sad that the decisions dont have a lot of impact on your gameplay. Small little boosts here and there. Some cool nicknames, sure, but nothing game changing, except for Greatest of Khans, of course.
Don't fix the great schism if you plan on taking Christian land for yourself. If you have your own denomination and the cultural tradition by the sword you can just take kingdom after kingdom
@@ecargfosreya Your character has to be a culture with either the West Slavic, East Slavic, or South Slavic heritage. Other than that, no restrictions, though you do have to conquer a shit ton of land.
I recently mended the great schism in one of my games starting as Duchess Matilda. I was originally starting the game just going for the reunification of Italy decision, and already had gotten Rome. Then while I was playing I noticed that the Byzantine Emperor didn't have any valid heirs- just one son out of wedlock. I looked at the sucession and he had a sister who only had one daughter, who I married to my heir. The two people before her were old and sick, so I was able to inherit the whole empire very quickly and easily. At that point the only ones left were Alexandria and Jerusalem which were very easy. It was really great luck and a lot of fun.
Had one with the byzantine empire where i ended up defending my jerusalem with muslims against christians. Right about ten years before i mended the great chism
Probably the most amusing decision I came across was forming the kingdom of Cornwall. The only land required for that is the duchy of Cornwall, meaning you can make a two county kingdom tier realm. The challenge here is staying alive.
Forgot to mention that if you hold Wessex and Hwice they flip to Cornwall when you form the Kingdom. So it can start as a 4 Duchy Kingdom that is relatively fun to make when you play in 1066
Forming Norman culture is especially powerful if you start 867 and dont get into feudal for a good chunk of time. In my game I got hung up by a few bad rulers and couldnt get feudal (Meaning I was stuck in tribal tech), once I got out I was still so far behind everyone else. Forming the Norman culture catapulted me an entire era and made me competitive with the other european rulers
15:45 Interesting note for "Establish Norman Culture", Rollo "de Normandie" is in the game in the 867 start as a courtier of Chieftain Rögnvaldr of Trændheim. So start as Rögnvaldr, capture Rouen, grant it to Rollo, grant independence if possible, switch to Rollo and forge a legacy.
Best way to do it is - create your own ruler so you can marry Saga Truthspeaker, divorce her marry her to Rollo, Take Northern Isles grant them to Rollo, switch to Rollo, take 1 Baltic county, forge Jomsviking, Elevate Mann, Take Normandy, Adopt special succession, Establish Norman Culture. You are now so OP its ridiculous
To add on to the "Empower Sicilian Parliament" decision, yes it does make the Kingdom of Naples. It also splits the Kingdom of Sicily into two, Making the Island of Sicily itself into its own kingdom called "Trinacria". Naples also becomes de jure land for The Empire of Italia, however Trinacria stays de jure byzantine.
Becoming the Saoshyant (Zoroastrian messiah) was really fun and challenging. I did it by focusing on military talents for my rulers and force converting my prisoners whenever I could. Chakravarti looks similarly fun!
I just had a pretty great playthrough going for the "Become the Saoshyant" decision. Started as a 1-county Zoroastrian ruler in the middle of a bunch of different faiths that considered me evil. Had to quickly convince one of my neighbors to let me swear fealty to them, negotiate a title revocation and religious immunity contract and build myself up using them as a shield from the surrounding hostile rulers. Eventually the Byzantines declared a holy war on my liege, so I had to break out and instead swear myself under the Byzantine Empire. Having that as an umbrella, growth became easier. I formed a kingdom under the Byzantines and kept expanding east and south until I was strong enough to put up a fight as an independent ruler should the emperor choose to attack me. Took a good while (partly due to a current confirmed bug concerning Zoroastrian rulers and city vassals...), but eventually I formed and took control of the entire Persian Empire, and became The Saoshyant. Great time, and had I chosen to continue, all my heirs would have a nice trait from it. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to try carving out a space in a hostile area!
My favorite by far is “Destroy the Papacy”, I find it fun bringing down the entire Catholic religion by taking over the whole of Italia as a different religion.
How to become the Khan of Khans with actual Mongolia: 1. Make as many allies as you can 2. When they call you to defense, actually go. Your goal is to farm as much Reknown as possible. 3. Once you have enough Reknown, shit up a giant fuck off army 4. Around this time, Great Liao should be imploding in civil war 5. Call upon all your allies and you should have even numbers with Liao 6. Lifetime CB of Kingdom Invasion on Liao 8. ??? 9. CONGRATS you are now the power house in the region 10. Mass execute as many people as you can until you dread is high as shit and keep the rest in your prison for your son to do the same. 11. If you're good, you should be able to take the Greatest of Khans action within a single life time.
