S7+ and the clips are always attached correctly, and the magnets are definitely not that weak. my back cover also doesn't peel like that.

Trust me, as an android user myself, i cannot see in a forseeable future android applications cathing up with iPad Os ones. The gap is so huge that i recently changed to iPad from Android tablet. Good thing is you will never know the full extent unless you are a professional (Audio/Video/Sound&Light Engineering etc). Android tablets are a excellent for media consumption and browsing

@@krishhsood6621 I had the laggy S9, and i tried my aunt’s Note 10 plus. It was very inconsistent. The camera is blurry when you’re tryna take a picture while moving. And sometimes when you quit a heavy app fast, it lags. Also the animations are not smooth 1/4 at the time. I was a die hard samsung fan before, now i realize Samsung is not very reliable when you need it to be. It’s frustrating. My brother has the s20 fe and he says he wants to buy an iphone because it cant run his apps properly.

I currently have the Z fold 2 and multitasking is crazy smooth and never breaks. It’s not for everybody I hope you find what’s best for you man

@@aloneghost3060 I'm talking in terms of features, I upgraded from the X to the Xs Max within a year and the only notable change was the size and color, (& slight camera improvement) the 11 pro max was the first phone I never considered upgrading to bc it lacked innovation for me. I'm amazed how far android (samsung) has come in terms of fluidity. I love my Xs Max as I still have it as a backup, but if I'm comparing, it makes the iPhone interface seem boring as a whole, personally.

Honestly it's pretty rare to see an Apple user genuinely "hating" on Android stuff these days. (That was more of a 2000's thing.) You're far more likely to see folks bandwagoning against anything Apple because it's basically the trendy thing to do.

As an iPad Pro user, i must say that desktop experience looks amazing. It would seriously improve the iPad usability. Never mind being able to adjust resolution for an external monitor.
Oh and Google Stadia can be used on the iPad via webapp. Works great!

I still agree with apples decision to not just put macOS on the ipad. I think keeping it streamlined and optimised for focused tasks is the right decision, but i would love something similar to dex on ipad. Like a super pulled back and simplified verison of a desktop. Like how DEX is, its not a full version of a desktop experience, its like the perfect middles ground
Honestly the only reason I haven't switched to a Samsung Tab at this point is Procreate. (Only serious alternative on Android CSP--which is subscription-based, and a port. I love it on desktop, but too clunky for a tablet)

Samsung’s learning a lot from Microsoft. The Tab’s form factor is close to that of the Surface Pro’s, with the kickstand and snap-on keyboard. The Desktop UI is like a super-refined Win10. Pretty good job.
Agreed! DeX is a major reason why I'm thinking about eventually replacing my Surface Pro with the Galaxy Tab S line. Really been loving the functionality on my 2017 Note 8. But I want Samsung to first do the following:
- *Bring* *Back* *Linux* *on* *DeX!* Or better yet, enable the native installation and running of Linux Desktop apps in DeX mode. It makes much more sense for this kind of form factor and would be a great gateway for full-fledged Desktop apps on the Galaxy Tab line. Plus, as Apple demonstrated the full-fledged macOS Big Sur running on their 2 years old A12Z Bionic chipset from their iPad Pro line during their WWDC 2020 keynote, Linux on DeX will certainly be required to compete with that level of versatility.
- Add a second USB C port or full-sized USB A port for USB accessories while charging.
- Add a 3.5mm headphone jack for use while in flights or while our wireless headphones are charging.
- Make the keyboard cover accessory backlit and add angular typing like the Surface Pro line.
- Equip it with 16GB of RAM
If they implement all of the above, it'll be the first Android tablet I'll ever purchase. Will proudly replace my Surface Pro with it. My once in a blue-moon need for Windows applications will be perfectly served by my QNAP NAS. That need will only be shrinking as devs make their Android apps big-screen friendly, and port over their full-fledged Windows apps; literally NOTHING Windows can do, can't be replicated, and possibly made even more versatile on Android. Until then, sticking with my Surface Pro 2.

