Super excited about the Tommy Emmanuel. I live here outside Nashville in Franklin and watching him live is mesmerizing. There are virtuosos, and there is genius. Tommy is pure genius.
FORGET Tommy Emmanuel's guitar playing! (Which BTFreakingW is out of this world!) The absolute JOY this man projects through his music completely blew me away from the very moment I first caught one of his performances via an online video some years back. In my simple view of things... his excellent guitar playing is simply an outgrowth of someone with extreme sincerity for music making as well as being a genuinely kind & caring individual. After THAT... everything else is merely details - - including his power house ability playing guitar like nobody else on the planet!
Couldn't have said it better man.
WOW! Really looking forward to your Tommy Emmanuel interview Rick! 👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎸👍👍
I love Rick’s “What Makes This Song Great?” Series. I would be simply overjoyed if he was to extend that concept to entire albums in the same vein as the TV series Classic Albums.
Bought the package for my son who is a guitar player. I’m an old drummer just looking to support the channel as I think you’re the best thing on RUclips and without peer
Hi Rick...I can,t believe it! TE is one of my all time favourite guitarists, I saw him in South Australia quite a few years ago and have thought for some time it would be amazing if Rick did a TE interview then this morning I jumped on your channel and saw your Black Friday Sale and thought yes I,m buying that, then you announced your interview with TE and I was absolutely stoked! I got excited like a little kid again, can,t wait for it. PS your Beato content is amazing thankyou and I,m going to let my muso mates know about it so they can buy it too.
Great channel mate..loved the Peter Frampton, Pat Metheny and Sting interviews!
I'm looking forward to your interview with Tommy Emanuel. I've been listening to him for a long time now, he's an awesome musician.
I bought the black friday bundle. Love the channel!
Can’t wait for the Tommy Emmanuel video! Will be seeing him at the Tarrytown Music Hall on December 13th!
I played guitar 50 years ago. This is a screaming deal so I bought it to support this excellent channel and Rick’s work. The interviews are very good and if you don’t like to watch ads send him some cash.
Rick told people to skip those ads because he makes very little off them it's not worth it.
Rick - Sting is my favorite musician and your interview was fantastic - wish it were longer.
Love Sting's music. I am 53 years old and have been listening to Sting since the Police back in 1981. Wasn't that great that Rick got that awesome interview? So good.
@@matt8637 only disappointing thing for me - the last few releases from a sting have been subpar for me. His latest is growing on me. Been listening from the beginning and slightly older than you - cheers!
That's what she said!
Can't wait to see the Tommy Emmanuel interview. Tommy and his brother Phil were in a band named Goldrush. They use to both play on the one guitar, unbelievable and we are talking maybe late 70's. Unbelievable showmanship.
I've seen a video somewhere on RUclips with that.
I saw Tommy, Phil, and Mal Eastick in concert in QLD. Was so good that by the end I forgot to cheer. Was just stunned into silence.
Would have been amazing. These guys got really good cause they played all the time all over the country. They really got to learn to play and be showmen.
When I was working in London's Denmark St, Sting's keyboard player, Jason Rebello walked in to try out a new digital piano at the time (it was 1994) and the moment he started playing my jaw was on the floor. What a player back then at a young age. I loved his comment repeated by Dominic about practice. Loved the Sting and Dominic interview Rick. Well done Sir.
Love your interviews Rick! First one I saw was Steely Dan, Epic!
Rick! Waiting for you to review "Get Back"... I'm dying to hear your take. I thought it was PHENOMENAL!!
I agree ive been raving about it every chance i get since last night.
Christmas came early for sure!
Omg Tommy Emmanuel! He's my favourite guitarist of all time! Can't wait for your video!
God bless you Rick Beato
Thank you Rick!!! I have been wanting the ear training course for so long and i finally can afford it. I'm looking forward to doing it! Love your channel Rick.
I am getting it. Thank you so much Rick!
Tommy Emmanuel is an incredible guitar player. Had the pleasure to see him live a few years ago and it was amazing. Can't wait for the interview.
Just Purchased it Rick. Been watching your channel for a while now. Great Content. Awesome instruction.
Thank you Rick for putting this together and following your passion for music. I'm homeschooling my two son's who are 7 and 5 and I wanted a good course for myself and them. Edit: I just purchased and guys,..... IT IS AWESOME! Totally worth it.
Tommy Emmanuels new version of Somebody That I used To Know is real good too. Love that song. Great cover.
Can’t wait for the Tommy interview !!!!