I've only made it to the second entry in the video so far, but I wanted to chime in: becoming the Chakravarti from an 876 Lambakkana start has been tons of fun. I wasn't able to pull it off until the late 1200s, but as of 1350, I've fended off two Crusades from Rome for Mesopotamia, which is my westernmost king title.
Nice vid :) I would like to mention for others the decision to "become the Saoshyant": Not only hold the Empire of Persia title but also all de jure counties belonging to it and be a zoroastrian ruler. Nice thing for yourself and also your descendents will have a boni! And now... I feel the urge for a playthrough of "Shityy, land of the greatest of Khans" xD
Kept starting in England wanting to reclaim Britannia, and having a time with raiders. Now in Italy looking to reunite Italia. Thanks for the list of other things to look at.
Fun fact, since Brittany also has a Goidelic culture, you can actually invade England from there and still get yourself the title of Pendragon, while also holding a neat little slice of the continent as a jumping-off point!
on "reclaim britannia" breton also works and is probably the easiest of the 3 by allying with and then swearing allegiance to william the conquerer or harald godwinson (i did it in 1066)
I played a norse to norman campaign recently. Took a few generations to get Norman culture, but when I did, I discovered that the Franks had managed to get War Elephants. Had a great time seiging Alba with a stack of Elephants.
I managed to be the greatest of Khan by starting as Cumania in MP! I partnered up with a Seljuk buddy after I end up in a losing fight with the Byzantine Empire and, under his auspice, slowly wed a Mongol wife and gather my power. I was very proud of that playthru; ol'Arslan never saw it coming :v
Can confrim that you keep longships when converting to Norman culture, did it on a recent run. Can also confrim that adopting all French innovations is pretty dope! Massive tech boost for a Tribal to Feudal Transition!
Easiest to Mend the Great Schism as the Byzantine Empire you say!? BAH! I accomplished this as the Glorious High Emperor of Ireland. Allowing the true faith, Insular Christianity to prosper. Allow the Byzantine Empire to destroy themselves and take advantage. I was able to marry my children with the Eastern Romans and after they lost a holy war with the then Arabian Empire, I absolutely clapped them cheeks. The Eastern Romans had more technology, but they were war-torn, while my men were fresh, ready for war and well supplied with sword and Guinness!
Mybe the Kingdom of Bosnia should be the your next “lets play” series. In 1066 is super hard but i 867 its a bit easier. Also there is the Found new Kingdom decision and its much easier (you need to have three duchies only) would love to see this as your next series.
Forming Portugal to me is really fun because I take the route of getting independence and forming Portugal while letting the Castillians get their land, its a struggle to fight the Moors with the land thats given to me, any piece I manage to take away from the moors is a God sent
Just finished my run forming Portugal, managed to create the empire of Hispania and take over most of northern and Western Africa while leading in crusades.
I find Switzerland to be a really fun game. It’s pretty easy to play tall, cozy your way into an alliance with France and just smash people with pikemen in the mountains! (Play a custom ruler, most vanilla rulers suck. I go for Brave, Gregarious, Humble, Tier 3 Martial Education, Age 16. Stat total of 13/18/13/7/10 12 prowess. Immediately give away some levies to guarantee council position and become the steward of the HRE so you actually have the money to do anything)
Every time I play the Byzantine empire that's what I do. You make the ultimate religion and then immediately then the great schism and then pretty much all of Christianity becomes your flavor of Christianity. Just make sure you make yourself ahead of religion and have communion.... Money!!!
in my first game in ironman, when i didn't about playing tall or any of that, i accidentally mended the great schism as orthodox Sardinia. that silver mine + small culture are great conditions for all the mediterranean quests.
What do you think about the "Found the Kingdom of Burgundy"-Decision? I find it sounds pretty interesting, especially since that decision gives you independence from the HRE if I recall correctly. And also because of the history of Burgundy having been absorbed by the HRE a while before 1066 and so on. I imagine it would make for a cool "small and independent but strong Kingdom in the middle of Europe, influencing every kingdom around it"-scenario.
