There's a rumor he might go to the Padres... and I'm a Dodgers fan. This rumor comes straight from a Japanese site. You can easily goggle-fu this and find the results. I hope he doesn't
There’s a rumor in the internet that Roki will quit baseball and try to become a pro pickleball player. His dinks are already good so this rumor is probably true…
I'm Japanese. Even in the Japanese media, there is a lot of criticism regarding Sasaki's major challenge. Unlike Yamamoto, he has not achieved overwhelming results in Japan, nor has he been in the rotation for a year. He's prone to injuries and has a thin body, so I don't think he'll be able to withstand a rotation in the major leagues😅
In a perfect world, He Ohtani Yamamoto ect ect stay in Japan and it's the American Baseball star players who come to Japan to play intead. Since Japan has the best baseball fans and is the best baseball market in the world. But in reality, Money rules everything.
I wonder why there is more money to be had playing in the US instead of the "country with the best fans". Possibly because your "Best Fans" metric is wrong?
The best baseball players in the world play in the MLB. Thats why they get paid the most and that’s why most of the best players in the world want to play in America. Your comments are quite ignorant.
I'm not hyped about Roki. The Japanese pitchers that dominated MLB all have a variety of pitches. Roki is the 100mph fireball guy who might be rare in Japan but pretty common in MLB. The two pitch types will quickly get figured out by elite MLB batters. Also, fast pitchers get injured more
You know this throws his 102mph 4seamers with good location and movement, and he has variety of pitches. Not like the other r100mph fireball with no arsenal other than heaters.
Im a big Ohtani fan but what Ohtani did with his contract broke baseball. Should not be allowed. If you disagree, come back 3 years later when theyve won all 3 or 2 of the next 3 years.
He's going to the Giants. They'll throw the kitchen sink at this guy to get their own piece of the Japanese market and I honestly think Sasaki would prefer being in San Francisco over Los Angeles anyway especially as the sole Japanese import player on the squad, doesn't have to worry about constantly playing second fiddle to the Japanese media to Ohtani. The Japanese media are absolutely rabid in comparison to American sports media, especially in the surrounding Southern California area. The media atmosphere is far more relaxed in the bay area and is one of the reasons why I believe pitchers have absolutely flourished there in the last 10-15 years. Makes a wealth of difference as a starting pitcher when you can worry about the game and just concentrate on being a player for 1-7 innings for a couple days a week vs the tabloid pollution that comes with playing in a Los Angeles market that requires balancing some semblance of celebrity status at the same time.
What exactly do you mean “throw the kitchen sink at this guy”? do you know any team is limited to signing him to a minor league contract, won’t be for much.
😂 like the above comment mention he'll be signed to a.minkr league contract and this: "It is noted that Roki would fall under the 2024 bonus pool. The Dodgers have the largest remaining international signing bonus pool left at $2.5 million, meaning they could make the largest offer to him." 👋 you can say sayonara to your weird fantasy.

Yu in terms of stats and longevity is the most successful of the current Japanese pitchers, yes he can help more than Ohtani. And if he goes to the Padres it’ll keep them competitive against the Dodgers.
Padres are the only other option IMO. But lets not forget who was the absolute captain of that Japan WBC team. Leading them to victory. It wasn't Yu. As good as Darvish is, Ohtani is Japan's Michael Jordan, and is a natural leader. Also now a world series champion.
Why? Read what I wrote, I said he’s the most successful of the current Japanese pitchers and a veteran that can help Sassaki in the MLB. Not that he’s going to the Padres anyway, looks like he’s going to the Dodgers.
It's not costing anything to sign Roki so how are they buying a championship? What is your team. Name their amazing home grown talent and tell me how they don't spend money on free agents and how happy you are about that.

Ah yes those "huge contracts" worth a maximum of 5 million dollars... because that's all he can get.
As a Dodger fan I would love to have him. As a baseball fan, I think he should go to another team like the Padres or Giants.
What
@@robobbyfraireI have the same opinion as his. If other teams get him it’ll keep the league competitive. Plus I would love to see Japanese players face each other offs rather than having them all on one team
@@patron40silveryea he ain't a true Dodgers fan ? Out of all the teams he picked Padres and giants, the only two teams we hate as Dodgers fans.
Buddy we all know you aint a dodgers fan
@@patron40silver I am a Dodger fan, but I'm a baseball fan primarily. Roki going to a rival team is good for ratings and baseball. The Dodgers are stacked already and we are going to be the dynasty of this decade. But we can't keep signing these superstars giving us an unfair advantage.
If he went to the Yankees he would be destroyed.
There's a rumor he might go to the Padres... and I'm a Dodgers fan. This rumor comes straight from a Japanese site. You can easily goggle-fu this and find the results. I hope he doesn't
The US is where those rumors originated 🤷♂
There’s a rumor in the internet that Roki will quit baseball and try to become a pro pickleball player.
His dinks are already good so this rumor is probably true…
Everything about your commentary is so off here…
I'm Japanese.
Agee
Skinny body isnt really an issue. I can gain 10kg in 1 week. 😂😂
In a perfect world, He Ohtani Yamamoto ect ect stay in Japan and it's the American Baseball star players who come to Japan to play intead. Since Japan has the best baseball fans and is the best baseball market in the world. But in reality, Money rules everything.
so then that means the whole history of mlb including babe ruth is japanese ? has to be the dumbest comment i’ve read all week.
I can get down this idea