Thank you Rick. Your YT channel is great and I took advantage of our sale. Many good wishes for you and your family at year's end and into the next year.
Tommy Emanuel interview?! Let's GO!
I saw Tommy play The Capitol Theater on 5/18/24 . . . I knew he was phenomenal ( and ) he was Even Better then anticipated. Complete Mastery of an Instrument. Go see this man perform live - it's next level. This guy is a "Freak-Show" - it's hard to digest how anyone can become that incredible.
Great interview with Tommy Emmanuel. I've seen a lot of guitarists over the years, I'm 63, but I have three favourites. Tommy is one; the others are Frank Zappa and Jan Akkerman.
For a split second I thought you were going to tell us that you've secured that interview with Don Henley 😁
"Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche and R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion" was in 91 too.
Hey Rick, the Sting interview was really fantastic. Would love You to have Mike Campbell and Bentmont Tench 👃👃👃 All the best for You and Your family. You are a great educator.
Thank you so much for this incredible deal. Looking forward to diving into the ear training modules. I've been watching for years. You are greatly appreciated. 🤘🏼😆
Good job getting Tommy on! Looking forward to the interview.
Just bought the bundle , great channel great teacher now where do i start !?
Rik Emmett definitely worth hearing about . Amazing voice, guitarist and musician whose been doing training since at least the 90’s.
Rick.. I've learned so much from this RUclips channel.. I'm mostly interested in the ear training stuff, but I bought it more to support your channel. Awesome stuff.
Just ordered, thank you Rick!
I have been a fan of Tommy Emmanuel since 1997. I have seen him live twice. And yet somehow, I am still not completely convinced he actually exists. I adore many guitarists for many reasons, but I do not think any of them make it look as utterly effortless as he does. He is just the consummate, ultimate performer and I have never heard anyone say a bad word about the man. You are right about his arrangements Rick; in spite of the mind blowing complexity, there's always a simple, memorable melody at the heart of each song that sometimes even a plebian like myself can pick along to. Good instrumentals tell a story without saying a word. You should think of the title and think "Of course that's the title." And Tommy hits that target with near perfect accuracy.
I seen the bro's in Brisbane in mid 80's they were great players Tommy is a good bloke, his dead brother never paid me for studio hire even after I went out of my way to give him a better deal than anyone else ever got but, hey that was Phil the snake lover.
@@eyelight3056 last time I saw Phil was at a coffee shop in QLD complaining about the price. Sounds about right!
@@shcottyboy67 Yeah his wife was the blocker. Anyway Redline Studios it was called they were the good old days.
Nice bundle! In that website you say you wrote your book 20 years ago. 1989 was 32 years ago though!
I got a new jazz piano student. First resource I gave him was the Beato Book. It's so comprehensive.
Saw Tommy in our local small town hall here in NZ a few years back, probably about 100 people in the audience, total professional, it was like he was playing to 10,000 and his life depended on it. One of the best concerts I've been to, got a signed copy of his promo poster in my studio.
I just saw Tommy Emanuel for the first time a month ago in PA. Just astounding what that man can do, can’t wait for the interview
Jealous!!!!
How about a salute to Zappa show?
I'm in for the full boat!
Oh my goodness
Hey Rick
I am new viewer loving your channels
Yea I saw Frampton Comes Alive tour
I am 64 now and was right there for Queen too all at Sportatorium Hollywood Florida.
It’s been a great 2021 on the channel! And it’s getting even better- really looking forward to the Tommy Emmanuel interview!
Jesus Jones released "Doubt" in January 1991. AiC released "Facelift" in 1990. But other greats from 1991 were Ozzy's "No More Tears", GnR "Use Your Illusion 1/2", U2 "Achtung Baby", and Petty's "Into the Great Wide Open"
Do more. You are the ULTIMATE critic, inspiration, musician, maestro, Rick.
Agree. The Burn on Simph. Is simply ace. How it starts... so soft and timid, then it explodes
I would love to buy this…..but I’m simply not on that level yet. But I would just buy it to support you Rick, because you’re giving us so much joy and entertainment.
I saw Tommy in Clearwater and he was beyond outstanding. I was just totally blown away. World class player.
Thank you, this was the sale I was hoping for. I bought my Beato Ultimate Bundle!!!
Fair enough, I'm going to get this and support your channel. Why? Because you have made content that I have enjoyed that I cannot get anywhere else. Your working knowledge and enthusiasm for all genres of music is remarkable and opened my eyes to artists' work that I would never have encountered without your passion for great music.