Also worth mentioning: If you decide to empower the sicilian parliament, you can either have it in Palermo OR Napoli. Beware though, if you do establish it in Napoli, then you can't create the university of Napoli. The parliament occupies the "Special building" slot of that county, so you can't have both unless you create the parliament in Palermo.
In the 867 start as Wessex, i formed the Kingdom of Weesex, then the Kingdom of England and destroyed the Kingdom of Wessex title cuz i didnt understand partition at the time. Once i made it to the door step of Alba i was given the decision to embrace English culture. So i was anglo saxon and could make that decision (and did). The year is around 940 when i did that. Ironman mode enabled.
Playing as the kingdom of England from the same starting point at the moment but I married my way to that title by inheriting land. But it does mean that all the other culture around me are related to me some how and it’s now starting to make all my monarchs look very similar. Like you can tell one is the father of the other for example
Grubbing all that HRE land as king of France can be much easier than expected, but establishing Carolinigan border is quote tricky. Problem is that you get voted as Holy Roman Emperor, and you get all that land, but you don't have that decision any more. Destroying HRE cost around 11k prestige, but if you do that, you don't get that decision back.
@@italianspartacus I think a video on restoring Rome would be very popular, especially with the 3 different routes to do it. I'd be interested in tips on conquering the requisite land when doing the Italian route, as the other routes seem to provide you with a casus Belli to conquer the whole of the other empire once you reach a specific stage, which you can't seem to do as Italia
From what ive gathered from the Empower Sicilian Parliament is meant to represent the Post War of, The Sicilian Vespers so if you do it withouth controlling every single de jure county of the Kingdom it causes the split.
Sicilian Parliament decision gives you the choice of a capital in Naples or Palermo, you get the Kingdom of Naples as your new kingdom title if you pick naples, and trinacria if you pick palermo, you can always create the new second kingdom from the title menu, it reflects when the Kingdom of Sicily was split in two by the Sicilian vespers (a member of the French royal family, Charles of Anjou was kicked out of the island of Sicily but still controlled the Mezzogiorno, the king of Aragon became the new king of the island of sicily, they were both, very confusingly, called the Kingdom of Sicily. They reunited in the early 19th century).
1. Conquer Neustria as a Norseman and form the norman culture 2. conquer England as a norman and form the English culture 3. succeed in a crusade, become a crusader state and then form the outremer culture 4. Profit 5. You could have used this time to do something productive, for shame
You can basically unlock all of tribal innovation as norse embracing norman and then english culture in 867. and if you created HRE and archduchy of austria before embracing any culture your realm get primogeniture. Then you get the second empire of francia and conquer HRE from any character as french culture guy the french culture get some mid-late innovations. Then you embrace norman and later english culture and you have the most advanced culture group in the game and Primogeniture.
So basically: 1.Preferably start as norse guy in 867 and swear fealty to some feudal guy for feudalism and Jesus 2.Conquer East Francia, Bavaria, etc. 3.Create HRE and create Archduchy of Austria for that sweet Primogeniture. (and switzerland if you loose leadership of HRE somehow. You can even wage war of independance as Austria or Swiss and reconvert to norse for holy wars if you want.) 4.Convert to French. 5.Conquer all of The French Empire and some of iberia 6.Give the HRE title to some weak dude 7.Restore Carolingian Borders for some sweet innovations. 8.Reconvert to norse and then Embrace the norman culture. Now you merge the norse and french innovations. 9.Conquer ALL of the british isles and create Empire Of Brittania. 10. Set the capital in the british isles. preferably Salisbury(Stonehange for 15% learning experience) 11.Merge the Norman and Anglo-saxon innovations.
For Chakravarti, I wouldn't underestimate Cedi either. Vaishnavism is a great Hindu faith with it's Determine Bhakti decision, and in 867 you can just submit to one of its larger neighbors and gobble it up from the inside. Easily my most succesful game to date, which resulted in me conquering Rome in self-defense because the Pope would not play nice with the crusades (i.e. sucidially launching into Jerusalem every 10 or so years), and at least that way I could imprison him after a crusade.
You should have put the chain decisions in order. Restore Sicilian Parliament into Unify Italy into Restore the Roman Empire into Mend the Great Schism into Dismantle the Greek Pretenders.
