The idea that there were people who bought it out of spite because of collab fatigue is really funny to me
Kek. Yeah, it's pretty funny. Especially when they hate Crin in the first place.
Seriously lol. People are so weird in this audiophile world
This comment section keeps saying that but do these people actually exist?

Answering “why haven’t you reviewed this crazy IEM everyone’s talking about?” with “well, because I was the one who tuned it” is such a surreal and badass response!
Considering this because Truthear HOLA went out of stock when I went to sleep.
right?
> I tuned it.
What a gangsta line.
The naming scheme is what gets tiring not good tuning.
The Smurfing /Late Reveal approach is the best to test the credibility of the collab and the audiophile audience.
Keep up the good work.
So after Zero it's Smurfing? 🤭
I have them and it's kinda hard for me to review because it just sounded 'right'. Like there's nothing wrong with the sound, it's smooth throughout the whole frequency range. No mud, no shout, no harshness, no sibilant, no notable dips or scoops or peaks. Everything is presented politely. I was even surprised that it does sub-bass really tastefully
At first my only complaint was that it could use some more upper treble energy, but a simple tips-rolling fixed that and
now im happy.

Have you ever thought about making your own audio company? It seems you have all the opportunity to start it and be successful at it
Why bother with all the bureaucracy when you can freelance trough the industry.?
Having an audio company doesn't mean anything if he doesn't have the infrastructure and people for it. I think he needs to be a millionaire first before even start thinking of goals like that.
His speciality is in tuning, not running an audio business.
You can’t run a company with such boosted ego and telling everyone to get fxxked. Your employees will resign in droves and I have a strong feeling he knows that.
Lmao, of course you can. Elon Musk constantly does both of those, and Tesla is one of the most valuable companies on earth
I'd just be happy to see reviews again, and an updated rankings page. That's the dream.
Ikr
Crin could you review the salnotes zero? I've been hearing good stuff and don't want to buy another collab no offense
Aaand that's a chopstick
I bought these since I hated the cable/ear cup things for the Chu and wanted something a bit more comfortable. The sound of the Zeros is incredible but they're a weird shape for my ear and end up hurting my ear cartilage after ~20 minutes. Different tips didn't matter since the issue was the shape of the actual IEM itself. Didn't wanna return it though so I gave them to my girlfriend and now she loves them. So I guess what I'm saying is great job on the tuning; they just didn't fit my ears comfortably.
This is what I was expecting but surprisingly it was comfortable cause my old kz zs5 felt like a blunt needle poking into my cartilage. Still deciding if I want to keep it or return it though compared to my qzxhbb
for me it was the opposite, way more comfortable than kz and cca ones
I'm having the same problem - the body is so jagged and sharp. What did you replace them with?
@@canas_fe4815 I hate these boxy iems. Please tell me if you find one that isn't like wearing a torture device
@@canas_fe4815 Aria SE. They sound very similar to the Chu but are just sturdier and feel nicer in the ear.
Ok but when's the salnotes zero review???
Okay this is the best $20 I've ever spent on an audio product. You've previously said, "You don't have to pay for tuning," and now I believe it. If this is worth $20, the Chu should be $4.
Tbf, the Chu are only really $7 as-is, given the price of Spring Tips, and their construction is way more robust than the Zero. The debate about the price of Spring Tips is another argument for another day, but $7 for fully metal IEMs with that tuning is incredible, and I can't even imagine how good the Jiu will be, given their DSP integration
@@BTBHSOHBOY the chu's are pretty good, but both my pairs broke within 2 months. So i personally can't really recommend them.
@The Common Kitchen Nah jit, my Chu broke and I babied the fuck outta them, not even moving them from my setup. Sounded good af tho I'll give em that. I've had a significant amount of cheaper IEMs that have lasted wayy longer.
The unfortunate part with Chus are their build quality.
My pair started developing channel imbalance within 2 months and the paint was chipping off of the ear pieces. I would also frequently clean up green/blue gunk inbetween the eartips and the earphone itself (probably some copper compound).