Purchased for my son for Christmas! I know he will love it and get a lot out of it Thank you so much Rick!
14:10 - Excellent point about Studio Acoustics and Angled Walls. In most cases people can't afford a total build to get acceptable results, and overall Room Volume is the killer of smaller spaces, especially regarding the ever-critical Bass Response (smaller=worse). Modular Acoustic Treatment (Velocity, + Pressure-based Absorbers) are the most assured way to go in this ever shrinking, costly Real-Estate era. Most problems with Speaker Boundary Interference Response, and a plethora of other problems can be resolved best with the right choices of Acoustic Treatment + Room Compensation Software + Phase Aligned Sub-Arrays. That's my humble opinion after studying Studio Acoustics and doing several builds or calibrations over the last 11 years.
I SO SURPRISED THAT YOU HAVEN'T HAD NEAL MORSE NO AN YOUR CHANNEL,, I THINK YOU SO MUCH IN COMMON MUSICALLY,, YOU HAVE HAD SO MANY OF HIS FRIENDS AND FELLOW MUSICIANS.. I LOVE WHAT YOU DO RICK..YOU ARE BLESSED TO HAVE SUCH A GREAT EAR.
I was hoping you would interview Tommy. Can't wait to see it.
I just purchased your bundle Rick, I’m so pumped!
After watching, I don't know - hundreds (?) of hours of your videos - I decided to go ahead and support you with this GREAT deal of musical content. From your music theory videos (which remind me of my music college professor - Prof Pilecki) to your What Makes This Song Great, and even your diatribes against the "powers that be" of the music 'industry', I can say that I have not only thoroughly enjoyed your channel and teachings, but found it extremely entertaining and funny as well. Lord knows it's hard enough to make a living with playing and "living" music, here's to you Rick B.
Hey Rick, everything you do is so professional and buttoned down...EXCEPT your livestream launch. Easy fix. Make yourself a splash screen for the livestream, and show THAT in that first 8 seconds. Then switch to yourself. Mo more deer in the headlights. If you don't have one, get yourself and Elgato Streamdeck. Makes such things a snap.
Sreamdeck fucking rocks.
@@Jem544 Rick mentions it a lot, it seems to bother him. It’s awkward not knowing if your show has started. Offering solutions friend!
ha ha, good idea!
Great
Rick, I would love to hear you talk about Nels Cline.
And ordered, Thank You so much Rick. You have inspired me not just in the musical realm but life in general to be more focused and deliberate in how I learn new skills. Rock on!
Just bought your bundle. I’m so glad I found your channel in time! I’m here from Mary Spender and watched your Sting interview. That was next level!
I wanted to get them all but decided to wait for a while. Well.......Now no more waiting! Thank you for the Black Friday discount! You are really such an amazing musician and incredible story teller and interviewer.
Got the bundle! No idea where to start 😛
Rick, I'm ULTRA IMPRESSED with your body of work. I am NOT a musician. I am a true engineer. However, I want to laud you for your body of work and how to share it with aspiring musicians. You sir, ARE BLESSED !!! Thank you for your talent, and sharing it.
Fantastic! Thank you for the offer Rick!
Got tix to see Tommy Emanuel and Mike Dawes for this spring. Can’t wait!
GROOVY!... So, I just GOT your Black Friday BUNDLE! Here we GO!
Oh my goodness
Hey Rick
I am new viewer loving your channels
Yea I saw Frampton Comes Alive tour
I am 64 now and was right there for Queen too all at Sportatorium Hollywood Florida.
I love learning Guitar too
Go Rick!
Hi Rick, greetings from Glasgow in Scotland. Just purchased your Black Friday Bundle as an early Christmas present to myself. If nothing else, it’s a great way to help support your channel, which is one of the best on YT. I’m a lapsed drummer, not played a kit for about 20 years, but I footer about with guitar and bass and a wee bit of home recording. Long may you rock (and funk, and jazz, and soul and… you get the picture)
Thank you for this, Rick!! So generous!! 🙏🙏🙏 By the way, LOVED the Sting interview!! WOW! That was fantastic. Is it possible to get Tom Scholz for an interview? He's a legend!! So far ahead of his time... would love to see him discussing music with you. 🔥
I have a lot of old Rockman gear. Hope he talks about that stuff. 🤓
Courses purchased Rick. I already had the Beato 4.0 book, but couldn’t ignore the great value that this bundle offered. Plze note however that 1 email went to my main inbox but the 2nd went into my promotions inbox RE: ear training etc… just thought that I’d make you aware in case others can’t find the second mail Buddy. 👍👍👍
Greetings from Turkey!
you're awesome Rick, Happy Thanksgiving!