Mend Great Schism was great. I started to play as a pagan Duke from Greater Poland region. I conquered all around, then Papacy and turned to Christianity and feudal. Next I grabbed most of Balcans and arranged relation between my son and Bizantium princess(3rd in line) so when her father and brother died in strange circumstances - I united Slavs under Empire and killed myself to give to my son all of power. Trip to Alexandria via Jerusalem after that was just piece of cake.
Thought I’d share a run I did. I started as the kingdom of lambakanna in 867 and eventually became the chakravarti roughly by the year 997 I believe. It was a fast run, I was able to both consecrate my bloodline and become blood father so I got pretty lucky and basically had an op-race of Indians. I was going to finish up the run when I suddenly got the urge to see what fighting genghis khan feels like so I stuck around until the year 1200. During that time, I conquered the Tibetan empire, the Persian empire, and the Arabian empire. Genghis khan appeared right as I was defending a crusade for Jerusalem and he declared war for the whole empire of India back on the other front. It was stressful to defend but was able to do it. After that, I took all the titles from the Pope because I thought that would stop him from crusading, we all know that didn’t happen. I then proceeded to kidnap and wage wars against the Byzantine emperor, getting Constantinople and splitting the empire into its kingdoms from the amount of emperors I’d murdered and independence wars it caused. I was gonna stop here, but then saw there was an achievement for playing until 1453 and thought might as well go for it. I conquered all of Europe, britania, Scandinavia, the Byzantine and carpathia, as well as the Baltic states and the region between Mongolia and Europe. I converted to Catholicism and found the Roman Empire, as Indians, and also mended the great schism lmao. I had remained as the Theravada religion throughout most of the game, which has dharmic pacifism, meaning I couldn’t wage any holy wars so that slowed down progress. The run was a ton of fun and definitely one of the craziest ones I’ve had.
37:02 how I did the restore israel decision was starting as the king of Abyssinia and converting to Judaism, it's very easy and only cost 250 piety because you have a jewish vassel
I believe the Kingdom of Naples happens when you have Napoli as your capital and have not create the kingdom of Sicily or Trinacria (spelling?). I know I created it on my de Hauteville playthrough. The problem was I wasn't able to make a university in Napoli because I created the parliament there... Next playthrough I'll make my capital Palermo instead! Love the Robert Guiscard start.
@@italianspartacus @ItalianSpartacus you were the reason I tried the Robert Guiscard start! That dynasty had a blood-father, restored Rome (although the achievement didn't fire...,) Mended the Schism, and many others. Love that start. But regarding the special building slot: it does create the slot for the Parliament, but since each barony can only have one special building slot, it stops the University from being able to be built. Although I have not done a playthrough where you create the university first and then try to empower the parliament...
For the starting israel, I actually had fun being norse, conquering azov and then the nearby rhadanite province to put a local in charge, switch to have them covert to rabbisim and then set them up as a vassal and doign what i could to give them the boosts they needed in not only conquering Israel, but also sinai for the reform priesthood. I RP'd that the nearby muslim rulers were like "WHY?!" and my character just gives them a smug "Because."
I mended the great schism with mariage between my great Britain empire and byzantine empire. I was the pope of insular Christianity and recreated roman empire. Was fun.
You can fabricate claims on their lands, imprison them, then revoke their titles! But honestly, you're better off just getting more land and ensuring it goes to you
Hi, I figured out a way to get kingdom of Bosnia in 867 ( I did it as Trpimirovic in 1066). You can start as Neill in Ireland and then conquer county hop all the way to Bosnia, you already fulfill the level of splendor requirement, you only need to get the duchies and become feudal. The problem with this decision is that it is badly implemented. You can't take unite the south Slavs decision afterwards. Also, if you get empire of Slavia, kingdom of Bosnia is not De Jure part of Slavia. Still fun because of difficulty.
Great video, I've been trying to find out how to create Norman culture thanks. Could you do one or tips on educating your child, because sometimes for some reason I'll give a kid(rowdy or boss) to someone with good Marshall education but I get crap Marshall stats for that Child.
I think when you cover mend the great schism you can also cover restore the roman empire since if you can mend the great schism you're also likely to restore roman empire
For the Sultanate of Rum, first I broke free from the Abassid Empire. Then, I converted to the orthodox and became a Byzantine vassal. After I ate all the lands required, I freed myself again and converted to Islam to form the Rum Sultanate. For Norman and then English culture run, I started out as Fairhair, established my duchy in Norway, cook up some fat alliances and went viking/conquering/blobing in England. Form the Kingdom of England and attack France for Normandy when they are exhausted from previous wars. Take Normandy, establish Norman culture, then English culture, convert to Catholicism and boom... Fairhair is alive and you are already a feudal kingdom.