Damn. Making their own ninja turtles team.
Kinda funny:
Roki Sasaki
Oroku Saki
I'm not hyped about Roki.
The Japanese pitchers that dominated MLB all have a variety of pitches. Roki is the 100mph fireball guy who might be rare in Japan but pretty common in MLB. The two pitch types will quickly get figured out by elite MLB batters. Also, fast pitchers get injured more
Bruh…he can pin point his fastball like Degrom and Skenes…that’s why he’s hype. His other pitches matters very little…
K
You know this throws his 102mph 4seamers with good location and movement, and he has variety of pitches. Not like the other r100mph fireball with no arsenal other than heaters.
@@helloman3676so is he also made of glass like degrom
@@SukunaIsHim probably.
Im a big Ohtani fan but what Ohtani did with his contract broke baseball. Should not be allowed. If you disagree, come back 3 years later when theyve won all 3 or 2 of the next 3 years.
Plenty of players have done this. He just did it with a way bigger contract.
@justicefelipe4794 it's Ohtani and the Dodgers.
But did it break baseball? The Shohei signing did not win them the ring
@@BagelsEater they literally won a ring what are you talking about. Geez
@@Logic105 Baseball survived the 90s and early 2000s Yankees dynasty. You know nothing if you think this will break baseball.
Welcome to LA
What exactly do you mean “throw the kitchen sink at this guy”? do you know any team is limited to signing him to a minor league contract, won’t be for much.
cope brother. he won’t go to a losing organization like the giants.
😂 like the above comment mention he'll be signed to a.minkr league contract and this:
"It is noted that Roki would fall under the 2024 bonus pool. The Dodgers have the largest remaining international signing bonus pool left at $2.5 million, meaning they could make the largest offer to him."
👋 you can say sayonara to your weird fantasy.
@@gonzoducks8 The bonus pool resets after December 15th. It's a question whether Sasaki waits until after or makes a decision before then.
@@jykim3604 let me just go Agent Smith on you "It is inevitable."
You can comeback and make me eat crow if it is not.
I hope he goes to the Padres. Darvish is currently the most experienced and longest serving Japanese pitcher in the MLB, he could take Sasaki under his wing. A veteran presence can really help him settle in.
As opposed to Ohtani and Yoshi helping him?
Yu in terms of stats and longevity is the most successful of the current Japanese pitchers, yes he can help more than Ohtani. And if he goes to the Padres it’ll keep them competitive against the Dodgers.
Padres are the only other option IMO.
But lets not forget who was the absolute captain of that Japan WBC team. Leading them to victory. It wasn't Yu.
As good as Darvish is, Ohtani is Japan's Michael Jordan, and is a natural leader. Also now a world series champion.
@@lukekellerman3830why would he choose an aging darvish over two of the best pitchers in NPB history?
Why? Read what I wrote, I said he’s the most successful of the current Japanese pitchers and a veteran that can help Sassaki in the MLB. Not that he’s going to the Padres anyway, looks like he’s going to the Dodgers.
He’s probably hurt. They stand to make money now so might as well post him.
Dodgers gonna keep buying championships
It's not costing anything to sign Roki so how are they buying a championship?
What is your team. Name their amazing home grown talent and tell me how they don't spend money on free agents and how happy you are about that.
WTF do Kike Hernandez, Max Muncy, Tommy Edman, Will Smith and Blake Trinen have to do with money?
@@laartwork They aren't happy about it, which is why they choose to complain about other teams doing what their team will never do.
Yeah, because they bought so many championships already. 🤡 Have your team try buying some.

Second
I don't think MLB wants the Dodgers to get him. Can't have ALL elite Japanese players Play for one team. I'd be surprised if he's a Dodger. I rather see him on a contending Mid market team anyway
Why not? LA has a huge Japanese community and its easier for fans in Japan to travel to. It's literally the best destination for a Japanese star
I don’t think you understand MLB
The state that mlb is in dodgers are the best team for him 💰