Got the Salnote Zeros and I hope they last more than 6 months.
Same here, best €30 I spent on iems so far. I burned through a couple mainstream brand ones and after getting these I was like: "huh, the others should have been half the price."
I would really like to see a 7Hz x Crinacle Salnotes Zero in a Clear + Metal colorway
...BTW I LOVE the coherence of the Salnotes Zero's sound and note weight. That you helped tune it now makes sense to me.
Clever play, Uncle Crinacle. I actually genuinely liked the Salnotes Zero. I'm not sure if it was your intent to tune it like the Chus, but they're the budget IEMs that replaced the Chus I had before, after they broke within weeks. And the IEMs that I'm happy to recommend to friends.
Edit: Props to those people on Reddit who threw out that Crinacle possibly had a hand in developing it.
Lol I did know this was made in collaboration with you, but the details are hilarious. I think Salnotes better contact you earlier next time about the naming!
Also, I think it’s not so much that people are tired of collabs, they’re just wary of your role change from an impartial reviewer to a product maker. Some just wants you to remain as the measurements and reviewing guy, and not another one of the people pushing products.
That said, your track record of making well tuned stuff speaks for itself. I’d be on the lookout for anything with your work on it.
They did, he just wasn't able to disclose the reason it would be an issue
I've enjoyed every Crinacle collab I've tried to date. My friend got the Truthear Zero, and I got the KZ CRN (don't kill me I didn't know about the drama at the time) and just got my Salnotes Dioko for black Friday. Can't wait to try more!
What drama was there with the KZ CRN? I bought them when they came out but they shortly broke after 6 months.
@@Klyke If I remember correctly they use multiple drivers and advertise it, but those additional drivers are pretty much just dead weight. They still sound good, but it's not hard to understand why they got a lot of drama for that.
@@xPandamon Ah, the dude who claimed that took back what he said. He found out that other iems other than KZ does the same thing and it's actually pretty common for multidriver setups
@@Klyke Misleading advertising on KZ's part regarding the drivers. Basically, the dynamic driver is the only one that's audible. It's still a good product, but it made a lot of people lose trust in KZ.
@@Bakashi Huh, now I wonder if it's true for my CCA C10 too
I picked these up a couple of weeks ago and they just arrived. And this is my first "audio first" type of listening experience. So far I always had cheap earbuds or gaming headsets that serve their own purpose. I bought these just to enjoy music. And I can't believe how many details I've missed in almost all my favorite songs for all these years. This is without a doubt the best €29 (with shipping) I've ever spend.
The praise that the IEM once’s got, and the flaws that the people chose to overlook, before knowing that Crinacle was the one that tuned it, is gonna now complain about the flaws, harder.
the people in an audio group I've joined were singing praises to this IEM while simultaneously dissing crin for over hyping the chu, now I wonder what their reaction will be
@@bunnyleaningonasquishedbun5542 it will be nothing but pain for them
@@bunnyleaningonasquishedbun5542 Can you give me a link or what to type in the search engine so that I could see it.
I got these and I have 0 regrets. It sounds all around great and I'm glad it's not heavy on the bass but it's still there. For me, they're the perfect budget IEMs for a good listening experience and competitive gaming! I knew they were tuned by you because... It wasn't much of a secret and many videos mention it, so it added trust to the product.
This will be buried, but seriously, who the hell cares if it’s a collaboration and cares enough to be “tired of it”? It doesn’t matter whose name is on it, it matters if it’s any good. If collabs keep being good, bring it!
LMFAO the not Crinacle Zero ended up still Crinacle's Zero
Good to get the confirmation. I did suspect that you tuned these. I remember you mentioning in some video a while back about filling the ultra budget price point with one of your iems and these sounded too good and you confirmed you weren't involved with the Chu's.
I recommended these to all my friends but I personally still went with the Chu's. Moondrop waifu box art is effective marketing.