About empowering Scilian parlament. Do you know if you set in Capua will it replace the University slot? I've been wondering ever since I tried it. Because to be honest I would prefer the University.
In my game I empowered the Sicilian parliament with my capital in Napoli and I think I now won't be able to get the university. The option of founding the university is still in the list but it is impossible because the province already has a special building slot as a result of the parliament. If you did it in Capua I think you'd be ok as I don't think there's a uni there, but to me at least it appears you can't have a parliament and a uni in the same province. The parliament does give you 0.7 prestige a month though, which seems rather good. Hope that helps
@@jamesd3472 If you set the parlament while you Capital on Capua, it creates the special building in Napoli, destroys Kingdom of Sicily and creates Kingdom of Napoli and the other one listed on the requirements. Exactly what you state was my question, because Napoli gets the special building and probably you could swap the building once created the University, but I wanted to keep both. Maybe the only way is setting the Parlament in Palermo.
I commented on this before seeing this comment thread, but yeah, if your capital is anywhere in the Duchy of Capua it builds the Parliament in Napoli and you can't found the university. Just set your capital to Palermo unless you've got an RP going with Naples being the capital.
I vote for a video specifically about establishing the witches coven :) I never seem to be able to pull it off. Once too many people of my house know about this it tends to blow in my face.
I was spamming convert to witch for several decades, and got to 45% out of the required 60%, my ruler died eventually and my next ruler I tried the same but somehow the number dropped to 15% of 60%. My heirs are now basically plagued with the secret and get constantly blackmailed by insignificant vassals forcing their way to my council. Not fun. I believe it's only worthwhile if you get the event very early on the campaign when it's easier to convert a handful of dynasty members opposed to hundreds.
Can you not reform the Carolingian borders only as a nation that has Frankish culture? Does that mean I can only do it as France (or West Francia if I start in 867)?
@@italianspartacus Goof to know! I was curious since for some reason I do not have the decision to form even though I played as East Francie and conquered all the Frankish states.
Is there any way to create the portuguese empire?(I know about hispania but I would really like to make it as portuguese empire) also is there any mod that adds americas and south of africa?
Start as .... mmm.... Duke Nuno I believe? he's within the kingdom of Galacia I believe, or just south of it. You start as him and you can create portugal in the same way you can create Hispania. It's a dilemma if you own portions of the historical Portugese Empire :)
@@italianspartacus thats what Im doing :) just made the country, got galicia duchy and some counties in the north and am now in the process of oynking the rest of iberian peninsula from muslims and other Cristians. Then I will try to conquer all africa and asia to compensate for the lack of south of africa and south america to conquer xD
Tried my hand at a Armani leader for the kingdom of Rum. After 10 tries and 6 hours i have yet to last more than 10 years before the Byzantines wipe me out or have my lands lost to my liege in a title revoke war. Not sure what I'm missing on this but it is extremely frustrating that I don't think its possible without so type of "Perfect" strategy or luck.
On another attempt I went to war the the Byzantines while they were at war with 3 other kingdom ranked countries and they still beelined it to me with 6k death stack. The only way I have found to keep the Byzantines off my back is to quick rush an easy War Target, capture it, then get a white peace as quick as possible to get a truce. The Byzantines will either need to give me 50+ years to build my troops so I can match them or they need to shatter so I can piece meal them. Overall its extremely difficult and massively frustrating/infuriating but I WILL win no matter how many times I need to restart or save scum.
Would love some min-maxing content. Currently I'm trying multiple things out, like focusing on development and playing tall but what to build and where to spend points in lifestyles, but there's so much to keep in mind..
I think that there are many opportunities here, like how to get witch circle and legacies as fast as possible. Marriages are a good point which fits to the legacies and renown farming too. Also religion, but I'm not sure if you already made a video about good tenets and doctrines. 😊 Also some key points for min maxing: lifestyles to focus on first, maybe later on incest marriage to get pure blood..
