はじめましてケンタさん! Sponsored ads and stuff like this isn't selling out, you gotta pay the bills some how! Very cool to see companies starting to recognise your channel and starting to work with you Daniel 🙂
Kenta is a legend, eh. Yeah, thanks. It is good to get stuff, and my priority is to make an entertaining video for my audience first. Tbh, I never felt like I was selling out here, but I was perhaps trying to head off potential commenters saying so. In any case, cheers
It just occurred to me watching this, the new technology in older cars seems to work 'vibes wise' better on modded cars s, it looks like being practical on the standard cars I cam think of although now I think about it this unit looks discretely styled so it would not really stick out apert from the screen . Also, in the 'zam with it's minimalist dash it looks kinda right popping out the middle there.amazing bit of kit.. Fair play to you ,follow your passion.
not something id install in mine as im really not fond of touch screeens in cars, but cool :). audio is typically first thing im dealing with in my cars, just gotta have my tunes haha. suppose you should upgrade the speakers next, especially if the front left one is blown from what you say, thats typically just enough atleast for me, never have installed subwoofer or anything in my cars as there really was not a need for one so far haha
@@wasabicars yea, I have installed the camera, but I am getting someone else to do the headunit, while the wiring under the dash gets sorted. I look at the mess and sigh (then cry lol!).
What timing Daniel. I have been trying to decide what to do about my Celsior's stereo. (I bought a '95 Celsior over the summer) The factory Pioneer head unit works, but the display is knackered. So I don't know what station it is on. I bought an FM Bluetooth transmitter and I did manage to find one of the 2 or 3 stations that overlap between the US and Japan, but anytime the battery is disconnected I have to search through every channel to find the one that matches with the transmitter. Not ideal. Also, most of the time only the driver's side speakers work - but if I take a hard turn, the left side speakers will turn on. I believe there is something wrong with the amps causing that. So an upgrade like this would be great, if not expensive because I'd likely need to replace all my amps and speakers to get it all to cooperate. And it's quite difficult to find a coupler that plugs into the Celsior since the Lexus LS400 sold here had a different stereo setup. I may wait until my trip to Japan in April (!!!) and collect some parts there, but seeing this makes me want to say the heck with it and start getting parts now. Great video as always!
I've got a 93 LS, previous gen of yours. Those radios most of them have bad capacitors. Is yours a navigation unit? I heavily recommend you to swap to a classic non touch screeen head unit with the ac controls and the pigtail just in case from a junkyard. Then check out the pinout and first try plugging everything in as is. Toyota is mostly universal so it should fit. But if there's a few weird ones, that's where the cut out pigtail comes in action. Or you can buy the adaptor from an auto parts store and put a generic one in it. The factory amp will take anything you throw at it
Oh, that sounds like a pain having to re-search channels, etc... Yeah, I'm guessing it's gonna be a pain collecting parts if you need JDM-specific stuff. Whichever way you go, I hope it's smooth sailing. Sometimes it's the little things that trips us up
Daniel san great update to Kei9X for the end of 2022. Can I add a couple of ideas? Ichi. How about a video of the amazing auto accessory stores in Japan? I’ve heard they are waaaaay better than SuperCheap Auto. Ni. Show us Kenta sans car. San. When are you getting the tacho dash from the sports model? Cheers from Oz, Merii Kurisumasu.
Thank you, sir. I feel it's a bit tough to shoot video inside stores. I think if I were fresh into the country with zero sense of local etiquette (not sure if that's the word...), perhaps then I could. Yes! I should show Kenta's cars. His kei truck is in the middle of getting an engine swap, but seems to have stalled. Plus, there's his Daihatsu Esse. I've been searching for parts on Yahoo Auction since getting the car... no parts like that. (There'd be more, but...) I'd have seen not even 10 of those Carols in 20 years. I'll keep an eye out of course
I never see a radio where the monitor can be removed like that. It is cool but still I like the cassette tape radios more. But in the other hand I don't listen to the music often in a car because I am always listening if a car starts making strange noises. That's the burden owning a project car. But the big monitor is for sure useful for Google maps 👍
It wasn't my plan for this to be my daily (rear suspension 2nd hand when we bought it, and is somewhat tired...), so recently renewed Shaken on the Wagon R. But, now! I'd love to daily it.

I really don't mind the music because i always have a phone with a headphone jack and keep my mp3 music stored in them but the maps, oh the maps that's a big one for me as well and that navi looks great! Plus you can update unlike the dumb ones installed from the factory on cars. I never thought i was gonna keep learning Japanese even after stepping out of your teaching career, now i know about the earth that sometimes the connection can be a bit "earth" and neigi meant screws! I've got a set of pliers that remove stripped screws called the neigi saurus which by the way is the best set of pliers I've ever had. I got them in Japan way back then in 2015. Maybe i can recommend you some audio ideas, i don't know if you guys will get new or used but there's a set of rear speakers from the 90s that illuminate at night and they turn red when you hit the brakes and swipe amber when you put your blinkers. I've got a cheaper kenwood set that just illuminate the logo white and sounds amazing! I dare to say even better than some modern ones I've seen, maybe superduck can sponsor you with a set 😄 I'm so happy to see the ray looking better and better every day. One of my favorite builds driven by my favorite youtuber 😊
OMG!! And I'm not even kidding... I just checked the video, and the old stereo did have a cassette deck! I did not even realize because it was permanently off. LoL! Also, I just checked out Nei saurus products on Amazon. They look like very high quality. Thanks for your speaker recommendations :)

Paint the area surrounding the camera black or add some dark tape or wrap, which should cut the contrast and make it easier to view at night.