Is the paint peeling problem still persists with the Chu? I have Aria and still a bit disappointed that it peels within months
@@fahmitaufik1254 doesn't seems like it in my unit at least. It chips normally like anodized aluminum
So now Project Red is the only mystery of Crinacle...
Just want to let you know your tuning was phenomenal and my mother and I are enjoying this set a lot! Thank you!!
If Crin technically has two zeroes to his name, does that mean he has a license to kill? The icing on top would be the 7Hz collab.
I've watched youfor a long time, but never actually bought an iem until I saw the 7hz zero as I couldn't justifty spending more than 20 on one. I had wanted to get the other zero with the purpose of supporting you. This is very good to hear :)
I went to the Malaysian Mecha store few weeks back. Didnt end up asking if they knew Crinacle but ended up playing fake typing on the moondrop dash keyboard
Bought these because they seemed like better value than the chu's. I don't know much about sound but I feel like if crinacle has a hand in tuning, things are just right 👌
I bought these because I needed a replacement to my og galaxy buds (right bud died) and I didn't want to drop $80 on an aria. So far they've been great. The only problems I've had is that the eartips are very hard to get onto the iems and the outside cover bit got loose quickly. Besides that, I've been very satisfied.
I also bought a pair of 7Hz Salnote Zero and for the price the tuning is so hard to nitpick that it's almost impossible to review them objectively. It's the first time that an IEM that I've listened to is very difficult to review; as its hard to do this hidden gem of an IEM justice with my review.
I guess you can say that Crin owns ZERO products hehe...
I'm sorry
I bought these
They are impressive (given the price)
You influenced me
You are now my SME for IEM (congrats)
Now that you've cleared it up, we can just pretend every zero product out there was touched by Crinacle somehow. (even if he told everyone else to stop naming his collab products Zero) lol
Love this. Just offer a good product and folks will but it. Much different approach than the other collabs hyping themselves 24/7.
I got these because of the hype, they aight. Really solid for price and performance
same. at that price it was an easy buy to at least try them. while they are good for the price and could definitely recommend it to others, it wasn't my prefered tuning. the two things i didn't like about them was 1)on the higher end, it has a bit too much air and cymbals start to sound fake 2) it doesn't have enough warmth in the midbass and the vocals (yes even female) and instruments like cello lack body. i still prefer the crn if i was to use them without eq.
It really is a very mid iem the treble and the tonal balance was off due to the dip in treble as well as being bass light
@@lorenischangstonhughes What would you suggest as a good iem that's not expensive then?. I'm just curious.
@@WyattOShea Same, I too would like some suggestions
How do they compare to the Blon Bl03?
I've already been stabbed by etymotic er2, chopsticks won't hurt.
Review the salnotes zero.
Thank you Crinacle Zero for posting this
I ordered a pair as soon as Crinacle said "I tuned it".
Been using the Salnotes Zero for the past two weeks. It's my first proper IEM. Gotta admit they are not as comfortable as cheap earphones I find in stores, but the sound is so much better that I'm gonna stick to using IEMs only from here on out.
You tuned is so good. The budget benchmark 👍
Ah bummer, if these were available earlier, I would have instantly grabbed this colour combo.
I have the Truthear Zero and although I do like it, it's still too much bass to be my daily driver. I bought the Truthear HEXA and it was closer to my preference than any other IEM I've used (even moreso than the Moondrop KATO, which really surprised me) And now that HEXA has been made even better and more complete by the Spinfit W1 eartips (most notably better mids). Seriously, this (with a Tripowin cable) is my budget endgame. Anything beyond this would be purely for luxury's sake.
Does hexa have good treble? What songs do you mainly listen to?