How would you switch to Feudal as any of the Muslim Clan starts for Establish Bactrian Supremacy? Afaik you can't switch between Feudal and Clan, at least I haven't been able to figure out a way :\
Try taking Rashka and founding the Kingdom of Serbia.. The conquest part is easy, but you have to leave the Byzanyties to be able to found the kingdom and not get crushed utterly. Or try Uniting the South Slavs as Rashka and proclaiming the empire as Emperor Dusan the Great mostly did. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Du%C5%A1an
Ultramar Empire, sounds good , Roboute Guilliman for leader and Genius, Herculanean, Giant trait to all, and we are there. Also EU , Merkel jump to capital -> convert to Afghan culture-> estabilish Afghan supermacy in Germany.
Mending the great schism can be annoying. The pope does not convert and even if he has no land and there are no Catholic kings, he still crusades often and its a pain because you can't gain war score by attacking, only defending the target.
@@italianspartacus I feel ya. One of my first campaigns was the Byzantine Empire because Basil II just released on CIV 6. Once I took Jerusalem the Jihad wars began
Great video again. Would you consider replacing the cutscene with something else? It's both distracting and I've seen it too many times. 😊 Maybe instead a panning view over the map, zooming in and out of regions? Or better yet, a sped up timelapse video. I love seeing empires grow and shatter and others rising to prominence.
My favorite is mending the schism at the very same time of reforming my religion so my faith gets the lead of Christian faiths, especially when you make a fundamentalist temporal faith with Communion, Armed Pilgrimages, and Pursuit of Power, then using my newly bestowed divine rite I proceed to reclaim the roman empire and claim Mediterranean Supremacy to then establish roman cultured colonies in Africa, India, Scandinavia, Europe, and the Steppe. Stealing regional innovations by strategically reforming and diverging my culture to get that "40%" per region. Eventually my romans will have appropriated Horse Lords, Wootz Steal, Longships, and much, much more. 😎

I thought you were running out of ideas ahah. Keep 'em coming !!
Hahaha I definitely am. Just waiting on Warhammer
My favorite by far is “Destroy the Papacy”, I find it fun bringing down the entire Catholic religion by taking over the whole of Italia as a different religion.
I was hoping you'd touch on founding Switzerland in this video. I discovered it while playing Lombardy.
*Aggressive neutrality intensifies*
Is it a kingdom?
Yes, specific to cisalpine and swabian culture i believe
How to become the Khan of Khans with actual Mongolia:
1. Make as many allies as you can
2. When they call you to defense, actually go. Your goal is to farm as much Reknown as possible.
3. Once you have enough Reknown, shit up a giant fuck off army
4. Around this time, Great Liao should be imploding in civil war
5. Call upon all your allies and you should have even numbers with Liao
6. Lifetime CB of Kingdom Invasion on Liao
8. ???
9. CONGRATS you are now the power house in the region
10. Mass execute as many people as you can until you dread is high as shit and keep the rest in your prison for your son to do the same.
11. If you're good, you should be able to take the Greatest of Khans action within a single life time.
now THIS is the video i didnt know i needed. sincerely, thanks for putting this one together. ive been going mad trying to go after decisions.
My pleasure my dude! :)
Happy to see someone still making CK3 videos
I've only made it to the second entry in the video so far, but I wanted to chime in: becoming the Chakravarti from an 876 Lambakkana start has been tons of fun. I wasn't able to pull it off until the late 1200s, but as of 1350, I've fended off two Crusades from Rome for Mesopotamia, which is my westernmost king title.
Oh man that's so epic. I fucking love it hahahah
Nice vid :)
I would like to mention for others the decision to "become the Saoshyant": Not only hold the Empire of Persia title but also all de jure counties belonging to it and be a zoroastrian ruler.
I started as Ireland for that decision, much better when you let everyone fight it out while you build up
Fun fact, since Brittany also has a Goidelic culture, you can actually invade England from there and still get yourself the title of Pendragon, while also holding a neat little slice of the continent as a jumping-off point!
on "reclaim britannia" breton also works and is probably the easiest of the 3 by allying with and then swearing allegiance to william the conquerer or harald godwinson (i did it in 1066)
This is awesome. Thanks for your time and effort to put this together.
I played a norse to norman campaign recently. Took a few generations to get Norman culture, but when I did, I discovered that the Franks had managed to get War Elephants. Had a great time seiging Alba with a stack of Elephants.
Wot.. elephants in France..
40:34 That has to be one coolest things in the game!
Yeah dude holy shit hahah I didn't know that Pendragon was a title and I've been such a huge King Arthur nerd all my life
I managed to be the greatest of Khan by starting as Cumania in MP!