This Black Friday bundle sounds really enticing. I need to learn theory so I'm in!
Thank you for this Rick. I’d love you to interview Dave Cousins of the Strawbs. He writes fabulous riffs, is Rick Wakeman’s favourite songwriter and created many unique guitar tunings and is a fabulous interviewee.
Looking forward to the interview
Happy Thanksgiving, Rick!
Really great bundle! I bought it and hope it will help you making more interviews with all the great musicians out there (Dave Grohl maybe? :)! The ear training course is really great! I try to complete a test every day. Just finished the minor and major seconds - YAY!
Keep up the good work, Rick!
That's a pretty sweet bundle at that price.
Fun stream- appreciate you doing what you do 🙏
Thanx Rick!
Rick we need your take on the Get Back documentary!
Just 2 min in and I already took advantage of the deal. I feel like I just signed up for a gym membership...🧠💪🎼🎵🎶
I purchased Rick’s Black Friday Bundle as I am very interested in his ear training. It is amazing how many countless hours of work he put into these courses. I am excited to grow and improve as a musician, but I also want to help support his efforts through revenue for Rick. I think Mr Beato is an extraordinary educator and a huge inspiration to us all.
Thank you, Rick!
Tommy’s not bad for a drummer. Hahaha good to see a fellow Aussie on your channel and his brother Phil (RIP) was a great guitarist as well.
Couldn't resist, I went for it 😀 need to get my den/workshop/music room finished so I have space to get my guitars out of storage. Hope my left hand is still up to it after about 12 years not playing 😀👍had a quick look at the ear training and quick lessons pro, can't wait to get started, hopefully the kids will be interested too.
America's Least Wanted by Ugly Kid Joe was also released in '91. A truly underrated band. Would love to hear you do a what makes this song great for one of their song's.
Ordered the Black Friday bundle Rick. I may never use half the stuff in it but at least it supports your channel. (Aging musician/ vocalist here.)
Tommy Emanuel is insane! A true virtuoso.
I just bought my Christmas Gift from my Husband to me. Thank you Rick!
I first worked for Tommy when he was the Drummer in Goldrush . His older brother Phil (rip) was on guitar . I later had the privilege to work as on stage engineer for Tommy . Because he didn’t sing you could really crank the acoustic on stage without feedback . Also one of the nicest people I’ve worked for .
That would have been an amazing experience seeing them play. I don't think I was old enough to see them live however I believe I have a live album of Goldrush.
Tommy is a PRICELESS GEM of a human!! I recorded many clips (on my channel) of a Masters Class I attended... his stories and playing and arrangements are absolutely MIND BLOWING!!
Regarding acoustical treatments, I used to work in an old radio studio that was purpose-built to be as "dead" as possible. Angled windows, extra thick walls covered with sound deadening material, and even the ceiling had some interesting woodwork up there to absorb reverberations. Sometimes when there was no audio playing and no one talking, people would notice the silence, and it would freak some of them out. I miss that room.
I loved the Sting video. You gotta do a WMTSG of Big Wreck and a video on Ian Thornley
Fantastic. I wish that I had this stuff during my first year .. ear training de-mystified ...
and a lifetime of wisdom!
Tommy and Beato, Union of Titans!!!
Happy belated Thanksgiving
Greetings from Florida
🎹🥁🤘THANK YOU RICK🤘 🎸🎷
Rick, I am STOKED you have TOMMY EMMANUEL!!! HE IS THE BEST!!!!
I was just playing a song on the piano and it has 17 different major or minor chords. Rise, by Herb Albert, a trumpet instrumental. The 2 guys that wrote this created a masterpiece! And the groove in the background is awesome and supports all these chord changes seamlessly! I am into music trivia, like how many times did Bill Withers say 'I Know' in a row? 26! It's a lot, I know! You have the best music-based You Tube out there. Keep up the good work!
"Rise" is indeed a masterpiece (it's now playing in my head).
Well-spotted!
I think 4 or 5 "I know"s would have been sufficient!
Hold my beer........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Yep, 26! OK!
And "Rise" was famously sampled by Biggie Smalls.
@@BassByTheBay Yes, I forgot about that. Just listened to it again on YT. Great stuff.