@@scorpiom8053 To be honest with you, I think honeymoon phase had an influence on my original comment, lol. The KATO is definitely my more preferred IEM for numerous reasons, especially timbre and separation. The HEXA does have very very good tuning though, even in the treble, but that treble doesn't sound quite as natural as the KATO treble. As for music, I listen to a lot of stuff, from classic rock to 90s grunge & punk, to jazz, to several forms of metal, to ambient electronic (big fan of Ultimae Records) to orchestral film scores etc. It has been a hot minute since I used the HEXA though. I'll have to revisit them soon. But yeah, I've since revised my opinion on them being a greater preference. If they edge out the KATO in any way for me, it could only be in tuning, and even then, not by much. (They ARE lighter though, which is good for comfort)
@@Whirlybird88 Thanks for the answer.

I loved the video. Keep up the great work.Good sounding IEM's are a must and at this price point.
This guy seems knowledgeable, I wanna see him review the Salnotes Zero,
Hey Crinacle, I'm not really an Audiophile, but I am someone who wants to get the best out of whatever pair of headphones they buy. For context of what my ears are accustomed to I'm using a pair of Beyerdynamic Tygr 300r's plugged into a GOXLR mini at my PC (I really like the ability to mix individual apps on my pc with this unit). I play games and listen to music with this setup. I've only every owned one pair of cans at a time, so maybe my ears don't know what to look out for in terms of "good" and "bad" sound as I have little experience to reference. However, whenever I do need a new pair of headphones or just want to salivate at the idea of something new, I'll go see what the audiophiles of RUclips are buzzing about.
All that background information established, I'm finding it harder and harder to trust the reviews of Audiophiles in this hobby space. There seems to be very little in the way of consistency in the headphone review space save for a few pairs of cans that audio reviews have just unanimously agreed upon. One reviewer says that the headphones I'm wearing are some of the best I can get from the brand I picked, others like you say they are passable at best. Other headphones I've looked at get wildly different ratings depending on the person, including headphones that are supposed to be agreed upon like the Sennheiser 660s. Then there's DACs, AMPs, and they can be with/wo tubes ect. I'll watch a reviewer plug a pair of cans into two different amps (a device who's purpose is literally just supposed to boost the same signal) and then swear there's a big difference in the sound signature when doing so. Same thing when discussing DACs too.
They'll say things like "These pads make this headphone sound X" and then I'll read/watch another reviewer who's saying "These same pads will make this same headphone sound Y". I just can't get a consistent read off the board on headphone consensus, I know there's something to be said about "Personal Preference" but when reviewers can't agree on whether a headphone is "Siblant" or not I just get confused and honestly a bit overwhelmed at who or what to trust. And it doesn't help how many times I've seen genuine audiophile snake oil get gobbled up by the community like an "Audiophile grade SSD for $600" or "HD audio capacitors for PCIE slot".
Though I've noticed you do things quite differently on your RUclips channel, you put effort into measuring the actual Frequency Response of headphones (Finally, something tangible to go off of), but then again, that FR graph doesn't tell the whole story either, because apparently now there's things like soundstage and imaging to worry about. And even headphones that seem to have an FR graph that looks just fine from my perspective having compared to other "good" FR graphs ends up being "trash" by comparison in review.
Maybe I'm looking too deep into it but what should I trust? I don't want to be buying bad pairs of cans but I also don't want to dump thousands of dollars down the drain on dozens of headphones and apparently DAC's and AMP's to find out what's good and what isn't. That's why I try to find good reviewers. Is something like a 2DB dip in the midrange something that can really put a headphone as "C" tier when another can with an almost identical graph minus the tiny dip is "A" tier? Where does personal preference end and begin?
I've tried looking towards the audiophile community for buyers advice and honestly, I'm left with more questions than answers and a sense of distrust over what's good and bad. You clearly have a different approach to things Crinacle, data that actually holds water, so I'd like to know what should I even be listening for at this point because even after reading and watching dozens of reviews I don't even know.
Crinacle best recommendation was audio technicia ath r70x for all around perfomance(soundstage, tuning etc)and gaming, Hifiman Sundara is another most widely recommended headphone at this price range.
Senn HD600 for music