Back cover peeling might be an isolated issue. I'm in a huge S7/S7+ group and none of us have that complaint. It should be covered by warranty so you know what to do. 👍
is there any heating problems on your tablet? or your community tablets?, i just got my tab s7+ and i got heating problems on the edge of screen and near the pogo connector, it just feel uncomfortable to put my palm resting on the side for writing :((

After 6 months if using tab S6, I have to say that the Spen gestures is one of my favorite features on the tab. Skipping through tracks while making notes or sketching is super convenient
One of the clearest and professional reviews I have seen here in the UK. Well delivered, with all the detail one could wish for. The A7+ is now more advanced than I need as I have been an iPad user for the last 7 years and much of the advanced work is no longer needed nearing age 80, but I have today bought the Galaxy A7 10.4" tablet for my wife, who keeps taking my iPad. Best wishes for more quality presentations like this. I feel sure that many manufacturers will want you to present their products.

Concerning the keyboard, it's strange mine has very strong mangnets and won't fall even if I shake it very hard.... It always aligns perfectly. I wonder if you got a bad unit.... As for the back cover no issues either, but I harlly ever remove it to be honest...

Also the magnets of the keyboard are extermely strong, no way it's detaching even if shacking hard, you can hold the tablet by the keyboard and it's not detaching, so he must have a bad unit...

I’ve had 2 iPad Pros - the last one being a 2018 - I now have a S7 plus - my point of view comes from being an illustrator- pros for me - more ram, Wacom tech in the S Pen, and I do like the softer tip - I have more control in my line work, so I work faster, expandable memory... and what sealed the deal was FINALLY my favourite application made it across - Clip Studio! Also the slighter lighter weight is a nice touch:) all of these make it slightly better

i have an android phone and a windows pc. would it make sense to get the ipad pro? I need something light to carry with me around campus and I usualy view more than one pdf at the same time, multiple internet tabs open and word or excel. The thing is to get s7+ with the 8 gb of ram I have to order it from germany (from the samsung online store, because from some reason I can't find it on amazon), while i can buy the ipad pro in my own country (my concern is warranty).

Got mine (s7+ Wi-Fi version) last week. It comes with stylus & keyboard cover. No LTE/5G version in my country yet. My keyboard does not have issues like Canoopsy. The magnet feels strong & doesn't peel off. Agreed with him that android only lack of killer app. Hopefully we can get the optimized version of adobe CC & autodesk software. It will be awesome in Dex Mode.

It's actually not better than the ipad pro. If you run it through dex it's better though, well sorta. You can't flip it horizontal or use split screen as well as not scaling quite right

@@BradSemenick It's better on Android as they can send notifications and fully utilize the connection stack such as Bluetooth (with the permission from the user, obviously, and can use infinite storage just like native apps. Apple cripples PWAs on purpose to force developers to make native apps which gives them 30% cut.

This is the best comparison video I've watched between these 2 tablets. All the good stuffs credited well, the bad stuffs are fair and honest. You also present the viable alternatives to several iPad pro apps that are available in Play Store, unlike many other reviewers just completely trash Android app ecosystem. I'm especially excited when you start talking about Dex because I know you always make videos of this hidden gem like every year, kudos.

i have ipad pro, i have to say i think you made the correct choice. the only downside the s7 has is lack of good apps and the fact android will probably stop supporting it software updates in 4 years.

I have to give you props my dude. You are literally the first person I have ever seen who reviewed a Tab S and iPad pro and objectively given the strengths and weaknesses of both platforms. I have an iPad pro-2020, and a Galaxy Tab S7+, and there wasn't one thing you said that I disagreed with. That never happens. Usually, reviewers say "iPad has the best apps", which basically means nothing at this point and shows that the person didn't really pay attention in their review and just said what they all say.
But you broke it down. iPad has the better "pro" creative apps, but the Tab S has better productivity apps. Why this is so difficult for reviewers to say never fails to amaze me. Well done.

We ordered a Galaxy Tab S7+ for my mom's retirement gift. She wanted a new computer but I knew what she needed. She is going to be so happy with the product. As soon as I teach her how to use it...😅
Can't make a mistake with S7+ and your mom will like it but nothing can change a pc for me. I have Samsung tab S6 btw. Asus g14 is one of the best if you want some compact and well built pc with great performance. It will get even better in the future with new amd cpus and nvidia gpus that made huge jumps compared to previous versions.

Of course there are some benefits to the iPad but for people who aren't creative professionals, this tablet is great.

