Sakitech sorry your wrong, Huawei media pads from media pad M5 have the feature where you have a desktop mode direct on the tablet which you can also cast to a TV. Essentially samsung copied Huawei

Samsung quietly did - successfully - what Microsoft desperately tried to do with Windows 8.
microsoft is in a soft partnership now with samsung.. thats why Microsoft office is on the devices heavy now. and when i go into the room with my laptop it auto connects and i get my messages on the laptop screen without using dex
Microsoft tried to turn an x86 gui into a tablet/portable software. Samsung took android (which was originally an x86 program that was already turned into arm based program) and made it do desktop things again. Big whoop.

DeX was featured 2 years after the release of Windows 10 so comparing it to Windows 8 isn't fair
Maybe because microsoft think to migrate Desktop experience into mobile, and meanwhile Samsung tried to do the oposite (Mobile experience into Desktop Experience). So its more easy and more room to explore because mobile experience is more simple than desktop experience.
This is the most underrated feature on any mobile device (phone & tablet). At work, when I show/flex Samsung DeX on my Note 10+, all the iPhone users are blown away! I use it during presentations all from my Note 10+

I got from a Note 10 plus to an IPhone and i really dont miss it. It is a funny mode but it is nothing special. I can bring my macbook and have a presentation to.

Only difference is that for those you display dex on an external screen, which also works for these tabs.

As a iPhone user, (and ocassionally iPad) this feature made me order this tablet over iPad air. I have twice 256GB (expansible micro SD) over the 64GB for almost the same Price.
That’s what I like most of Android devices.
Samsung Dex just seems too professional.

Dex is a cool feature. Having developers jump to creating tablet apps on Android is the next step if Samsung really wants to be an iPad competitor

Dex mode has been available since Note 8. Or maybe even earlier.

I have not found an instance yet where it has been truly useful.
@@Devolont a lot of apps aren’t optimized for android on tablets, they either scale poorly or force portrait mode. With Dex, they open like they would on a pc and you can split screen easy as can be. Dex is super super useful on the s7+

I use this feature daily on my Tab S5e, that too wirelessly.. Samsung Dex is available on Tab S4 and S6 also.
What about software updates when did you get one the last time, planning to buy tab s7 and concerned about software support,I'm gonna use it for 5 yrs straight

One think to also note. Most apps have pop up view options. If your not a fan of Dex Mode or don't want to use it, you can open your apps in pop up view.
I had both tablets but S7 plus is BEST. I like it more than IPad despite being Apple fan..

I had been a Samsung customer for a long time. Using Galaxy S or Notes as primary cell phone. Im strongly in the mood of get a Galaxy Tab S7+ LTE as primary device, as cell phone and Tablet
Bladimir Becerra as an ex fruit user I defected to Samsung phone and S7+ tab and find it better than the fruit pro tab it also charges much much faster you will not be disappointed.
@jdouglas8585 Verizon and AT&T have removed the Call and Text feature from their Samsung phones. You can only use texting with Verizon's Messages+ app. VZW customers were upset. The company would not tell them rhe truth.

My ipad pro 12" has alway taken an age to charge the s7+ is under a quarter of the time I have even tried using the samsung charger no good the ipad is govened to a set charge rate full stop . do your research befor comenting that is what you call common sense

You should show this next: You can cast Dex wirelessly to a TV and still use the tablet like normal.
For me: I put youtube, discord & an art reference on the TV casted from the tablet and while that's going on I'm working on a file in Clip Studio Paint

Sakitech, thank you so much for the wireless mouse example. I have been waiting for any reviewer to talk about this. No one else does for some strange reason. Android OS has been able to do this mouse and keyboard thing for like a decade now. And its wonderful that is has gotten better with DeX. As it is right now like all Samsung phone and earlier tablets support mouse and keyboard but nobody realizes it.

Well they kinda copied Apple. The design literally looks identical to apples design. They just improved it, so I don’t know if you can say Samsung destroyed Apple with the tablet when they really copied mostly everything. Just look at the pencil.

The form factor is not completely copied from ipad, go to read the spec. Tech... And then android is more open like a operating system. This year Samsung win. (my opinion) 😉
In what way is it better it's still not as fast still not as smooth can't even compare to the graphics in games (this tablet was only made to try n close the gap between them n apple n they still ain't even close)

Android ruins Samsung DeX features. If they can fix it, it will be perfect. I have both iPad Pro and Tab S7+. Love both. But the funny thing is that I use iPad Pro more for working (because apps are better in the App store) and S7+ for entertainment. 😂 I think most ppl will do the opposite.
I use my Samsung Tab S7+ in DeX mode most of the time.. It is THAT good.

