- Our Honey Fire (AKA Superduty Honey) boot is a hybrid wildland favorite for its maximum grip and support. Identical to the Fire Inlander in its quality materials and handmade construction, but with a softer and grippier alternative to the classic RedX sole. The soft honey lug sole and logger heel deftly adapt to any environment by locking you in place and providing excellent traction, while the NFPA-rated materials throughout keep your feet protected on the line. Each set of Honey Fire boots is meticulously handcrafted in our Spokane, WA facility using only the highest-grade American leather, NFPA rated materials, Vibram 100 Honey soles, and stitchdown construction

I dont understand why both rows of stitches go through the outsole. Why not use the inside stitch to attach the upper to the midsole. Then the outer row of stitches to go through the outsole? Resole would only require cutting one row of stitches and the thread through the sole is worn out in a hundred miles anyway.
You're asking a company to take additional steps in their production. Time is money, to them it's more cost effective to do it the lazy way. To us, it's less quality. White's handsewn and Wesco both do what you described.

I've been wearing my Superduty Honey vibram brown composite toe boots for 3 weeks 40 hours a week, let me tell you they are being a bit of a bear to break in. Not sure if its the brown leather or what it is. The brown SDs are being like Vibergs its going to be a month or more of 5 days a week before they are broke in. I slathered the lowers with obenauf oil again it seems to help. The honey V in my experience so far, yes its significantly more grippy I do notice the difference. I have 20 plus years experience with the V100 it can be slippery you have to be careful or you'll end up on your ass. The honey V gives you a much more confident step you don't have the slippage like the black V100. Does the honey V provide more cushion, maybe just a little not so noticeable. The wear factor on the honey V to be determined. I got 2 years out of my black super dutys with the V100 they need a resole and heal, my Vibergs are the same. The grippyness of the honey V might be a worthy trade off for shorter intervals between resoles.

Curious as to why they don't use a slip sole? Anyone know?
If your referring to the midsole, we do use a thick oak tanned leather midsole on this boot. If you mean the actual sole of the boot we offer wedge soles on other boot models and as a custom option 👍
@@jkbootsusa thanks for the response! I was actually referring to the thin rubber slip usually in between the leather midsole and outer sole. Just curious is all. Your boots are awesome!