People who do illustrations and are specifically looking for tablets where they can draw on and could cater to their needs would most definitely find the best one to use as much as possible. The apple pencil (or other pens) are used mostly, and if not, in the most amount of time by artists to work on a project. And it’s just that alot of artists prefer the pencil that works the best with a good pressure sensitivity but it doesn’t mean other tablets are bad for the people who use it for other things.
To this i say, if you don’t want the current android tablets to be criticized, avoid watching actual artists review on it :))

First time watcher of your channel! I really appreciate that you took an unbiased viewpoint despite being an ipad pro user.
I'm debating between these two for next year's purchase (bc hopefully prices go down lmao) and I'm looking at this with a college student's perspective. Personally I'm a longtime user of apple so I'm used to the system and software, but I'm seriously considering the s7+. The narrower size of it kinda irks me, but I think the desktop system it has and the included S-Pen is a major plus. I'm hoping to use this for at least 3 years (unless i pursue a masters degree rip me) so I'm hoping a big purchase like these tablets can last way longer than that as a minimum. I just recently picked up a Samsung S7 Plus with the keyboard stand/case and I absolutely love it! I use it all the time where I would normally use my phone and the internet and email interface on it are much better than on my phone and then with the Samsung Dex feature it takes the place of a lot of what my computer does so I don't have to fire up my desktop computer and go to my desk, instead I can sit on the couch in front of the TV and I can do most of the same things on my S8 Plus that I would normally do on my computer which is really cool. I really like having a device that acts like a tablet but also acts like something close to a laptop. I'm extremely satisfied with it!👍

As someone who switched from the iPad Pro to this, I agree with what he said. It is the BEST android tablet ever made but because its android, its basically a blown up android phone interface (outside of DeX), there are only some apps that has a tablet interface. I use this tablet mainly for creative work with Clipstudio (migrated from procreate) and taking notes. I do miss the creative pro apps on the iPad tho, but since I dont own anything apple outside of my old iPad Pro, switching devies is easy and surprsingly, the samsung/microsoft ecosystem is great! Now that android has a competing tablet, developers are working hard to update their android apps to work with tablet mode. I see many games now updated for tab s7+. Even CODM you can run max and max settings on the tab s7+ which you can't on ipad pro

Great review! You should probably ask Samsung to replace your keyboard, looks like a faulty piece. For me, the keyboard attachment magnets are pretty strong, in fact, they snap so hard that I worry if I can keep attaching/detaching it daily. I don't have an iPad to compare, but in general, it feels stronger than the Microsoft Surface Go keyboard I have.

Not very many people mention the fact that android has a full version of open office. While not as good as Microsoft office, it’s better than most tablet versions of an office suite. If you pair a Bluetooth mouse with your Samsung tablet you can get fairly close to a desktop productivity experience.

Really good assessment (I'm watching this in my TAB S7 and the video quality and sound of your video looks amazing in the native quad HD resolution). I brought this last year and I have no regrets. I was torn between S7 and Ipad Pro 2020 but I went ahead and brought the S7 due to its better integration with my Samsung phone and windows laptop. One thing you should have mention is that samsung tab s7 users get lifetime paid version of noteshelf for free. It's an awesome app to take notes and annotate pdfs, I am a PhD candidate and I use the tab for reading all the research papers. Additionally, I made some illustrations and figures for my research papers using clip art studio app which comes with Tab S7.

@@alfred4831 I did actually, I used the iPad a lot, for my school, media, etc. I experienced what is to study with these devices. The iPad is great but for me Samsung made the tab extremely versatile, more than the iPad. An example of this is Dex, which brings a laptop experience to a Tablet. Apple has mouse but it is not the same. I prefer Samsung in the way Apple is to limited for me in aspects like multitasking. Both are great options but according to the aspects I mentioned before the Tab is a better option for me. Also the display, the UI, makes it a better option, I know the iPad Air 4 will be great but the tab and the entire ecosystem is not limited like Apple.