Theres a few you missed, such as establishing the Kingdom of Aragon, uniting the Slavs, the Litgallian or Slav Holy order decisions etc.
You should also be allowed to form Bactria as a Greek culture group because that's how it happened historically
It would be cool to form a Indo-Greek hybrid culture once the Royal Court DLC comes out.
Hopefully Paradox fixes this by then.
Love the video; can't wait to see you cover the rest of the Unique Decisions!
Becoming Chakravarti was the so much fun and heart break lol
Learning how to pronounce it was just as fun hahaha
@@ethanmurray3619 My first one I formed Hispania as well but I was pretty content staying in my bubble hunting character related achivements
Managed to forge britannia as the Welsh yesterday, very chuffed. The king was called Arthwr also :)
Always quality and educational content. Thanks.
thanks so much for watching my dude! :)
You should do a video on settlements with unique buildings, I feel like I randomly run into new ones every play through
Yes!
You can mend the schism as your own created religion.
Wow! Another video! I know what I'm doing for the next hour
Hahah thanks for watching my guy! :)
Once you use “empower Sicilian culture” I believe Sicily becomes a dejuere county for the itialia empire.
@@TheKrislaf Italy does have four universities in its de Jure territory though.
Here I go watching this again, great video! Would be great to see another for when there are a bunch of new or uncovered decisions.
Like you can tell one is the father of the other for example
uniting the slavs is also a really fun but challenging decision which i can reccomend you to try :)
Could you cover roman restoration?
Shit I had intended to do that here, but it got so long and I didn't! I'M SO SORRY! I'll try and do one on that :)
@@italianspartacus honestly if it gets its own video that'd be cool. Plenty of people probably search for it specifically
1. Conquer Neustria as a Norseman and form the norman culture
2. conquer England as a norman and form the English culture
3. succeed in a crusade, become a crusader state and then form the outremer culture
4. Profit
5. You could have used this time to do something productive, for shame
Oh man could you give Witch Coven your magic touch brother!?
You can basically unlock all of tribal innovation as norse embracing norman and then english culture in 867.
and if you created HRE and archduchy of austria before embracing any culture your realm get primogeniture. Then you get the second empire of francia and conquer HRE from any character as french culture guy the french culture get some mid-late innovations. Then you embrace norman and later english culture and you have the most advanced culture group in the game and Primogeniture.
So basically:
1.Preferably start as norse guy in 867 and swear fealty to some feudal guy for feudalism and Jesus
2.Conquer East Francia, Bavaria,etc.
3.Create HRE and create Archduchy of Austria for that sweet Primogeniture. (and switzerland if you loose leadership of HRE somehow. You can even wage war of independance as Austria or Swiss and reconvert to norse for holy wars if you want.)
4.Convert to French.
5.Conquer all of The French Empire and some of iberia
6.Give the HRE title to some weak dude
7.Restore Carolingian Borders for some sweet innovations.
8.Reconvert to norse and then Embrace the norman culture. Now you merge the norse and french innovations.
9.Conquer ALL of the british isles and create Empire Of Brittania.
10. Set the capital in the british isles. preferably Salisbury(Stonehange for 15% learning experience)
11.Merge the Norman and Anglo-saxon innovations.
The Spiffy one put me on to CK3 quite recently. Apols if this is a bit necro but this seems to be the place to do learnage.
Ta mate.
The run was a ton of fun and definitely one of the craziest ones I’ve had.
restore the Danelaw is another
I wanted to focus on a bit of the more obscure ones - although Britannia isn't very obscure hahah
Kingdom of Cornwall falls in the same boat as Danelaw and hell it's more obscure as well.
great video man!
37:02 how I did the restore israel decision was starting as the king of Abyssinia and converting to Judaism, it's very easy and only cost 250 piety because you have a jewish vassel
Ohhh very tricky, I like that idea man. Abyssinia is a really fun start too!
Same. It's my favorite! I thought I. Made a special building slot just for the parliament??
@@italianspartacus @ItalianSpartacus you were the reason I tried the Robert Guiscard start! That dynasty had a blood-father, restored Rome (although the achievement didn't fire...,) Mended the Schism, and many others. Love that start.
But regarding the special building slot: it does create the slot for the Parliament, but since each barony can only have one special building slot, it stops the University from being able to be built. Although I have not done a playthrough where you create the university first and then try to empower the parliament...