The tab is really good and a perfect device but it's like a very good train without the rails to drive on
It just doesn't have alot of powerful apps, so it's basically a big phone
Where as the Ipad has way better apps.
I bought the tab but I sent it back and got the ipad pro, im really happy with it. Hope this helps

Tab7 definitely changed my perception of iPads. It is better device overall, more flexible in most of respects. I moved from Apple to Android phone and table. Never looked back.

Does cinema hd app work okay on s7+? I heard there are problem with apps on this device
I just ordered a s7 + tablet on a trial. Should I keep it (I'm thinking the discounts Samsung is offering may make it worth it) or wait for the next generation coming out late this year or beginning of next year. Thoughts? I just also purchased a Samsung Z fold 3 that has a faster processor and more ram but I want to replace some old home laptops with this to pay bills, etc with so that is what it's for. Dex with MS program's will be useful to me since I use Excel spreadsheet.

With dex mode cast to the TV and tablet in tablet mode, can you use the pen on the tablet and mouse of the dex mode on the TV?
Can dex mode act as an extended screen? Like if you have the tablet and casted screen in dex mode?
On my S7, I put a Google Chromecast on to my monitor and using wireless Dex. That's what us cheap folks use. Works fantastic with wireless mouse and keyboard.

Android lacks daw. If you want to use a tablet for music production then the only choice is ipad.

I'm watching this on my steam-driven S4 Tab. I feel totally inadequate now. I feel old. I feel out of touch. I feel disenfranchised. I feel I have no friends. I feel like giving up. Life can't be this bad surely? I might not get out of bed now. I will have to get one to rejuvenate my life. The fact that I can change the wallpaper is the clincher. You can even use a mouse on it. You can even cast it to a crappy LG Tv. How good is that?

Samsung Dex ( now wireless ) is another outstanding idea from the best tech company...as he mentioned, not even the fruit logo company can match this. AS of now, 5 people disliked and why? Must've been some of the fruit logo company fans....!!
Huawei was the first to do it it with their phones wireless desktop mode works very well. Also the first to do direct desktop mode with their media pad tablets from their media pad M5 upwards.

The bluetooth keyboard and mouse connection features were already available around 2012 developed by Motorola and I've used that on Motorola Atrix phone at that time, using what they called HID, connecting both wireless keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth on the same device.
Screen cast from Android phone/tablet to TV has been around too for years. Maybe I have used them so they're nothing new to me, just that manufacturers did not emphasize these features much the last decade but with newer faster processors and much higher Ram, must say these features are great for productivity and running more efficient now.

Thank you for this! This helped my decision to move to Samsung. Dex mode is underated and very powerful for business office users. Paired with the Z Fold 3, the combination can run 2 M365 accounts, share screens, add wireless monitor, make video/phone calls from both accounts and handle remote Xbox gaming on S7 tab during breaks.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! To eliminate steps connecting your tablet to your big TV, I found you can also pull down the shortcuts and just press and HOLD the DEX shortcut and a list of TV's will appear that you can connect to. No need to go through settings. But I do have a question that's been bugging me. I've been using DEX as my main driver for 2 years (PC is now collecting dust) but there are 2 apps that have DEX compatibility issues ONLY on newer tablets. Kindle Reader and Message +. Both of these apps will run perfectly in DEX using an external screen on my TAB S4 and my TAB S6, but when I purchased a second TAB S6, the apps refuse to work that way in the NEW TAB S6. I also tried running these apps on a TAB S7 and both state they must operate in tablet mode. Both of my TAB S6's have the same software versions and OS. Why would these apps run perfectly fine in DEX on one TAB S6 and not on the newer TAB S6? or even a TAB S7? Anyone?? Also, both of these apps DO WORK fine in the DEX environment when DEX is running on the tablet. It's only when you connect DEX to an external screen (or wireless to your TV) where these 2 apps refuse to operate ONLY on my NEW TAB S6. I'm stumped. Thank you for your video's and expertise. They are always SO helpful!

Good stuff Saki! I pre-ordered the tab S7+ from Samsung but haven't received it yet. I can't wait to try using it when I start my online degree program next month. I will mostly use Word and take screen write notes from my online textbooks. If it doesn't work out I can revert to my Surface Book II.

is it possible to broadcast your xbox game pass ultimate game play from the tab s7? Not with something like OBS, but broadcast like on the xbox consoles?
Can you show a demonstration on how to use the "call on other devices" feature? It's in the advanced settings on the Tab S7+ and mine is turned on but on the Tab, a QR code shows up and I use my AT&T Note 20 Ultra to scan the QR Code but all it does on the phone is show a link that leads nowhere, I even tried third party QR Code apps and still no luck. I would love to be able to text from it.