While I am in the apple ecosystem and feel it has many advantages over andriod/windows I like this reviewer as he sees value in products regardless of iOS or android. Having honest reviews hghlighting areas where one system excels over the other pits those systems against each other in a never ending game of technological one-upmanship benefiting us as consumers. Redundant feedback loops that deify our chosen sys or denegrates the other only serves those who have some unmet need for superiority. Years ago I remember being very jealous of my friend's huge samsung note screen and being *told* by my favorite company in the world that these overly large screens were a niche. Had to wait 3 o r 4 years to get my iPhone 6 with a larger screen. Conversely, another friend had to saliviate over my iPad for years, before he got the Tab 7+ which, while I'm not going to run to Best Buy to get, appears to be comparable. The Fan-dom of both sides only delays the incentive by competitors to innovate. We're better off technology wise if we acknowledge the areas the other exceeds so it pits those companies against each other to push the envelope.

My biggest fear is Samsung's software support. Usually after 3yrs they run slow and stop sending updates. Hopefully they make exceptions for quality products like this

I bought both the S7+ recently and the iPad Pro 12.9. I am only using the device for note-taking at university.
My conclusion as someone that really does not like Apple and does not want to support them:
The iPad Pro has much better notetaking applications. The apps on android just do not come even close in functionality (when annotating PDFs and exporting as PDF). The pen on the S7+ feels better to write with but not having such good software was the ultimate reason I chose the iPad.
The S7+ is basically better in everything else. DeX is amazing, the pen is amazing, the screen is amazing, etc. Unfortunately for me, the PDF annotating apps like Notability or GoodNotes are just too good for a student to pass up.
If you are looking for something purely to take notes with, I would go with the new iPad Air as the Pro really is not needed.
The ipad pro 128gb is 999$ and a extra 100$ for apple pen, whereas the s pen is free, with expandable storage
• 256gb is 1099 plus 100 for apple pen
• 512gb is 1299 plus 100 for apple pen
So basically, you're paying 100$ more for the base iPad pro, $200 more the 256, and $400 for the top ipad pro storage, than the top s7+
Apple Air is $599 for 64gb with no expendable memory? And 32gb for 329$ lol. Apple knows that their users are oblivious. And this is why we say iphone ppl are dumb.
You can get the galaxy tab s7 11 inch with 128gb internal and expendable memory for 649$. The only thing that the ipad can do better is edit videos faster. Other than that, there's no advantage
Apple ppl have the same lame excuses as to why "iPad is better " because of the A chip
1. Performance is basically the same ( except for video editing) ask apple ppl in what dept is the performance better or where the chip really matters. They'll say gaming and video editing
2. Apps eventually go over to Android
3. Benchmarks means nothing when it comes to day to day use
4. Samsung gets security patch updates every month and now 3yrs of software updates. Who the hell wants to keep a device for 5 years when tech is moving so fast. 3 years is Enough. I personally trade in my Samsung device yearly with Samsung trade in program and split the difference. But Apple ppl like "we get 5 years of software updates " only apple ppl dumb enough to keep the same boring hardware for 5yrs while tech gets better. Heres your cookie
5. Samsung has its own ecosystem too. Buds, phone, watch, tablets, and laptops all works together
All good points, owning and using both devices (iPad Pro 2018 12.9 and S7) I think the 3 most important things it comes down to is apps, file system, and quality. So far, IMO, Apple wins in app variety and having more possible "pro" level apps as well as optimization with the Apple Pencil. The file system (and Dex) make Samsung the winner in that category. Lastly, quality, Apple has the better track record. Samsung needs to not sacrifice here to save a few bucks. Quality means longevity (usually).

Great video! I’m a long time Apple user and am heavily invested in the ecosystem (iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, Apple Watch, AirPods Pro) however I really love the look, purpose and functionality of DeX. Being able to carry a phone or tablet as a main computing device (using Office 365 suite online) and connect to a large monitor/s and enable a ‘desktop mode’ is a fantastic proposition. I’m not a designer, I only require MS Office apps/ notes for work and Spotify and Netflix/Prime for my downtime. I highly, highly doubt that Apple will ever introduce a DeX-type mode so I’m currently looking to purchase the S7+ now or S8+ when it launches.

I got an s6 and love it. The s7 is even better from what I can see. The included pen on the Samsung is actually big, didn't know how useful it was until I started using to study.
As for the case, I think you got a defective one. The only gripe I had was that over time the magnet became very weak, but turns out I just had to clean it.
