Interesting interview. Tommy is really talkative here. This interview seems to be from around the mid to late 2000s decade, perhaps 2007 or so.

2010/2011 is my guess. He talks about recording his first Christmas album this year (released 2011).

Years ago i was on a 1 week drum school course at Bath University. Some of the course tutors were like a who's who of drumming. There was also a guitar school on site but in other rooms. We had the chance to go to see Tommy Emmanuel who was one of the tutors for the guitarists.
The gig from memory was in a church hall and Tommy was on fire. What a superb gig.
I took a few mates to see him in Ebbw Vale and they were all staggered how good he was. Two great memories and wonderful CD’s to buy.

      Hi Adrian
Tommy has been blowing people away for decades here in Australia so it’s great to see that he’s doing it in England as well. He is a very special musician but did you know he’s a top shelf drummer as well?
He had a band going years ago called “Gold Rush” with his brother Phil who was on guitar (& staggeringly good, world class) they had a great banjo player & Tommy was on drums. I once asked Phil why Tommy was on drums and Phil’s answer was “because he’s the best drummer in Australia too”.
There may be something online that you can out from Gold Rush with Tommy playing drums
      Steve

      Hi Bob
He doesn’t just exude joy when he plays, that’s who is. He’s fun to be around. I knew his brother Phil better and let me tell you, he was so funny. He’d stay at my place when he did the Guitar Heroes shows with me and you just laughed till your stomach hurt. Both of them were a pleasure to be around, I really miss Phil
