    I have many Surefire X300 Ultra's and a few Surefire 640DF's and just bought my first ever Olight Odin Mini. I've been contemplating selling all my Surefires and getting all Olights and your most excellent review has convinced me that is the right move!!! I'm more impressed with this Olight than any Surefire I've ever owned!!!

    First let me say I love your weapons! they're Beautiful, I too love O-light and have been on the receiving end of OMG nice gun but you got a O=light on it! I own some stream lights, nightstick and in OL valkyrie pro, Odin and a balder S and my son owns 3 or 4 also, we have never had a problem with any of them, they just work! I put my Pro on my 10.5 rifle I like the adjustability of Olights you can move/slide them to adjust to where your finger sits instead of you adjusting to the light. I personally cant justify the price of surefire, plus the fact they past the actual barrel of the pistol and just kinda ugly, I was gonna buy a surefire once but instead I used that money and bought a nice Eotech sight for one of my rifles. glad to see someone out there believes exactly what I do, not gonna spend the price of another pistol for a flashlight...sorry

    In my opinion streamlight and Olight are better than Surefire for the everyday gun owner/edc lights. Streamlight and Olight are about the same price for comparable products and are both about half the price of surefire. Surefire is great but i agree, they are overpriced for something that may or may not be slightly better.

    You need to get your hands on the Olight Valkyrie Turbo LEP light. It kills the SF X300 U turbo. The problem is all of the best holster makers like Tier1 refuse to make holsters for the OL Valkyrie Turbo. The LEP (white laser light) is the way of the future!

    Ive been buying flashlights since i was 15. My first was a streamlight stinger, klarus, armytek, olight, fenix, nitecore. All of them out perform surefire and always have. From the features, quality and pricing, china has us beat on cost/materials. As lame as it is, a lot of products come out of china. I gaurentee surefire uses the same cells as the high and chinese manufactuers. I wish it wasnt so expensive for materials in the US.

  • @coltonowens2742
    @coltonowens2742 Год назад +6

    As a flashlight hobbyist, I don't doubt that Olight components themselves are solid enough, there are only a few LED manufactures out there after all, but I simply do not trust Olight themselves, to take the time to make sure they are put together properly. Good solder joints, thermal grease were its needed, and potting compound all is what separates bad lights from great lights.
    Surefire absolutely overprices the shit out of their lights though. I can build and equivalent, or better for a fourth of the cost, that will absolutely eat the Surefire's lunch.

    I owned a surefire x300 turbo for about a week... Quickly realized that an Olight PL Turbo Valkyrie had better specs (slightly) fit my gun better, had replaceable batteries (I don't like rechargablbles) and a solid clamp. That sits on my HK P30L, solid light, and super high candela for overcoming light barriers. Someone asked "how can you run an Olight on an HK!" My response, "eh, they're both known for war crimes" 🤣

    Been running an Olight with green laser/light on my Galil gen2 for almost 3 years. Think about it, middle of the night with no situational awareness because I'm waking up and now I have a good reliable cheap laser that I can use to shoot 30 feet accurately without shouldering my weapon ... nuff said.

    I have a Daniel defense m4a1 with an olight warrior x4 on it. I absolutely love the light but I must say the tail cap failed me and I had to get a replacement. Normal use nothing crazy. I unscrewed the tail cap so it wouldn’t turn on by accident in my backpack. Went to turn it on later on in the day and it did nothing at all. I couldn’t believe it. I must say customer service was great. Sent me a battery and tail cap free of charge. But the light should’ve never did that, it wasn’t abused or anything. Just sharing one of my experiences with olight. And I still love the warrior x4. It was the tail cap that failed on me. What if I was in a lod situation? I was disappointed I haven’t even used the light much at all pretty much still brand new

    As a LEO in Los Angeles for about a decade, Ill tell you I was issued with M&P (Gen 1 and 2) and X300U as part of my duty weapon. I bought a DG switch to make it easier to have momentary illumination. The surefire has held up well. Never got loose or wiggled off. I had rechargeable batteries and regular single use OEM batteries, always worked. Consider we shoot rounds during academy, quarterly shooting qualification, and some weekend matches. The detachable holster was only recently approved a couple of years ago. But everything before that required me removing my weapon from my holster day in, day out. between custody facilities and court room attendance. It’s held up. ….. Secondly, another good point is that fact that it people will rather pay an American company first, considering tension builds and your ideology. Which is fine. Plus, it is sometimes easier to continue using the same brand across all equipment as you will be able to interchange parts within your arsenal……But if you are starting out, and want a complete weapon set to learn and adapt techniques to. I don’t think you should be fanged. If a we had civil unrest or war, as long as you a friendly and not opposition, I wouldn’t care what you use.

    I think your missing a significant reason why A LOT of ppl are against companies like Olight or Holosun and that’s bc they’re made in China. Supporting American manufacturing is important. We need need to protect US job’s, especially in the firearms industry. Look at the innovation coming out of Cloud Defensive, Modlite, & HRT. If everyone bought Chinese lights just bc their cheap and have a few more features, we’d never get the Rein 3.0 or AWLS. Just my two cents. Love the channel. Keep making vids! 👍

      ill support american companies as long as they arent trying to fuck me. surefire is outright screwing you and spitting in your face for buying their products. everyone needs to keep buying these chinese lights because they will force american companies to make better lights at reasonable prices. you think surefire's actual cost is over $100 for an x300? its not... they mark up to a ridiculous degree cause they have government contracts and dont need the consumer market so they price gouge it.

    For what they are, Olights are cheap and are of good value. By no means the best, but they still are good. In my own experience however, the rechargeable batteries don't have the greatest of battery life, usually enough several hours at a night time range trip or two. Sometimes their cheaper quality is noticeable, too. Nonetheless, they still are good value lights, hopefully the competition will eventually bring more reputable brands to reconsider and redesign new stuff at low prices. Recently bought an X300U, I will just have to see if it really is better as everyone says it is once I get it. Combined with Olights current Black Friday sale, I might have to pick up that new Valkyrie PL-3, for $55 it seems like a steal

      @@maximusjoseppi5904 Have had it for a few days now, and so far, I like it, am getting used to it. It's on a full size pistol with a compensator, so it's not really out of place despite it's massive size. It's size and the tail switch are my only two complaints, but I found a third party accessory that replaces the tail switch control with extended controls, should make it easier to use. I can easily return through Amazon, but won't make a final decision until I can buy that Valkyrie PL-3 from Olight's sale and compare it. That or the Valkyrie Turbo