Pretty sure the wiki is missing the decision to re-found the Jewish Priesthood. I know I did it but can't find the decision anywhere.
Would be fun if game had decision to restore Assyria
For the starting israel, I actually had fun being norse, conquering azov and then the nearby rhadanite province to put a local in charge, switch to have them covert to rabbisim and then set them up as a vassal and doign what i could to give them the boosts they needed in not only conquering Israel, but also sinai for the reform priesthood. I RP'd that the nearby muslim rulers were like "WHY?!" and my character just gives them a smug "Because."
I mended the great schism with mariage between my great Britain empire and byzantine empire. I was the pope of insular Christianity and recreated roman empire. Was fun.
When i start as a king with 2 of 5 domains, what is the best way to get domains from my vassals without the innovations?
Still fun because of difficulty.
wow so much structure, Very nice video
Great video, I've been trying to find out how to create Norman culture thanks.
Could you do one or tips on educating your child, because sometimes for some reason I'll give a kid(rowdy or boss) to someone with good Marshall education but I get crap Marshall stats for that Child.
Find someone with the genius trait and a high learning skill, those are the skills that matter when teaching sometime in-game.
@@cronchcrunch yeah I've learnt alot since 11months ago, like it's almost ways worth put a genius as your child's educator no matter what
I think when you cover mend the great schism you can also cover restore the roman empire since if you can mend the great schism you're also likely to restore roman empire
how to get glass monument, i am a lunatic king but the decision didn't pop.... (it feels weird saying I am a lunatic king xd)
He can pronounce the Indian words respectably but pronounces de Jure like its a Germainic word, i dont understand.

About empowering Scilian parlament. Do you know if you set in Capua will it replace the University slot? I've been wondering ever since I tried it. Because to be honest I would prefer the University.
It adds a special slot just for it!
I vote for a video specifically about establishing the witches coven :)
I never seem to be able to pull it off.
Great video! Do you have one on things like creating Kingdom of Cornwall? Etc
Can you not reform the Carolingian borders only as a nation that has Frankish culture? Does that mean I can only do it as France (or West Francia if I start in 867)?
Any Frankish culture I believe :)
@@italianspartacus Goof to know! I was curious since for some reason I do not have the decision to form even though I played as East Francie and conquered all the Frankish states.
The Hungarian culture is also formable by decision.
You can’t actually create both the Sultanate and Greater Armenia in the same play through though, both require you to be at most of king rank.
Embracing the culture for Vikings is not really confined to England, Viking conquerers can embrace Slavic Culture in the east as well.
It makes no sense that being an Empire prevents forming the Rum. Shouldn't it just destroy the older title?
Is it possible to get Divine blood and Saoyant trait in 1 character?
I BELIEVE so, but I'm not 100% sure!
Given there have been many attempts to mend the Great Schism in the real world, and all have failed miserably, accomplishing it should be difficult.
Nice.
Bueno!
Would love some min-maxing content. Currently I'm trying multiple things out, like focusing on development and playing tall but what to build and where to spend points in lifestyles, but there's so much to keep in mind..
Hmm anything in particular you'd like me to discuss when it comes to min-maxing? LIke Marriages? Children? Traits? What?
I think that there are many opportunities here, like how to get witch circle and legacies as fast as possible. Marriages are a good point which fits to the legacies and renown farming too. Also religion, but I'm not sure if you already made a video about good tenets and doctrines. 😊
Also some key points for min maxing: lifestyles to focus on first, maybe later on incest marriage to get pure blood..
Thanks
I get scared when a video just starts, got use to livestreams. Thought I had 10 minutes before the video started.
How would you switch to Feudal as any of the Muslim Clan starts for Establish Bactrian Supremacy? Afaik you can't switch between Feudal and Clan, at least I haven't been able to figure out a way :\
Also conversion costs for religion are reduced to 250 piety if you hold land of that religion
You forgot about the, "Become Archduke of Austria" decision.
Mending the great schism can be annoying. The pope does not convert and even if he has no land and there are no Catholic kings, he still crusades often and its a pain because you can't gain war score by attacking, only defending the target.

Maybe instead a panning view over the map, zooming in and out of regions? Or better yet, a sped up timelapse video. I love seeing empires grow and shatter and others rising to prominence.
Archduchy of Austria ?

Is there a way to create the ottoman empire?
Reclaiming brittania was the first big decision I did and was super annoyinh
